Recap:

After a couple more of gushing coming from her. "Mom, what happened to me? Why am I here? Why don't I remember anything?" I questioned her. I had so many questions to ask her but the only thing I really wanted to know was what happened to me. She was about to speak but was stopped by a knock  on the door.

Chapter II

My mom & I looked towards the person who came in with two girls trailing behind him. The guy looked about in his mid-twenties with long-ish brown hair reaching his neck. His eyes were a calming color of chocolate brown & his natural tanned skin showed that he just got home from somewhere hot. The girls behind him looked quite identical maybe sisters. I didn't get to think through what they could be to each other when the man spoke in a deep but  cheerful voice.

"Hey man! Nice to see you've open those pretty eyes of yours." he said.

I chuckled at his statement, having absolutely nothing to reply at his comment.

"See! See! I still got my humour on & you two thought I could only ruin such a wonderful day." he pouted slightly & one of the girls just rolled her eyes at him. The other one though was staring at me with a curious expression on her face. She looked younger than the other girl with long brown curls & dark green eyes. However, she had a rounded face just like the other one.

"Uhmm.. Hi, I'm your goddaughter. Dad said you had quite a bump on your head that you might have memory loss of some sort." she said with a quiet voice that I could hardly hear.

"Oh. Uhh.. Yea, I don't remember much of anything. All I know is that I woke up in a hospital bed just a few hours ago & that that she," I pointed to my mother. "Is my mother. That's about what I could tell you."

"Oh. Uhh.." she looked down in such a way that made me want to tell her to tell me what was wrong. But I couldn't..

"Well, then since we're all here. Let's all get to know each again!" the guy said with such enthusiasm that you couldn't help but be affected by it. This guy could make one's life really happy, I thought.

"Hey, I'm Kendall. This is my wife, Alexia." he gestured to the girl on his right. "And this is my daughter, your goddaughter, Audrey." then to his left.

"Hi, nice to meet you all. I suppose you know who I am & that I'm sorry I have no memories of you guys. But I bet Audrey here is the best goddaughter anyone is going to have." I replied with a smile. I couldn't help but say something to her, her sad face is just so frustrating knowing that I was the cause of it. We must've been really close for someone to react like that.

Instantly, like someone switched on the nub she smiled a shy smile up to me making me smile in return.

"So, how are you doing?" Alexia asked. She has long blonde hair & dark green eyes with a rounded face making her look like a moon. But she has a most polite smile I could have remembered seeing.

"I'm doing fine, thanks. You guys? Looks like all of you just got home from your vacation." I stated.

"We j-just.." Kendall was about to reply when a knock came from the door. A nurse came in with a tray of food which does not look appetizing at all. It looked slobby & sluggish in all kind of ways.

"I'm sorry sir, ma'am but visiting hours have just ended. Sadly, no one is allowed to stay the night. Hospital rules." she looked sympathetically at us. Seeing as we all were just getting to know each other.

"Nah, it's okay. We'll just visit tomorrow, man. Feel better, ya hear?" he said in a funny accent. He leaned & gave me the man-hug thing then headed outside. Both Alexia & Audrey gave me a kiss on the cheek then waved good-bye. My mom was the last to move, she gave me a big hug telling me not to hurt myself  when I move, eat well but that she'd cook me some proper food when she gets back in the morning, I laughed at that at least I wasn't the only one who thought it was disgusting & that I should try to dream happy dreams tonight. I nodded throught her whole speech until she got to the door & waved good-bye.

The nurse stood through the whole exchange just watching us with an amused look on her face. "I have  always seen family so close to one another but this is different.. It's with humour, in a way." she said still with the amused look. I smiled at her when she handed me my tray of food. I felt my face turn a bit from the sight of the tray she must've seen it because I heard her laughed quietly to herself. When I looked up she held her hand for my tray & I gladly gave it back to her.

"Does turkey sandwich sound good to you?" she asked, still smiling at me.

"Yea, why?"

She just shaked her head then went out of the room.

It took a few minutes before she got back with a more appetizing meal on the tray. Once she laid it on the table I saw that it was a turkey sandwich, a mango float on the side & a soda bottle.

Now, this is what you call a meal.

"I totally agree with you there." she smiled. Oh shoot, did I say that out loud? I grinned sheepishly at her, making her smile.

"Uhh.. Thanks for this. It truly is better than the first one. I'm Erik, by the way." I held out my hand for her to shake.

"I know. I am your nurse. I'm Daisie." she said as she took my hand & shook it. "Well, it's getting late I should leave you to yourself." she informed me & smiled on her way to the door.

"Wait, do you mind keeping me company?" I asked.

"Uhh.. Sorry. I need to be in my post when they make their rounds." she explained & headed out.

I was left with my turkey sandwich. Alone. I never really felt so alone before I really pity the people who feel this way at least I have people who will be visiting me again in a few hours. I looked at the wall clock above the door & was shocked that it was only eight in the evening.

"Gahh.. Fourteen hours?!" I hissed to myself. What am I going to do in fourteen hours? I guess I could sleep but I feel so awake I don't think I have a sleepy bone in my body.

I sighed knowing that sleep would eventually come to me but I'll think about that later. I finished my sandwich during my alone time & I was about to dig in my mango float when the door opened. Daisie came in with a small box in her hand.

"Hey?" I said, sounding unsure of myself. She looked like someone who just got out her prison cell.

"Oh! Hey, I thought you would be asleep by now." she stated.

"Well, it's still eight so don't expect me to fall asleep that early." I replied, smiling. "Anyway, you look like you're sneaking out or something. Are you?"

"Well, I thought I could keep you company for a few hours because I asked my friend if he could cover for my shift since the boss won't be back at six in the morning tomorrow." she said, chuckling to herself.

"But why do you look like those people in Mission Impossible 'ey?" I feigned shock, trying to keep my laughter at bay at how she looked.

"Oh." she laughed. "I was avoiding the cameras all the way to your room. Do you know that it takes a lot of steps to get here. I mean, come on, that means.." she trailed off, flicking out her fingers, counting. "More than five cameras each hall." she continued.

I laughed, I couldn't believe that I thought she was the shy type of girl. "Impressive Agent Daisie, I never thought you could make it that far." I said in a authorative voice sounding like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible.

"Thank you, sir." she replied with a small cursty. We laughed at our exchange & when it died down she sat beside me on the chair near the bed. This is the time first that I get to study her. Her hair was in a messy bun but I could tell that it was just below the shoulder blades. She eyes warm chocolate brown eyes matching her hair perfectly. She was smiling at me with a knowing look on her face. I looked down this time embarrassed at staring at her for too long.

"It's okay. I had my share of staring at you." she said in a comforting voice making me all the more embarrassed at myself.

"Uhh.."

She laughed at me this time. I think I felt myself burn up of embarrassement. I chuckled nervously, was this the way I acted around girls before? I thought to myself. If that is, then this is going to be a long night.

"Heey.. Do you want to me to go? It's okay, you know. Just tell me." she cooed, smiling.

"No, no. It's just.. I wouldn't know what to talk about or do at the time being. I just thought that I could get some company." I said.

"Oh. Well, we could do twenty questions. Just a suggestion or we could tell stories about our lives." she suggested.

"Let's go with twenty questions."

"You know, they call it twenty questions but it always exceeds more than twenty or less than." she stated, smiling.

"I don't really have any idea." I replied, grinning sheepishly.

"Huh? Why?"

"It's kind of hard to explain & I don't even know where to start." I explained.

She looked at the her watch & her face brightened. "Well, we have all night if you ask me. Let's start with our game shall we?" She said breaking the tension I built myself at how to start the story of my life.

I laughed at her enthusiasm. "We shall." I said, smiling. I thought wrong, this is going to be a fun night.
