I sit and waste yet another hour in our group therapy until we are all dismissed to lunch.
I search for the gray table I have previously sat at, only to find it’s currently occupied by Luke.
His blue eyes meet mine as he gazes over to me before waving over to the direction of the table.
Does he want me to sit with him?
Normally the workers sit as far away from any of the patients as possible, yet he chooses to sit with us?
I pull out the chair parallel from him as he smiles.
“Hey Grace.”
He reaches over to the plastic grocery bag pulling out a bag of sour cream and onion chips, I reach over as he holds them out for me.
“Why?”
“Because the food here is equivalent to dog food.” He laughs
“Not hungry.”
“Don’t lie to me.”
“I’m not?” I question my answer.
“Please Grace.”
“I never asked you to do this.”
“I know but I just thought..”
“You thought wrong.”
“Well you have to eat something, either my food or, that.” He points down to the tray of food sticking up his nose at the sight.
“Why are you always so nice to me?”
“Because you’re my friend.”
“According to whom?”
“Me.”
“You don’t know anything about me.”
“I know, but I would like too.”
I know this chapter is kinda crappy.. next one will be better I promise x
