Had some problems with naming the chapter, all is good! :D

Chapter twenty-two.

“L, I will play them if you don’t stop right now!” Leah was driving me crazy by her stupid endless question. Like why’s the sky blue? Is it because the sky’s sick? No then it would be green. Why isn’t it green? I like green like leaves. Does the sky hate leaves? And try thinking of the more stupid question you can come up with. I’m sure she had mentioned it all.

My thumb itched to hit the ‘play’ button, Leah stiffen and shook her head as a HELL NO. My weakness is tickling and her weakness is…horror movie theme songs! That’s right while I absolutely adore them. Music to my ears, honestly I sometimes watch horror movies just to hear its theme song like SAW (all of them, but it gets boring after SAW 2), Dead Silence (oh yea, its theme song rules), One Missed Call, Poltergeist, Ju-On (both creepy but awesome nevertheless. Prefer the Japanese version definitely), Mirrors, The Thirteenth Ghost, The Ring, The Uninvited and more. Oh and I love it when villain wins. Yea, I’m hooked like a druggie with his weed!

Here I am with my phone, no it’s not my old phone since the last one got lost when Noah stupidly kidnapped me for no good reason besides my ‘brother’ told him to. Pantsy. The awkward part is I still meet him occasionally here.. Damon got out of the ‘dancing class’ scheme and bribed me with a phone and bribed Leah with an ice cream parlour. Yup, Leah’s now the proud owner of her own ice cream shop and she’s thinking of calling it ‘Ice-Cream R Us’ or “Icy Bunnies’. Don’t even dare, I don’t know why myself. You want to know, brace yourself to dig into Leah’s brain.

“You won’t.” She thinks I’m bluffing, I’ll show her a bluff.

Hm, I think I’ll play it now!

Her eyes widen and she slaps her hands over her ears going, “La la la la la la la la la la la la la la, I CAN’T HEAR YOU!” repeatedly as I circled her with the phone’s volume on max.

“Lenora, don’t bully the girl.” Damon said, his ass on the couch and his feet comfortable on the table. And I’m not telling where his hands are. (Caught you thinking dirty!) I pouted and stomped my feet childishly and plopped down on the couch, I turned the phone off and caught Hunter stealing glances at me behind Damon’s head. I turned a blind eye at this and mindlessly watched the game. Like I said he has to gain back my love. Wow, that sounds cheesy.

“Leah, I’m not playing it anymore. Come on, let’s watch the game.” Dylan hopped onto my lap and cuddled to me. I smiled and ruffled his hair before hugging him. Leah mumbled ‘can’t trust nobody no more’ and plopped onto the single couch beside me, turning her attention on the screen. When I wasn’t, I was thinking about Hunter…me…us. I’m happier now and the fact that maybe we can finally have a future together. I hid a smile with my hand and coughed. Leah looked at me strangely but didn’t think much of it but Hunter didn’t. He kept his gaze on me the whole time making me fidget uncomfortably, slightly shifting my weight on the couch when I noticed Dylan had his mouth open while watching the game. It was adorable. I can’t help but giggle softly.

I ran my hand through his hair, trying to straighten it back. He was too absorbed with the game to protest or even note it. A piece of his hair was sticking out, licking the tip of my finger, I smooth it back down. Hey! It was bugging me.

“Oh by the way the guys wanted to make a huge badass welcoming party in both your names. The whole package.” Damon said, not tearing his eyes away from the TV, I narrowed my eyes at him. What? I love how friendly these people are but I’m suspicious.

“What’s the catch?” I saw his eyes twitched in annoyance, sorry for not trusting but I met you for how long? It hasn’t even been a week! Speaking of week, oh gosh! School! Extinction of bananas! Heck? Where did that come from? Not the point, school! I missed days of school and I’m in senior year. I might not graduate which would be a hoax cause those classes Leah and I attending are just for time wasting since I didn’t want to have to sleep off through the whole day with study halls, breaks and gym the whole year. If you’re wondering why it’s because Leah and I compiled all the credit need to graduate since freshmen year since we can’t stay at a place for long.

“Hunter, what about school?” The first sentence I said to him this entire day, pretty neat considering how desperate he’s trying to win me back.

“I’m alpha, everything I say goes. You’re good.” Hunter said huskily, his gaze fixed on me STILL. Damon nodded his head understandingly, acknowledging his leadership skills. Weird dudes.

“Well I guess that’s okay then.” I shrugged, not really paying attention to him anymore but inside, Stellar was going crazy!

Mate mate mate mate!

Shut up, bitch. I told you I’ll get him back and I will. Play along.

I can’t wait! He’ll claim us soon!

Soon. Sooner than you can say ‘super secret monkey ninjas’.

You never make sense.

Don’t you know it?

I lifted the hypnotized Dylan off my lap and sat him on the couch, bending over to whisper into Leah’s ear, “I’m going to the shop. Last one out is a rotten egg!” and rushed to steal Damon’s keys to his ‘precious’, I love the lord of the rings reference, with Leah right in tow.

“You better not leave a scratch!” Damon shouted from the house as I unlocked the car, getting in right after Leah. I turned on the baby, revving it up. I’m in it for the speed baby!

“NORA YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND!!!!!” Leah screamed when I stepped on the pedal harder, as it I hadn’t stepped on it hard enough. I manoeuvred my way through the sharp corners and zoomed right for the city, changing gears ever so often.

“Stop whining, I think its fun!” I said, looking at her a little too long for her liking.

“LOOK WHERE YOU’RE DRIVING BITCH!!!!” Leah clutch onto the seatbelt for her dear life, closing her eyes tight trying to imagine none of this is real.

“Feel the rush! Its awesome!” The silver Chevrolet Camaro had more horsepower to it; surely I decided to take it for a test, speeding to the max by all means.

“Leah, open your eyes, we’re here.” I sang, Leah looked like she was on the verge of hurling on the sidewalk. I rolled my eyes and opened her door for her, helping her out.

“Come on princess.” I cooed, sitting her down on the nearest bench by the store.

“You-” Leah stopped to cover her mouth, sighing when it’s a false alarm.

“Ten years of my life...gone. Never do that again! NEVER AGAIN!” Leah stood up too suddenly; vertigo hits her like an ice cream truck.

“Here, lay down.” I scooted over, giving her more space and she immediately lay down her head on my lap and her feet dangling on the edge. I played with her hair, untangling the knots. What’s with me and hair today?

“Feel much better thanks. Look Nora, its autumn, exactly like that day.” Leah reached her hand out to catch the fallen leaf gliding above our head; her smile wasn’t on her face. I kept smoothing out her hair.

“Why do you think he didn’t come then?” I don’t know Leah, why didn’t Damon come?

“I honestly don’t know. Some things are better a secret.” I said smiling, catching a leaf myself, such beautiful red coloured maple leaf.

“Maybe…I like him.” She said grinning from ear to ear.

“Oh really? Despite arguing all the time?” I asked and she nodded her head.

“That’s good, me too. Come on get up, you’ll have to give me free ice cream for making you feel better.” She hopped onto her feet, glaring playfully at me.

“And whose fault was that?” She had her fists on her sides, her nose high up in the air sniffing something out.

“What’s wrong?” Quickly, I got on my feet and stood right next to her.

“He’s here and near.” That rhymes. I mean WHAT?!

“H-he’s here.” No wonder, he did catch up to us before Hunter did but unlike Hunter, he didn’t have balls to risk his ass kicked. Instinctively, I mind linked Damon on the situation. (I asked to join his pack this morning after breakfast along with Leah.)

Damon.

Yea?

Get Hunter for me. The shop. Right now.

Is something wrong? I’ll go there!

No! Get him here quick!

Got it.

“Get inside the shop, now and don’t come out till I say so.”  I said, gritting my teeth in anger. Leah ran into the shop not far from we were, luckily her scent’s still masked.

“Lenora.” Before me, stood Zeke looking furious as hell but here’s a little warning I’m much more mad than he will ever be. I didn’t respond, turning the opposite direction from the shop and walked away silently. I was mad but not risking fighting him here where Leah’s so close. He ain’t getting anywhere near my sister.

He walked after me, just like I predicted and I continued to lure him to the park two blocks away. Hunter could easily find me by following my scent in that distance but still far away from Leah. When I didn’t spoke a word, Zeke thought he would instead.

“It was a misunderstanding!” He shouted in a fit of rage, punching the tree next to him, sending splinters flying everywhere as the tree fell down. I still didn’t mutter a word, my eyes cold as ice.

“It was that bitch’s plan! She set me up!” Zeke was on his knees, explaining and begging me to give him a chance to meet his mate.

“If it really was a trap then you had a choice to not step into it. You had a choice to walk away but I don’t think you did.” The first sentence I said.

“I-” I raised my hand to shut him up. I brought him there for him to understand things not give pathetic excuses.

“Do you think its funny? Our parents got murdered. Our pack died in an attack. Us, a couple of twelve year old against the harsh reality of the real world. Do you think it’s interesting to gain our trust only to crush it? Do you thinks it’s easy to trust anyone in the first place? You’re mates and for that I took your word when you said you won’t hurt her. And now? I saw her cry. I felt her pain as she did with mine. I specifically asked you not to hurt her. You went against your word and now, suffer the consequences. You want to see her? Fine but you’ll have to go through me first.” I laid down the rules into his tiny ant head with my cold emotionless voice.

“And me.” Hunter’s warmth on my back had my wolf purring in delight. Damn he was fast.

“Hunter! You’ve got to understand, man! Sherry fooled me. She tricked me! I wasn’t sleeping with her, she attacked and injected me with mercury.” That had me felt guilty…a bit. Nonetheless, he shouldn’t be with her in the first place. Females were weaker and he could easily block her.

“You might be telling the truth but even the truth can’t fix a broken heart.” Hunter stared into my eyes, knowing what I said meant for him too. Surprisingly, his eyes were determined and sincere like he would never hurt me again.

“If it won’t then what will?!” Zeke sounded more and more desperate.

“Time. She’ll need time.” Hunter understood and soothingly ran his hand up and down my arm. I back up against him, loving the way he feels against me.

“I can’t be away from her that long!”

“Zeke I had enough of this, you’ve done something even though it had been a mistake. Go home. Think about it and wait.” Hunter growled, using his alpha command on Zeke. Zeke whimpered and looked at me for sympathy and understanding. I begged with my eyes to let him give Leah her space. Mates will be together in the end. Doesn’t he trust her?

Zeke bowed his head and left.

“I feel kind of sorry for him.” I mumbled depressingly when Hunter nuzzled the crook my neck, inhaling my scent and purred pleasurably.

“He’s my brother, I do too.” He spun me around and hitched my legs around his waist; his hand firmly on my butt and carried me to where Leah’s hiding. I tightened my grip around his neck and said, “I missed you.” He holds me tighter against him.

“Me too, baby. Me too.” He kissed my temple, murmuring his apologies the entire walk to the shop.
