Chapter #12- Fight of the Century.

I am having a merry time with Mel, when the music is suddenly cut off.
Mel and I share a look as the crowd boos.
I look towards the DJ who is having a heated conversation with someone, and when I feel Sel getting restless inside me, I have no doubt whatsoever about who he is.
I openly glare at his back.
"Who is he?" Mel squints. She may love alcohol, but alcohol surely doesn't love her, because I can sense her being tipsy.
Great.
"Alpha Ulysses" I say, not in a whisper, but my voice at its normal octave and the whole crowd stiffens.
Yay supernatural hearing!
He sure has quite a reputation amongst the supernatural world.
I can feel Ruin, Teague's beast, getting pissed.
On hearing me call out his name, Alpha Ulysses turns towards me, and though it is dark and he is at the other end of the room, I can see his eyes, glowing neon.
Where is his hooch?
"Hey! We dedicate a song to you, and you rain on our merry as fuck parade?" Mel slurs her words out and I slap my forehead.
I look towards Teague for help, but to my horror, I see him battling with Ruin.
Oh no.
No.
NO!
Teague can't shift into Ruin.
Not here at least.
Or the whole crowd will be dead.
I hop off the bar, leaving Mel to herself (she'll be fine, that I am sure of) and motion for the lioness to move away.
"What the-" I cut her off with a growl.
"Step back!"
"You bitch!" She sneers but obeys, hearing the edge in my voice.
"Teague. Handsome, look at me" I plead to his shaking body.
He replies with a roar and though I want to flinch, I don't.
I've done this before, albeit once, but I remember that I have to be firm.
"Look at me!" My voice comes out strong, and though Sel is throwing a hissy fit about going towards 'Mate' and calming him down, I know my loyalty lies with Teague.
"Teague" I take his face in my hands and his canines tear at my hand.
I ignore the sting and growl in my mind at Sel.
'Fuck off!' I warn her and she whimpers, but doesn't back down.
Fucking ungrateful bitch!
"Ruin. I know you can hear me" I say staring right in Teague's now topaz eyes.
"Back down, Ruin" I whisper softly, carressing his cheek.
He starts shaking his head, but I tighten my hands holding the sides of his face, and make my voice the most vulnerable it can get.
"Back down for me. Your Dely"
He cocks his head to the side.
"Dely safe?" He asks, and though I know that Teague is not in control, the deep timber of his voice catches me off guard. I shake my head to clear it and dutifully nod my head.
"Ruin always protect Dely" He promises.
"I know" I agree with him, because I do. I do know that Ruin is my Knight in Shining Armour.
"Always" he caresses my hair.
"Yes. But now you need to go back. Give the control to Teague. Yes?"
"Give T the control?" He asks and I nod my head.
"You know that if you don't, then you'll shift, right? We don't need a catastrophe here" I chuckle, though I am dead serious.
"Thanks" It's Teague's voice that responds, and I don't waste time in hugging him.
"I was so so scared, handsome" I choke back the sob that is threatening to leave my lips.
"I'm sorry" his guilt is palpable.
"It's not your fault that my Knight can sense his damsel's distress" I try to make a joke out of it, and before he can add to the humor, I hear Mel's worried voice.
"I think you should let go of him now" She advises and before I can ask her why, because his body is damn comforting right now, I feel rough hands tear me away from the warmth.
Alpha Ulysses is standing like a wall between Teague and I and I take a few steps back, away from him.
Before I can make my way to Teague's side, there is a loud growl followed by an equally loud roar.
I look in horror as Alpha Ulysses lands the first punch and Teague (luckily Ruin is not on surface) blocks it, following it by a punch of his own.
I don't keep up with their brawl and instead start thinking of things I can do to stop this fight.
Why are they even fighting?!
Why the hell is Alpha Ulysses even here?!
'Because he is our mate' Sel whispers smugly in my mind and I block her. Fucked up bitch.
Wait. How can I stop it?!
A) Get into the middle and try to talk to Asher.
But would he even listen to me after hearing the song I dedicated to his host. I mean technically, it was for his host, so he should not take it personally... but Moon only knows what goes on in that mind of his.
So bottom line is, that's not an option.
B) Call for the bouncers, who by the way are busy egging the two shifters on, amidst the crowd.
Wow.
They sure take their jobs seriously.
C) Order a pizza and enjoy the fight, like everyone else is doing.
Wait. They have pizza? How come I've been here for three hours and nobody told me that?!
D) Beg Mel.
I opt for D, making a mental note to order pizza after this mess is wrapped up, and make my way to Mel, who by the way is flanked by Arianna and Olivia, Alpha Ulysses' hooch.
"Mel? What the fuck girl, stop the fight already!" I snap at her when I notice her taking bets from the pumped up crowd.
"Are you kidding me? An Alpha wolf, of the world's strongest Pack versus an anomaly Tiger, with no Pride to back him up. This is the shit!" She fist bumps with a leopard shifter.
"Mel! Come on dude! If Ruin comes out then...?" I trail off when I see her eyes lit with excitement.
"Then the fight will become even more fucking thrilling!" She wraps an arm around Arianna, who has a frightened look marring her beautiful face.
"Olivia, right?" I turn to her in the hopes that she can step in and talk to her boyfriend or whoever he is to her.
"Don't even ask me to stop him. That pussy had it coming for having his hands around you. Our Luna" she sneers and I give her a look.
"Are you kidding me?!"
"I kid you not, Luna" she says, might I add, respectfully.
The irony!
"Shut up! I am not your Luna! You may belong to Alpha Ulysses' pack, but I am not your anything, you... you... you bitch!"
"Luna-"
"Fuck you!" The galls of this bitch. First she was dirty dancing with My Mate, or soon to be ex-mate, who just so happens to be her Alpha, and now, she is calling me her Luna.
Talk about double standards.
I don't think twice, and step away from them into the ongoing fight.
"Is someone going to give me a hand?" I ask to no one in particular.
"What do you think you are doing?" It's a voice that sends shivers running down my spine, though it is unfamiliar.
I turn to the source of it, and freeze when I see who it is.

"Uh... uh... I was... I was justgoingtotryandstopthefight" my words blur with one another.
"I beg your pardon?" His voice has that sarcastic tinge to it.
"I was just going to try and stop the fight" I say, making sure my words don't mix up.
"And who do you think you are to do that?" The demon, Ron, asks smoothly, not missing a beat.
"Teague's best friend?" It comes out more like a question.
"So? Who gave you the right to stop it?" He asks with those intense eyes of his, glaring right through my soul.
"I-I.." My eyes go to the leopard shifter, the one in the slutty red dress, who is recording the whole fight.
"Well there's paparazzi here.... Supes 101... you don't want this fight to take place in your esteemed bar, do you?" I try to make him see sense.
"Why would I not want a fight in my bar?"
"Um... there's press here and they'll talk negative about your bar... and then you'll have to face loss"
"You dumb bitch, you" he chides, and my eyes go wide. Did he just call me dumb?
"This is the fight of the year! The most powerful canine fighting it off with the- dubbed to be- most powerful feline! This is what the supernatural world calls 'epic'. That it is happening in my bar, is my honor" He smirks and I clench my fist.
Just the fear that he may curse me stops me from punching him in the solar plexus.
"Fuck off" I growl, and he is taken off guard, which gives me enough opening to step in the fight.
I am so so angry, that I can feel the adrenaline pumping in my veins.
I block a punch that Teague aims at Alpha Ulysses and he is shocked to see me. In his shocked state, he unconsciously backs off, and I turn towards Alpha Ulysses, to apologize on Teague's behalf, only to feel an overwhelming pain in my jaw.
Fuck.
I nurse my jaw and hiss feeling it dislocated.
I vaguely see Alpha Ulysses' eyes go wide, on realizing that he punched me, before everything goes black.
