I remember it as clear as day. I was pushed off the top of the slide at the park. I ran away crying and a teenage girl knelt down to me, her hands on either side of my face and she whispered "Little girl, look at me. Look at me child" I sniffled looking at her and she said "You are kind, you are smart, you are important" She hugged me, then picked me up. She looked at the kids laughing at the top of the slide and shouted "You should be ashamed of yourselves!" And then she took me back to my home. That day I swore to always trust this girl

I was four, and now I'm fourteen and my un-biological sister, my beautiful, loving sister is dead. A drunk driver crashed into her blue truck, she was only 26. She was going to get married in two weeks. She was going to have a normal life, she was going to be so happy! She was-

"Sapphire?"

"What?" I snapped looking up. It was one of her teachers, and she looked really surprised

"A-Are you alright?"

I scoffed standing up from the chair walked off towards the bathroom. Luckily I was alone so I looked in the mirror, seeing a girl with empty dark brown eyes. I sighed putting my weight on my arms that were propped up on the sink. Looking down I tried breathing at a steady pace, but I ended up closing my eyes, tears streaming down like a river, my chest going up and down irregularly, whimpers coming out of my throat. I turned on the cold water to try and drown out the sound of my crying. I wiped my tears away and looked up at the mirror "You are kind, you are smart, you are important"

I looked into the mirror and inspected what I saw. My black hair pulled back in a small ponytail, which was odd because all of my family members has dirty blonde hair. My usually dark brown eyes a bit red from crying, while everyone else has bright blue eyes. I sighed, thinking again if I was adopted, or if it's just recessive genes finally taking control.

"I wish you were here Amanda" I whispered to myself, running out of the bathroom, down the hall, out the door, down the street and into the library. I slid on past the eyes of the nosy librarians, quickly walking into the always deserted part of the giant library. I sat down clutching my knees to my chest, trying to recollect my thoughts. Peering around I saw a dark green book, shoved way way back. It was bigger than a regular sized book but smaller than a really big book. I looked to the left, then to the right, stood up and slowly walked over to the other side, quickly grabbing the book and going back to my spot. I blew off the dust and tried not to cough. Opening it up, there was a preview. It had a hand-drawn picture of a giant tree and it said at the bottom in cursive: 'The more we know about the Past, the better we can prepare ourselves for the Future.'

I turned the page and saw that the book was all about the Norse gods and goddesses. The one that most intrigued me was the god of Mischief, Loki. To the others he was a trickster, but to me, he was just misunderstood, always trying to reach out for attention. I mean, he was taken away at birth by Odin! And he lied to Loki about this for years! How dare Odin do that!

"I know how you feel Loki" I mumbled "I feel misunderstood as well"

"Oh Sapphire!" A voice screeched in a sing-song voice. I jumped in fright, tucking it under my shirt. Her high heels clicked closer so I sneaked past and into the teen section grabbing the book Eclipse

"There you are Saffie" she squealed smiling "I went to pick you up, but you weren't there so I came here" She grabbed my wrist clutching tightly and I whimpered in pain. She yanked me up and dragged me out. She pulled me into the car and we drove off. I sighed going up to my large empty mansion thinking 'Why such a big house when there's only three people?'  I slipped the book under my pillow, went back downstairs to have dinner

We were sitting down silently chewing on smoked salmon when I brought it up "So, did you guys ever dye your hair?"

Mother laughed shrilly and smiled "Silly girl, our hair is too healthy to dye. Dye makes it greasy, likes yours"

"Did grandpa or grandma have black hair then?" I asked looking at father

"No" he snapped "Both my parents have blonde hair"

"What about you?"

"Blonde and beautiful dear" She smiled flicking her hair away smiling

"What about dark brown eyes?" Father slammed his fork down shouting "Dammit Sapphire!" He pointed the knife at me "Why are you being so nosy?"

"I'm just asking a question" I snapped back "Why does it bother you?"

"Do not question me child"

"Calm down!"

"Dammit  Sapphire!" He shouted standing up "You get your sorry ass upstairs right now before I kick you all the way to Mount Olympus!"

"Mount Olympus doesn't exist dad!" I snapped standing up

"You naive little girl" he hissed in a deep terrifying voice. I looked at him scared as he clutched the knife and I ran upstairs. I locked the door behind me, sliding down the wood crying. After a bit I crawled over to my bed, grabbing the book and opening it to the drawing of Loki "If your real, please, help me"

I then heard my dad shout "What is wrong with her?"

"I don't know" My mother sighed. I slowly crawled over to the door, pressing my ear to the wood "Ungrateful. We raised her, we saved her from those Norse" I looked at the book confused, flipping back to the tree again

"If we had just stayed with Juno, he would become a better child.  Boys are always better than girls"

"Shh, just because she's a girl doesn't mean she is stupid. She may soon find out about you and me"

"She'll never find out that we're Gods"

I gasped, and then heard silence. I quickly crawled into bed, covering up to my head, my heart thumping in my ears dying from wait...

...(Freyja's P.O.V)...

...I rushed down the hall towards Loki's room. Pounding on the door I hissed "Loki! Open up!"

"What do you need Freyja?" A sly voice asked. I jumped turning around and sighed "Oh, it's just you"

"What is it?" He asked

"It's your daughter"

"Hel?" He asked

"No Loki" I breathed

"I have no other daughter, but..." His voice got quieter, his eyes softer

"She's alive Loki, and in danger"

"My first born, is alive?" he asked shocked but elated "Where is she?"

"Loki she's in danger! She's on Earth, helpless and in danger!"

"WHAT?!" A booming voice commanded. We turned towards the voice and saw...Thor

"The child is alive on Earth?!"

"Loki you must save her!"

"The child must die!" Thor shouted gripping his hammer tighter, then stormed off

"Loki, now she's now in more danger! The Greeks Gods will kill her, and now Thor will as well!"

"Wait, the Greek gods?"

"They took her in, using her as a pawn. She's got your wit Loki, and they'll soon kill her because of it"

"Why does Thor want to kill my daughter?"

"When you brought Darcy, everyone thought she was a sorceress, out to attack all of Asgard. They asked me to kill her-"

"You" He seethed "You killed her?!"

"But I spared the child. I sent her to Earth so she wouldn't be found. Loki please, save your daughter! She has black hair, and dark brown hair. She is in a placed called New York City. Her name is Eira" Loki nodded his head and sped off "Hurry Loki" He teleported away and I watched him, crumpling to the floor

"Loki I'm sorry" I whispered between my sobs "I'm so, so sorry"
