I'm not gonna lie.. I was fuming when Nick arrived.. I was preparing myself to completely lose my mind and it was taking everything in me to not do so and respect my parents..
But when he gave me the phone and said what he said, my level of furiousness decreased like it fell on a well..
I continued looking at him in disbelief after what he told me.. not really believing I could talk with the girl..
We stayed in the cafe for a long time but I didn't dare touch his phone.. I was kind of still in disbelief until he incentivated me again
- Nick, I can't do it! - I laughed as he handed me his phone again
- Yes you can, want me to start it? - He asked chuckling
The sun was starting to set so we were just walking through the streets seeing the various stores and with many people passing by
He started texting her saying "Hey.. how are you?"
I chuckled - Day one, she doesn't suspect a thing - I joke making him laugh
He shakes his head and the phone instantly rings indicating that he received a text message. he handed me the phone unblocking it and I read her answer
"Hey Nick! I'm better now ;) how are you?"
My mouth widened and Nick peaked, chuckling as he did it
- She's hitting on you!
- No she's not!! - he giggled
- Yeah she is! - I say - "I'm better now" with a winky face! - I say pointing at it - she's definitely hitting on you
- Well.. answer her.. - he smirked
I looked back at the phone and typed
"And why are you better now? :)"
"Because I'm talking to you.. ;)"
Nick busts out laughing and I shake my head smiling
- You talked to a girl who had a crush on you for a day, probably flirting with you, while I was there?! - I ask and he chuckles
- If she was indeed hitting on me, I didn't even acknowledged it - he said wrapping his hand around my waist - but I'm sorry for talking to her..
I looked back down and smirked - Oh.. now I'm going to bring this bitch down - I say to myself and started typing
"You know what?.. my girlfriend broke up with me.."
I look up to wait for her answer and see my mom and Nick's mom smirking at us and turning around
- I think they know - I whisper to Nick
He chuckled and brought me closer while kissing my head - They always know everything - he answered
I nodded and looked at the phone
- She's not answering..
Nick shrugged and Joe came closer to us to tell us about something funny he saw
Frankie and Maddie have been bugging him for the entire day which was pretty funny on itself but I lost it when he told us that Frankie mistook him for another guy and pranked the other guy thinking it was Joe
Delta finally answered "Really? Why? How are you? :("
We continued the conversation and I started to pretend that I was Nick flirting with her..
We stopped by the beach being completely dark now.. our entire families were all leaning against the boarder between the ground and the sand.. I was sitting on it turned towards Joe while Nick was by his side and then behind me were Frankie and Maddie..
Our parents told us to stay there looking out for the kids while both our moms went to a clothes shop and our fathers went to a cafe to get ice cream
Since neither Maddie or Frankie wanted to walk, we stayed where we were and that's when she showed up
- Hey guys - I heard Delta instantly freaking out since I had Nick's phone in my hand
Nick looked at her and she smiled creepily at him.. her expression of a lion who just found its meal
- Hey Delta - Joe finally said breaking the silence
- Hey.. We've never met.. I'm..
- Emily.. my best friend - Nick quickly interrupted - and this is my brother Joe
I looked confused at Nick as Delta turned her attention to me - Hey.. it's great to meet his best friend.. I'm Delta
I smiled politely and stood up - I'm.. Emily..
- You were at the pool right? You were the one who ruined the fun.. - she giggled turning towards Nick
I nodded - Yup.. that was me.. Emily
She laughed and sat next to Nick putting a hand on his arm - Are you ok? How have you been?
From the corner of my eye, I see Joe turn around to look at me.. I whispered at his ear "Just go with it" and he nodded
- Demi, where's dad? - I heard my sister ask
- Dad's buying ice cream.. stay still Maddie.. - I say cringing once I processed that she called my name
- Emy, can we talk for a second? - I heard Nick say
I turn around and nodded as we both stood up.. once we were far away enough we both busted out laughing
- That save was genious Nicholas! - I say putting a hand on his shoulder
- We should do something to make her jealous - he said
I looked back to where Joe and the others were and realized Delta was staring
- Ok, lets hug - I said
He smiled at me looking me in the eyes and hugged me kissing my head
- I love you Demi.. and this "game" is amazing - he whispered in my ear
I nodded and pulled back - It certainly is.. but how do you get rid of her now?
- I don't know.. she didn't have instructions - he said making me laugh
We hugged again and balanced feom side to side.. from the distance, I see our moms come back with many bags
- Mom's there.. we can just tell her we have to go
He nodded and walked back.. being Nick the one who broketge news to Delta
She flirted a little more saying that she would see him around, etc..
We walked away from her and explained everything.. he started laughing at our prank and swore secrecy
That summer was a good summer.. we finally told our family we were together and they were happy for us... a little too happy if you ask me..
We kept prnking Delta but once we came from LA, we stopped it..
The next few days were just spent at home.. they were pretty calm.. and Nick would always come and hang out with me..
One day...
