He was late, he knew that. Parking as fast as he could, he took the stairs, not wanting to wait for the elevator. She was going to kill him. Getting to his floor and fast-walking towards the door of his house. He froze at the sight that greeted him, it was all calm and silent, too silent if he dared to say. Swallowing he walked inside. He found her in the kitchen, her serious expression told him not to talk. He knew what was going to happen but still, he tried to apologize.
"Babe, I'm sorry. I was just trying" he was soon interrupted.
"Shut up" she said, taking out the cupcakes from the oven, after placing them on the cupboard. His mouth was shut, while he watched her frosting the cupcakes that were cooled.
"Do you need help?" he asked scared.
"Frost the damn cupcakes and don't talk" he started frosting, well he tried to frost them the best way. After a couple of minutes of silent, he took courage and talked again.
"Honey, I know you like baking but this extreme baking is getting out of hand" He said seeing the four more batches of cupcakes that needed to be frosted. She grunted and kept mixing the batter; completely ignoring what he said. "Come on, listen to me. I don't know why you are so stressed, they are going to love you. And if you keep baking like this you're going to make all of us fat"
"I just want to have a good impression on them. I meant they surely don't like that I'm a foreign, meaning they have a reason to not like me already" He stop her rambling, making her face him.
"Hey, none of that! I bet they don't care, and even if they did that's just a stupid argument to not like you. They are going to like you I'm certain, you make me happy, which will make them happy. And if they don't like you, that is not going to happen, I will still love you the same"
"You sure know how to calm my nerves" She said smiling at him. "We should send at least four cupcakes each of your members... we have way too much" she told him after looking around.
"They are going to be so happy"
"Oh and before I forget you are still going to clean everything up and finish frosting for getting here late" His face fell. He thought he was saved from that little mistake.
"Sure thing honey" he answers kissing her cheek, knowing there was no way out of that.
