I start getting ready backstage as I start drinking bottles of water to get my throat and vocal cords ready for tonight. As I stare into the party crowd I start to think about my own future. If all goes well, I'll be looking at a career as a singer and have my own EP soon.
Because tonight is my first appearance, I wanted to make it iconic so I'm dressed up in all black: Black distressed Skinny jeans with black fishnet stockings underneath, black shirt, and a black leather jacket.
"Drake." I hear Ollie's voice coming from behind me and I turn around and stare at him as he holds a bouquet of flowers. I haven't seen him in awhile and it's shocking to see him here.
"Ollie." I say with a small smile as I stare at him and he continues to walk. I didn't even think anyone would show up and seeing him here makes me glad he did. I walk up to him and jump into his arms.
Ollie gladly hugs me and then let's go of me. "How did you know I was going to be here tonight?" I ask him and he raises an eyebrow.
"I heard about it around the streets." He says with a small smile and then hands me some flowers. "This is for you." He says and I grab the flowers and smell them as they smell nice and sweet.
"Thanks." I say and smile as we stare at each other awkwardly. "So how is the whole Damien Darhk thing going on?" I ask him to start up a conversation.
"It be nice if you joined in the fight." He says still wanting me in.
"I know how much it means to Laurel, but I'm not quite sure if it's what I really want to do." I tell him and he nods his head. "As much as I want to, I just don't think I should."
"Why do you think you shouldn't?" Ollie asks me as he gets closer to me.
"Because I'm not Laurel." I tell him. "I'm not the light that she was. I've seen and done so many things these last 3 years and taking her place, her shoes... it's the last thing I want to do to disrespect her."
"Drake." He says starring at me with a small smile. "I've never met someone so brave and bold in my life and that's a lot coming from me. You don't have to be the light that Laurel was, and if you think being the Black Canary is supposed to be like Laurel you're wrong. The Black Canary mantle has been passed on from Sara, an assassin, to Laurel, a badass D.A, and now to you, a kicking and screaming singer." He says and he's making a point. I can be Black Canary. A new Black Canary.
"Thanks Ollie." I say to him as I hug him tightly. Ollie's big arms wrap around me and hug me tighter than anything.
"Black Canary! They're ready for you." A man with a headset yells at me and I let go of Ollie. Ollie raises an eyebrow really confused at me.
"Black Canary?"
"I know Laurel wanted me to street fight for her, but I know she always wanted me to be a singer. So I decided to be Black Canary in that way." I say and turn to stare at the stage. "For Laurel." I say and I walk towards the pitch black stage.
I stand by the microphone stand and the purple lights I wanted start to light the stage up.

I'm waiting for it, that green light, I want it!" I sing and smile at the stage as the greens lights turn on and shine on me.
I stare at the audience and hear everyone cheering for me. I look around and see Ollie there smiling at me. I smile back at him until I see an aggressive man pushing people out of the way to get in the front.
He looks very suspicious as he wears sunglasses in a pitch black club. I continue to stand there and watch the guy. The next song I'm going to perform starts playing but I can't help focus on the suspicious man as he gets closer.
I grab the wired microphone as a weapon incase and start singing. As I continue to sing the crowd dances and I do too but the man pulls out a gun and as he does the club lights start to flash.
"Get down!" I yell at everyone through the microphone and I jump to the side. Everyone gets down and the man shoots a bullet towards me but misses terribly.
The lights continue to flash and it's hard to see. I finally spot the suspicious guy and I quickly run towards him. I get behind him, and kick his spine. I quickly wrap the microphone wire around him and pull him to the ground.
I hear the doors open and see 3 guys but with electric batons. I pose ready to fight out of this one as Ollie must've left. The songs continue to play and I quickly dash to middle one. I slide underneath the middle one's legs and punch him in the privates. I kick his legs and grab his batons and shock him and he's down.
I hear a bow string and an arrow flies through one of the other baton holders. 1 more left. I quickly scream at the other and watch the guy fly through the air and crash into a wall.
Green Arrow jumps down from the glass roof and lands next to me. "Sorry I'm late." He says and I throw the electric baton to the floor.
"Who are these people?" I ask him and walk to one of the men. I raise one up in the air as he starts to regain his conscious.
"HIVE. Darhk's men." Ollie responds to me and I look at the man angry.
"What are you doing here?" I yell as I growl like an animal. The man gets scared of me and that's good.
"Darhk put a price on your head! We're just bounty hunters!" The man speaks and then I squint my eyes at him. "How much did he pay you?" I ask him wanting answers.
The man doesn't respond and is just completely brain dead. I breathe in heavily and Ollie puts his hands on my shoulder to stop me.
"No matter how loud you scream, it won't make them talk." Ollie tells me and I throw a punch at the man and leave on the floor. I get up from the floor and walk away from Ollie feeling darker than usual.
"If Darkh wants to kill me, then I'll just have to make him go through hell." I say in anger and then turn around to see Ollie starring at me. I start hearing police sirens coming from a far to the club and I stare at Ollie.
"I got this Green Arrow." I say to him and he nods.
Ollie quickly leaves through backstage and I'm met with the police officers who stare at the mess of te club I've caused by fighting these guys.
