How would one define sleep?

A state of stupor that's too deep?

Come nightfall,

Sleep must befall.

Some predetermined rule

To be followed by a fool.

Childhood were the days,

When sleep was a punctual phase.

You did not have to wait,

Or be put off by its bait.

Never was a thing to worry.

Things were always a merry.

Fifteen, sixteen;

Those dreadful teens.

Sleep became rare.

Never fair.

While some do extremely well,

Others wish that they just fell.

Insomnia looms,

As the dawn blooms.

Feeling the weight;

Next day you're late.

Sometimes its never enough.

Those guys have it real tough.

Anytime, anywhere,

Dozes off without a care.

At times its just too much.

You can't wake up without a crutch.

Sleep becomes an escape

From broken things that can't be fixed with tape.

Dreams that make no sense.

Seen through a hazy lens.

Surely beats reality.

But well, it lacks the quality.

Funny little phenomenon,

Who's absence makes eye bags prominent.

So, before we make tomorrow's leap;

Lets just go to sleep.
