Liam begged to get dropped off at the Sheriff station as I went home. When I got home my mom was asleep on the couch.
"Where's your brother?"
"With Mason." I said, which was true he did meet Mason there.
"Okay." She said sleepily and adjusted herself. I dropped my keys in the dish and went up to my room.
I sat on my bed, dropping my stuff. I laid back and shut my eyes. My bedroom door opened and I opened my right eye. I saw Brett shutting the door.
"Finally came through the front?"
"I knocked on the door." He said. "Hoping you would answer, but your mom did."
"And what did she say?" I asked.
"Asked how I was doing, told me Liam wasn't home. And then was surprised when I said I was here for you." He sat next to me. I laid my head in his lap.
"Well, Scott told Liam why he doesn't want me around anymore."
"And why is that?"
"He said I was useless." I replied.
He played with my hair, "I don't think that's true."
"That's why I need your help to show that I am important. And totally usefull." I shut my eyes.
"Maybe in the morning." He said. "You're really tired."
"I still haven't gotten my things from your house."
"I can bring it over tomorrow after school."
"I forgot school was still a thing." I opened my eyes and looked up at him. "I'm probably failing every class."
"I doubt it."
"I don't." I said.
"How about you get some sleep." He said.
I nodded and sat up before I stood. I went over to my closet and took my shirt off. I put on a fresh one, before dropping my skirt and grabbing sweatpants.
"You actually own sweatpants."
I smiled at Brett, "Indeed I do."
I walked over and sat on my bed. Brett sat at the end of my bed.
"Are you gonna stay?" I asked.
He shook his head, "Not tonight."
I nodded as I laid down. Brett covered me with a blanket and kissed my forehead before walking out of the room, shutting off the light.

I woke up the next morning to my phone ringing.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Please come get your brother and Mason."
"They're at the hospital?" I asked, sitting up.
"And bugging about dead bodies."
"I'll be there soon."
I hung up as I stood. I didn't bothering changing. I slipped on some vans and ran down the stairs. I grabbed my keys and ran ouside. I sat in my car and turned the engine on. I looked at my stereo time.
"Six in the fucking morning Liam, really?"
I pulled out of the driveway and started down the road. When I arrived at the hospital I ran inside, due to it being cold outside. I saw them standing in the lobby.
"Okay, let's find the nematon." Liam said and turned to start running.
"I don't think so." I stopped him. "You told me you'd be home last night at a decent hour."
"Before school is a decent hour."
I shook my head and looked at Mason. He held his hands up.
"I've been trying to go home since one."
"Liam let's go." I said.
"No, we have to fine Hayden's body."
"She's dead Liam!" I yelled.
"We have to find her." He grew angry and ran out.
I ran after him, "Get in the car! I can't stop you but I can go with."
They both got in the car and I took off.

We got to the school Library and climbed through the police tape.
"Well I guess going to school is a no." I said.
Liam and Mason started walking around I sat on a chair. When I sat down I fell through the seat. Giggles came from Liam and Mason.
I gave them an annoyed look as Liam helped me up. Mason grabbed a book and sat it on the table. He started explaining stuff to Liam as they talked. I looked around, running my fingers over all the spines of the books.
Liam ripped out a page.
"What now?" I asked.
"We go to the woods."
I nodded and followed them.

I followed my brother and his friend through the woods. They crouched down and started talking about Hayden. I looked around where we stood. Then my phone went off, blaring my ringtone.
"Sorry." I said and grabbed it out. Answering it. "Hello?"
"Hey." I heard Brett's voice.
"Hey, what's going on?"
"I heard your school kinda some construction that needs to happen so I was wondering if you wanted to go get some lunch."
I looked at Mason and Liam as Liam listened to the conversation.
"I'd love to, but I can't." I said. "I'm busy, but I'll call if I open up."
"Okay, well I'll talk to you later then."
"Okay." I smiled. "Bye."
I hung up and looked at Liam.
"You could've went."
"I'm not leaving until this is done."
I flashed my angel eyes and looked around the woods.
"There." I said and pointed. "The nematon."
Liam and Mason ran over. I walked behind as we saw all the bodies gathered around the base of the tree.
Then the cops showed up.
"You three, stay right where you are." One of them said.
"That's it." We heard Hayden's voice. "That's where I found the bodies."
She came into sight and Liam's heart beat picked up.
"Oh my god." I said.
"Four of them." Hayden said.

The cops let us go. I dropped Mason at home. Then Liam and I went to our house. We both went to our rooms. I shut my door and grabbed my school bag. I grabbed out my math book.
"Glad you have your math book, because I need some help." I hear behind me. I looked over and saw who I figured it would be.
"Are you just gonna come over to my house everyday Brett?"
"Do you want me to stop coming?" He asked.
"No." I shook my head. "I like having you over."
"But seriously." He said and sat on my bed. "I need some help on my math homework."
"You came to the right place." I smiled and sat next to him.
"How was your day?" He asked.
"It was fine, how about you?"
"Torture."
"Why?"
"I've got a lot of people mad at me."
"Why?"
"Because someone found out that we were, well whatever we are, and everyone still hates Liam. And people still think you're a....."He trailed.
"A whore." I finished and smiled at. "You can say it. I won't get mad."
"But you're not a whore." He said.
"I know." I nodded. "That's why I won't get mad if you say it."
"Well it feels wrong."
"What did you need help on?" I asked him.
He opened his math book and grabbed out a paper.
"All of this."
"Oh, this is easy." I perked and began explaining.
There was a knock on my door.
"Come in." I said.
The door opened, revealing my mom.
"Just came to check in on you kids."
"We're fine mom." I said and looked at Brett.
"Okay." She said and was about to close the door but opened it again. "I'll bring up some snacks."
She walked away, leaving the door open. I rolled my eyes.
"I'm sorry." I said to Brett. "She's trying to understand everything."
"It's fine Blaire." He said. "I kinda figured it wouldn't be something she'd get used to right away."
"Well I hope she doesn't do this every time."
He looked at his phone, "I better get going."
"Are you sure?"
He nodded and gathered his things, "I've still got school in the morning."
I stood with him, "I'll walk you out."
I followed him down the stairs.
"Are you leaving?" My mom asked.
"Yeah, I have school in the morning."
"Well, you're always welcome here." My mom smiled.
"Go." I whispered to Brett. We walked out to his car. He got in and set his stuff in the passenger seat.
I leaned in to give him a kiss.
"Your mom is watching." He said.
"Let her." I said and kissed him. I pulled back. "I'll see you later."
He nodded. I shut his car door and walked up to my front door. I walked in and my mom looked at him.
"Are you sure?" My mom asked.
"I'm sure."
