i used to live in the world.
but then my heart was broken
and i started building.
brick after brick,
i built myself a wall.
and i shoved my tears and anger
into the cracks.
i can't get hurt anymore;
the sadness can't push through.
but now i realise
i miss sunsets
and laughing.
because the wall blocks out the bad,
but it's too high to see over.
i'm imprisoned by my own defences.
and i'm alone in here.
