The wind howls through the trees
As I hurry to safety
For tonight is the Wild Hunt
When the gates are open
Between the worlds
When midnight strikes
The dogs will out
To hunt, kill or maim
Any they meet
To the wild laughter
Of the horsemen
Who glory in causing
Pain and torture
And cannot feel any themselves
Their looks deceive
Their voices doubly so
Clear as a bell,
Bubbling with laughter
They are wild, evil beings
Only one commands them
Only one puts fear into their hearts
The queen of the Seelie
That banished them
To the deepest, darkest places
Tonight she cannot help
For night is their domain
Only when the sun rises
Will she order them away
And leave us in peace
