You had spent the night at Jade's as planned, though Dinah remained at the hospital with Min-Jae, and were awoken by loud rustling from the kitchen. You rubbed your eyes blearily, swinging your legs over the side of the bed and exiting the room to walk down the hallway, where you were welcomed by the biggest mess that you had seen so far in Jade's apartment.

"Pregnant," Jade muttered, head buried in a cupboard, "it had to be pregnancy. Fucking hell. He's coming back, and he's going to kill me. Brutal murder. Like, blood will be all over the place. Jade, you're going to get yourself sick again."

"Jade?" you asked tentatively, "are you alright?"

She banged her head on the inside of the cabinet before turning around to sheepishly look at you.

"Quite alright, actually," she said with a false cheeriness, "We just happen to be out of coffee."

"Jade..."

"No, I personally am freaking the fuck out. They get back in less than twenty-four hours, and I have no idea how to break the news to Namjoon."

"Jade..."

"And then how do I tell my parents? I'm nineteen; I'm way too young to be a parent, and Namjoon's almost never around, and this is all way too much way too fast."

"Jade..."

"And now I'm out of coffee. Of all the days to run out of coffee..."

"Jade, I think you need to calm down a little bit."

"I'm completely calm. Do I not seem calm? I'm totally calm."

"Jade. You're not fine. Namjoon might be a bit taken aback at first, but I think he'll be excited once he warms up to the idea of having a little one running around the apartment."

"That's the thing. The baby will be running around with me through the apartment. Not with Namjoon, because he'll never be around. Our child deserves to have both parents," Jade' voice dropped, and you had to lean in to be able to hear her, "I don't want our family to come second to his career."

The boys arrived back in Korea very early the day after Dinah gave birth. Exhausted and half-asleep, they piled into a van to be driven to Jade's apartment where she and Min-Jae were staying. Jade and (y/n) had set up a crib the previous morning to try to calm their nerves and to help Dinah and Min-Jae adjust until they got the chance to baby-proof Dinah's apartment, a task that had been conveniently given out to Jade and Namjoon by (y/n), supposedly to give them a chance to talk about the new and unexpected member of their family.

Yoongi, for the first time any of the boys could remember, was too excited to sleep. He was bouncing around as Tae was wont to do, rocking back and forth in his seat as he pressed his cheek to the window and watched the city fly by, a half-formed melody playing on repeat in the back of his head. He was excited to meet his little Min-Jae, a baby that had already become his phone's background, ready to teach him the way of his father's swag.

The other members were all asleep, or close to it, in the backseat of the black vehicle when the van pulled up in front of Jade's apartment complex, and they slowly and sleepily got out. Following an excited Yoongi, Namjoon led the others up to her apartment and knocked on the door.

A sleepy Jade opened the door, dressed in yet another one of Namjoon's sweaters, and welcomed them inside of her small apartment.

"Morning baby," Namjoon said, snaking an arm around her waist and pressing a kiss to the top of her head.

"Mmf," Jade murmured, far too tired to construct understandable sentences, instead sinking into his side and listening to his heart beat.

"Jade, where's Dinah?" Yoongi asked, looking around the room as though she would appear from one of the walls, or perhaps the couch covered in a pile of blankets.

"Main bedroom," she muttered before burying her face in Namjoon's side and all but falling asleep again.

Yoongi made his way down the hall quietly, careful not to wake Dinah or Min-Jae. He opened the door to the main bedroom slowly, poking his head in to make sure he hadn't woken anyone up. Crossing quietly and cat-like across the room, he stopped in front of the crib, taking in his sleeping son. Tears came to his eyes as he noticed how much like him the child looked, and he gripped the edge of the crib.

It was different to see his son in person, not through a computer screen. He had never felt so much at one time; his heart swelling with love for both his child and his girlfriend.

Yoongi remained standing at the crib for what seemed to be ages to the rest of the members, who were seated on the couch and, when there wasn't enough room for them, on the floor.

Jade was sprawled out on the floor, head in Namjoon's lap and ready to pass out once more, wishing for the sweet release of REM sleep to surround her and take her worries away.

"Missed you," she murmured, half within her dream world, "Have to tell you something."

"I missed you too," Namjoon replied, equally tired and ready to return to sleep.

Taehyung had gone looking for you, knowing you weren't awake, but hoping to see you and spend some time with you before the boys had to leave for their next concert date. The fact that they had a few days to spend in Korea was a fluke, a single lucky break in their schedule.

He eventually found you in Jade's spare bedroom. You were sprawled out across the bed, legs tangled in the bedsheets, snoring softly on the pillow. He was overcome with a rush of affection for you, and sat down delicately on the bed next to you, beginning to stroke your hair soothingly.

You stirred at his touch, eyes slowly blinking open, but still mostly asleep, reaching for his hand.

"Stay," you whispered to him, and his eyes widened at how conscious you sounded.

Pulling him down next to you in the small double bed, he laid his head on the pillow beside you, unsure of how to continue in this situation.

"You know," you whispered, sleep-drunk and giggling, "I really like you."

"I like you, too," he whispered back, slowly and cautiously wrapping an arm around your waist; you surprised him by cuddling closer to him, tucking your head under his chin.

"No, I like, really really like you," you whispered again, sounding a bit like a middle schooler admitting that she had a crush on someone.

Taehyung was surprised at your forwardness in your half-asleep delirious state. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. Good night," you replied breathily.

"Good night."

Jade and Namjoon, after waking up, left to go to Dinah's house to baby-proof it. The ride to Dinah's apartment was easy and lighthearted. Conversation in the car never faltered, and any silences were far from awkward.

Jade, aside from freaking out about having to tell Namjoon that she was pregnant, couldn't help but think that it was ironic that she was going to prevent a home from hurting a baby with one of the most destructive people she had ever met.

Pulling into the parking complex, Jade felt the need to get sick again. Morning sickness, she thought, her jaw clenching, more like all day sickness.

She swallowed down her nausea and tried to focus on parking the small car, pretending that pulling into the parking space took all of her concentration.

She and Namjoon exited the car, pulling bags of safety locks out of the back seat, along with foam corner covers in plastic grocery bags.

Jade unlocked Dinah's front door, dropping the bags on the floor and flopping onto the couch in a combination of exhaustion and hormones. She glanced around, trying to decide where in the apartment to start baby-proofing.

Namjoon could tell that something other than Min-Jae was on her mind, but he couldn't place exactly what it was. He noticed that she was carrying herself differently, more unsure and cautious in her steps. As smart as he was, Jade knew that he wouldn't be able to figure out why she was acting so distant.

"I think we should start in the kitchen and then move on to the bedroom afterwards," she said.

They worked in complete silence, side-by-side as they locked cabinets shut and placed foam covers on the corners of the cabinetry.

The silence, however, was becoming far too much for Jade, and she was subconsciously tapping her fingernails on the countertop.

Tap, tap.

She couldn't take it. He wasn't looking at her, and she didn't know what to do.

Tap, tap.

"Namjoon..."

He glanced up at her, taken aback by the uncertainty and nervousness in her voice.

"I'm pregnant."

He blinked at her for a moment. "You're what?"

"Oh god. You're mad. I knew you were going to be mad. Oh, god. I'm sorry." She buried her face in her hands and rubbed her eyes tiredly.

"You're... pregnant?"

"I know, I know. I'm sorry."

"You're pregnant."

This time, Jade did not say anything, did not apologize, instead choosing to leave her face in her hands.

"I'm going to be a father?"

"Yeah."

"I'm going to be a father!" He grabbed her around her waist and spun her around a few times.

"Yeah," she laughed, gripping his shoulders in slight fear of being dropped.

He stopped spinning her, putting her down and pulling her in for a blazing kiss.

"God, I love you," she breathed.

"I love you, too."
