I woke up to the familiar, despairingly happy voice of Monokuma, as we did every day now, stuck in this dark school, full of death and despair. Of course, unlike most of everyone else, I'm very used to seeing corpses, being a mortician and all, and an Ultimate on top of that.
"It's a puzzling situation we're stuck in." I mentioned to Azura, speaking with him in the cafeteria after I had already left my room. "It'd be important for us to find out who the one who put us in here and confront them head on, rather than just finding an exit, for they could just come and kidnap us afterwards. Using Monokuma, it sure is possible."
"Yeah, you're right, Shio." Azura said. "Layne, Atsuki and I have been working hard to find out stuff like that."
"It's good that there are some people who are investigating." I said. "The more people, the better chance we have of finding out who's behind all of this."
"Yeah..." Azura said.
Monokuma came on screen and cut him off. "Hello, everyone! Please make your way to the gym! I'll see you all there!" He said, then got off of the screen again.
"Let's go." I said to Azura, then got up and left the cafeteria and went to the gym.
Once everybody was in the gym, Monokuma appeared on the stage, as expected.
"Hello, everyone!" Monokuma said. "I have a nice surprise for you!" He laughed. "Around the school, I have scattered pages of a story! Please go and find them all! I'll see you all later! Upupu~" Monokuma left after that.
"Pages, huh?" Layne said. "I guess we should look for them. It could prove to be some important information."
"Yeah." Mien said. "I'm going to go look for them." After she said that, she just walked out of the gym.
"I'm going too." I said. "The story could give us hints on who's behind this and other mysteries of this school, and I want to find the pages as soon as possible." With that, I left the gym and decided to go upstairs first.
On the second floor, I first checked the ice rink. When checking the lockers, I found a page of a story book with the number eight in the corner. So that means there's at least eight pages to Monokuma's story.
I decided to look in the pool room next, but in there, I came across Mien. "Hello, Mien." I said. "Did you find any pages?"
"Only two. Pages three and five. One was from here. The other was in the workout room." She responded.
"I see... I have page number eight." I said. "It's from the ice rink."
"Thank you for telling me." Mien said. "But there is no more pages here, or in the workout room. So you can leave."
I nodded. "Alright. Thank you for your help Mien." I smiled at her before leaving, but she didn't smile back.
Next I went to the track and, after searching for a bit, I found page number one.
After the track, I went to the dance studio and saw Roy sitting on the ground.
"Roy?" I asked, approaching him. "Still upset over Lucy's death?"
"Yeah..." He responded. "I came here to look for pages and... Got caught up."
"I see..." I said. "I'm sorry. Did you find any pages?"
"Yeah, I found page ten." Roy said.
"Ah, okay. Thanks for telling me." I said. "I hope things get better for you." I smiled at him and then left.
I decided to head downstairs next, but while going down, Azura was coming up.
"Oh, Shio!" Azura said.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Did you get any pages up there?" Azura asked.
"Well, I have one and eight. Roy has ten, and Mien has three and five."
"Ah, that's probably all of them then. Downstairs in the library, we have two, four, six, seven and nine. Go down there, I'll get the others and tell them to come too." Azura said, then ran upstairs.
I nodded then continued down the stairs and went to the library. In the library, Atsuki, Layne, Anya, Memmorriie, Takahiro, Shingen, Hanae, Jack and Ren were there. So that accounts for them, and Azura is getting Mien and Roy. But where's Chouko then?
Regardless, I put my papers on the table where the rest were.
In a few minutes, Azura entered with Roy and Mien, and then Chouko came a few seconds after them. I'll have to talk to Chouko later.
"Alright everyone," Azura said, "I'll get the pages in order, and then we can read it." Then, he ordered the pages and then layed them out again. "Alright, let's read this then.."
"Hold on!" Monokuma yelled, appearing on the table. "I need to put this back in it's book!"
"In it's book?" Ren asked. "Whatever, just hurry up."
"Don't rush me!" Monokuma yelled. Then, he pulled out a book cover with his red eye on it, and put the pages in in order. "There we go! Now, let me read you my fantastic story!"
A bunch of people sighed, then Monokuma laughed and opened his book.
The first page showed a small sapling barely sprouted out of the ground with light shining on it. Monokuma read off the words. "Once, there was a little sapling!" Monokuma laughed after that.
He turned the page, and page two showed a little redish orange cat. "And, there was also a little cat!" Monokuma read.
Monokuma turned the page again, and this page showed both the cat and the sapling with a heart between them. "And the cat loved the sapling very much!" Monokuma read, laughing again.
The next page showed the cat and a witch together. Monokuma read the words again. "One day, the cat met a witch!"
Monokuma flipped to page five. This page showed the same thing, but the witch and cat were happy-looking now. "After they met, the witch decided to befriend the cat!"
Monokuma flipped the page again, and the next page showed the cat looking sad and the witch laughing. Monokuma read the words, "However, the witch betrayed the cat!" Monokuma laughed.
He continued to a page that showed a strange creature the same color of the cat's fur. Monokuma read, "The witch had turned the cat into a monster!"
Monokuma continued to the next page, which showed the witch using magic on the monster. Monokuma read the words. "And, the witch took control of the monster!"
Monokuma turned to the ninth page and read, "Then, the witch controlled the monster and made him kill the little sapling!" Monokuma laughed. This page showed the monster stomping on the sapling. Monokuma laughed.
The final page Monokuma turned to showed the monster's face, which showed no emotion, and had Monokuma's red eye now. "And the monster was now forever evil!" Monokuma laughed more.
"Th-That's..." Roy started.
"The end!" Monokuma yelled, closing the book and laughing. "I hope that story was enjoyable for you all!" Monokuma laughed, then left.
After he left, he came on the screens and gave us our nighttime announcement, so then lots of people started to leave, looking confused.
I ran to catch up with Chouko. "Hey, Chouko?" I asked.
"Huh?" Chouko said.
"Why were you late to the library?" I asked.
"Oh, I was just drawing. Azura got me on the way here." He responded.
"Oh, alright..." I said, and he left to his room.
I went to my room and got into bed, thinking about what could possibly be the reason for that motive, and how that would make someone do something like murder.
