" Who's that ?" Asked Balm, Her hair was shinier than before that it matched her hand bag that was hanging from her arm, It was purple and it was covered in diamonds.
" Kababata ko " Sabi ko.
" I don't care, her name is?" She asked as she got closer to me. I noticed that she's wearing heels again.
" How's your feet ?" Sabi ko.
" Why are you changing the topic? Who's that girl ?" She asked.
" Bakit kailangan mong malaman? " Sabi ko.
" Bakit mo tinanong kung okay lang paa ko? ...tsk" She laughed then she grinned at me, one of the reasons why I can't be with this girl. "See, Ezra I can play this game all day pero tandaan mo, You owe me" Sabi nya saakin, with range filling her eyes.
" Hindi mo sinabi na birthday mo" Sabi ko.
" You should atleast know and kahit sabihin ko sayo, it wouldn't change a thing would it?" Sabi nya.
" Maybe it will..." Sabi ko.
We were both quiet, she looked annoyed at nakikita ko movement ng chest nya she was hyperventilating until tears came out from her eyes.
" Ezra, Wala lang ba sayo lahat lahat ?....kahit yung one year of arranged relationship? " Sabi nya.
Hindi ko alam gagawin ko, Hindi ko alam sasabihin ko, Nakatingin lang ako sa kanya pero namamawis ang mga kamay ko, then it turned into fists.
" Ezra, Minahal mo ba ako? " She asked.

I was lost at words at napanganga ako konti, sineryoso nya yun? Wala lang man yun, the cold hearted girl is actually crying in front of me.
" Kahit konti ?" Sabi nya, tears continously shed from her eyes , my heart was beating fasy and it felt like breaking. I felt sorry and I didn't know what to do.
Ano gagawin ko? Ano sasabihin ko? Ano na?
" Balm " Yan lang nasabi ko, she wiped away her tears and she stood up straight.
" Okay lang ang mga paa ko thanks for asking, I'll go now " Sabi nya without looking at me.
There she goes, she was walking fast away from me. I was still speechless and frozen.
I felt bad about it pero ano magagawa ko, ayoko naman magsinungaling sa kanya or paasahin sya mabuti nang manahimik nalang muna ako and let her sort out her feelings, she is young anyway.

I had free time, I should be studying right now but I felt like hanging out with my friends dahila ng tagal ko na silang hindi nakita plus the event that happened earlier.
Nag billiard kami, and fred and klaud are drinking pero ako hindi.
" Dapat nandun ka sa graduation namin ni Klaud ha" Sabi ni Fred.

The two stopped movinf from their positions and they were looking at me as if I'm some sort of criminal or whatever.
" Problema mo si Balm ?" Sabi ni Klaud.
" Di ko alam gagawin ko, Nilapitan nya ako kanina at yun pala sineryoso nya relasyon namin dati. Alam nya naman na arranged lang yun " Sabi ko.
" She is younger. Pero, why can't you like her? Maraming nakapila sa kanya consider yourself lucky" Sabi nya, Sinisiko ako ni Fred at tinuturo si Klaud gamit nguso nya. Nabasted he mouther pertaining to Klaud.
" Di nya daw ako type " Klaud shook his head sabay yuko.

" Siguro meron naman akong konting pagtingin sa kanya ?" Sabi ko.
" That's the spirit! " Sabi ni Fred. " Try to be friends with her, maybe she's not that bad " Dagdag nya, sabay pat sa likod ko.

Have you ever met someone and felt like they're really the one for you that they are designed especially for you. Ganung pakiramdam na parang mas sigurado ka pa sa kanya kesa sa sagot mo sa exam, at di mo mapigilan na isipin sya.
" 5,6,7" Sabi nya bawat pindot nya sa pagbilang ng pimples ko. " Paano ba yan, mas maganda ka ng 7 times ngayong araw " Sabi nya saakin with his eye smile, ako naman eto namamatay sa kilig.
Today is the day for the Interschool competition to take place. Merong four Univerisities ; Alestair University ( AU ) The University of Notre Dame (UND ), Nicolás Sàntiago University ( NSU ) and Maùricio University ( MU ).
We're here at the large dome of UND, It was white and the theme is white, puros white din suot nila parang nasa langit na kami ni Junior, We asked permission to take pictures of the students for documentation. We interviewed some of the students and we looked for seats as the competition is about to begin.
Merong 5 na podiums, One for the MC and 4 for the Universities. May lamesa sa harap nila na may 4 seats, it's for the panel. Sa likod ng bawat podium may limang upunan and I guess that it's for the selected students for the job.
My eyes searched for kuya Ezra pero hindi ko sya makita.

Nag buzz ang taga Alestair, Si Abileene Florida"Keratin" sabi nya ,It was the easy round of the quiz bee. Nakita ko na si kuya Ezra, He rarely answers. Sa easy round, kahit sino lang pwede mag buzz at mag answer, they are allowed to choose a representative at pwedeng paulit ulit, But in the intermed
diate round, they take turns.

It was a tough competition, Nakakita lang ako ng ganito sa mga quizbee ng mga engineering students, difference is they solve math problems.
Sa final round na eliminate na ang MU at ang NSU.
For the final round, crucial sya, You have fifteen minutes to write down the pathophysiology of the specific disease. They are allowed to choose two participants per college.
Sa Alestair University they chose, Ezekiel Yang and Vanessa Ruiz, while sa University of Notre Dame, Si Enchong Usman at Andrea Usman.
Nilagay na ang white board sa harap where they are opposite to each other, magkatalikod ang mga white board sa isa't isa para di nila makita or makakuha pa ng idea.
" Write the pathophysiology of Chronic kidney disease " Sabi ng MC.
Medyo nabobore na ako sa buhay ko kanina pero ngayon, parang kinakabahan na ang mga student body na taga Alestair at Notre dame.
You can see their hands turn into fists yung iba napapatayo na sa upuan, it was crucial.
They were given five minutes to discuss before write down for 15 minutes.
"And start" Sabi ng MC.
Ang tahimik na crowd, napasigaw at nag cheer na, feeling the place with adrenaline with a sense of fear. It is the battle of the Nursing school, Nasa kamay na ni Ezekiel Yang at Vanessa Ruiz and pangalan ng school.
He was sweating really bad, He was writing really fast, he's actually focused sa ginagawa nya, they wrote it in a diagram form with arrows.

Ang mga students na 15 minutes pumigil ng hininga, kitang kita mo na nakahinga na sila ng malalim pero it doesn't end here, The proctors will assess the pathophysiology thoroughly and they will compute the scores.
The pathophysiology must be understandable and it must make sense, The panel are allowed to ask three sets of questions, pero in this one hindi sila naka mic and doon lang sila sa harap, the boards are now seperated at different sides. The crowd is not able to hear the questions asked which is more nervewracking.
The crowd applauded, kitang kita na pagod na ang mga lumaban na students and they made it this far, kung ako man yun okay na saakin makasama sa finals. I was watching attentively and I was excited, kinakabahan din ako pero something inside me says that Alestair will win, Si kuya Ezra na din yan. Si Junior naman sa tabi ko, Nagbabasa ng libro throughout the competition.
The panel were thoroughly assessing the final output. Iniwan ko muna si Junior at lumapit ako banda sa harap with my camera, I waved at kuya Ezra and he waved back.
Mukha syang kalma sa facial expression nya pero alam kong kinakabahan din sya dahil di sya mapakali.
After the panel judged the other university, there was a moment of silence bago nagsalita ang MC.
" The panel of judges will now tabulate the scores, May the odds be ever in your favor " Sabi nya.
After nun, Bumalik muna ang mga students sa respected seats sila per Univeristy, Nilapitan ko si Kuya Ezra.
" Hello! " Sabi ko as I waved at him.
" Hi " Sabi nya, pawis na pawis sya at napansin ko nag shashake ang pupils nya.
" SMILE!" Sabi ko as I take a stolen shot. " Sama ka sa classmates mo ,picturan ko kayo " Sumunod naman sya and he sat on his assigned seat. I counted 1,2,3 and took shots for documentation and for my precious article to promote me to level 5.
" And now , the moment we've all been waiting for " Sabi ng MC. It felt like the most important event in history. Nakakaapekto to sa reputation at excellency ng school. Nandito pa ako to take notes, mas maganda naman na pagandahin lalo ang magandang balita kesa pagandahin ang average or below average. Wala din naman ako sa lugar upang mag judge pero, I believe in our school and the products that they produce and the soon to be nurses na nasa harapan ko ngayon.
The MC recognized the panel of judges and the head of the hospital, the head nurse, senior nurses and the chief nurse. Nag speech din ang Doctor na in charge sa affiliates. Then we returned to that feeling, the high level of anxiety, anticipating.
Una , ang mga recognition for the other two universities were done, Fourth ang Mauricio and Third ang Nicholas Santiago University.
Nilapitan ako si Raymond, the one who's shooting the whole thing, he is a member of the producers and I checked up on him. Si Junior kasi nagbabasa padin ng libro doon sa upuan nya, hindi ko din sya magulo.
Si kuya Ezra, Kalma lang As expected . Pero, mga kaklase nya naka abang, ako din naman naka abang. Sabi ng MC ang i a- announce nya agad ay ang winner; according to him lamang ng 4 points ang nanalo na team.
Without any thrill agad nyang sinabi ang " Alestair University" . Yung iba na talga Alestair na pa hiyaw, ang iba loading at napanganga. " Panalo tayo?" Tanong ko kay Raymond, he just shrugged hindi din sya sure.
Pero, Naghingi ng representative ang Alestair University at ang lumapit ay teacher nila at tinawag si Kuya Ezra to receive the certificate and pagtake ng picture.
I gave kuya Ezra a thumbs up, ang mga students are in awe, di padin nag sink in sa kanila, wala man lang thrill, kahit drum roll, sinabi lang ng MC agad.

After congratulating each other, pagkatapos ng program I looked for Kuya Ezra sa labas ng University.
" Congrats!!!!" I hugged him pero he didn't hug me back, Si Junior naman sinundan lang ako.
" Thank you" He smiled.
" Ahh, Si Junior nga pala " Sabi ko.
" Hi, I'm Junior " Sinara ni Junior ang libro nya at nakipag shake hands sya kay Ezra.
" Ez " Sabi nya.
" Libre mo ako " Sabi ko kay Ezra.
" Hmm, sige ano gusto nyo? " Tanong ni Ezra.
" Pizzaaaaaaaaa, Ikaw Junior? " Sabi ko.
" Gale, May lakad pala ako kailangan ko na umalis, mauna na ako ahh...ingat ka, Ez maiwan ko na kayo ahh" Sabi nya, Sabay tago ng libro sa bag nya.
Umalis na si Junior at kami nalang ni kUya Ezra ang naiwan.
" Uwi muna ako bihis lang ako saglit " Sabi ni Ezra.

Sinamahan ko muna sya umuwi para magbihis, Naka white uniform kasi sya kanina at gusto nya magpalit ng casual clothes bago kumain.
" Dito maganda ilagay ang frame ng certificate " Sabi ko, referring to the space on the wall sa kitchen nya banda, para pag nag aagahan sya makita nya yun tapos ma inspire sya mag aral.
" Tsaka ko na ipaframe " Sabi nya.
" Ayaw mo magpadeliver nalang? " Tanong ko. Kasi pagod sya alam ko, at ako naman parang tinatamad na lumabas.
" Pwede rin" Sabi nya.

" Mabait, makulit at masunurin, yun lang natandaan ko " Sabi nya " Lumaki na ulo mo nyan?"
" Hindi ahh, humble pa din ako " I smiled.
" Paano mo nakukuhang ngumiti lagi?" Tanong nya. Binaba nya ang console at nag seryoso na sya bigla.
" Uhh...well tinanong ko din yan kay mommy kasi ang magulang namin ,lagi nakangiti kahit nahihirapan sila. Sabi nila, kapag pinakita mong matatag ka at malakas, nagiging matatag at malakas ka nadin kahit nihihirapan ka na talaga" Sabi ko. "Tsaka si kuya talaga masayahin at palabiro, He's the type of person who loves to spread happiness and yun din gusto ko " I smiled.
