ANYWAY I thought.... Y'know doppelgangers?
I think of them as this:
A doppelganger is an exact replica of you, in every way. They can be anywhere in the world... And they're out to hunt you. To kill you, and they look for you always. If they manage to find you during both of your lifetimes, they will kill you and replace you. They don't have to be evil... They have not the same personality, but either you or your doppelganger is relentlessly searching. Sometimes even they don't know what they're looking for.
Example: Charles Ingalls, the father of Laura Wilder. He was always moving on, and even when they settled he wasn't completely satisfied.
