As I ran down the street chasing after Giza and Aaron something caught my eye. I slowed down slightly and saw a man and women crying and hurrying into Mrs. Podgorski's house. It seemed very strange to me because there is nothing to be sad about today, everything is perfect, but I didn't stop to futher investigate, instead I continued in our game of tag.
Aaron was very far ahead, but Giza was close enough for me to press my palm against her shoulder.
"Your it!" I cryed as I turned around and ran the in the opposite direction of her.
"Aaron, Holly!" she called out stopping.
I ran up to her just as Aaron came to a stop.
"I don't want to play anymore." she stated.
"Ok we ca..." I started, but was cut off by the sound of my father's car coming around the corner.
"Father's home!" I squealed, about to hurry home when I remembered my manners. "Sorry Giza we'll see you tomorrow." I said as me and Aaron sprinted home.
"How was your day children?" mother asked us later that night.
" It was great. We played tag with Giza and we danced in my room to the record player and we had chocolate chip cookies her mother made." I said nearly in one breath.
"Well, I am glad you had an exciting day, but tomorrow you are will stay home and
do your chores, remember."
" Yes mother," Aaron and I sighed in unison.
"Alright children time for bed," father said walking into the room.
"Night mother, night father," I said as I started to climb the stairs to my bedroom, but then a thought came to my head. "Mother, did you see those people going into Mrs. Podgorski's house today?"
"What people Holly?"
" The ones who were crying and Mrs. Podgorski was hurrying them into her house. I saw them when I was playing tag with Aaron and Giza, right before father came home."
Mother looked at father with a worried expression, but then quickley added, "It was nothing child now hurry to your room and get ready for bed. Goodnight."
"Alright goodnight mother," I said as I turned and finished up the stairs.
