Chapter 14: All in Your Head
"What about John?" Lucas asks impatiently, wanting to go inside so he can get away from Mason.
"John knows something." Mason informs him.
"Knows what? About us?" Lucas asks for clarification. "There's no way. We just found out!"
"No, I don't think he knows what we are, but he knows something is up." Mason looks away guiltily before he adds, "John talked to me about it, asking what's up."
"Mason, what did you tell him?" Lucas demands in a strained tone, exhibiting how hard it is for him to keep calm at the moment.
"I just told him that maybe he couldn't help. Because he said he could. I didn't think that was bad to say." Mason finally looks his brother in the eyes, really believing that he didn't say anything that could give them away.
Lucas sighs and says, "I'm going inside now." Mason nods, then moves to follow him. After a few steps, Lucas stops and turns back, putting a hand up to keep his twin from running into him.
"I just want to say that we need to be extra careful. Don't let your anger get the best of you. I'll try too. But when you got mad..." Lucas trails off for a second, collecting his thoughts.
"It made me mad too. Just remember, it's most likely all in your head because of this moon stuff. So no more getting angry like that." Lucas concludes before stalking over to the door.

When Mason stormed off after John tried to figure out what's going on, the oldest Caster child followed him inside. But Mason disappeared into the bunches of people and John couldn't find him.
He finally spots Mason when he and Lucas come in from the back door, looking as far from happy as possible. Something happened and John missed it, losing what might've been his best opportunity to catch them acting strange and interrogate them on it.
John quickly goes to hang out with his sisters as cover, hoping that Lucas and Mason would think that's what he'd been doing when they were outside. He doesn't want any more suspicion falling on him while he investigates the Hallow twins.

Lucas heads over to Lena as soon as he gets inside the club. He decides that he's going to lock his worries away in a safe in his mind. Then he'd toss the key and find it tomorrow. He can't keep doing this if Mason keeps snapping, causing him to do the same.
"Lucas! There you are. Is Mason okay?" Lena asks with concern. There's something off about the kind smile and tone of voice, but Lucas ignores that so he can be happy. At least for tonight.
"Yeah, he just got angry. But he's fine. I talked to him." Lucas tries to be vague and not act like he's avoiding the topic. Just like he's over what happened.
Lena nods like she understands, but really, she's wondering what Lucas, Mason, and Jerica are hiding from her. Because if Lucas and Mason know, Jerica has to know as well. But Lena can tell by Lucas' set smile that he wants to forget about it all. So she helps him with that by dancing the night away.

Ivie told Lena that she was going to stay at home all day while everyone's at the party, but Ivie decided against that after a couple of hours alone.
Wanting to talk with her best friends, she asks if she can come over. Her parents are at work, so she doesn't ask them if she can go to her friend's house.
When Vanessa and Selynn answer the door, Ivie rushes in and tells them what happened last night and how she awoke covered in mud and leaves.
"That's horrible, Ivie!" Vanessa cries out sympathetically. "I'm so sorry!"
"Can you really not remember anything?" Selynn asks curiously.
"Well, it's been coming back in bits and pieces all day. I remember feeling free in the woods." Ivie adds nervously, "And I might've seen someone."
She chews on her nails, ruining their perfectness once again. Ivie doesn't know why she bothers fixing her nails when she just bites at them again.
"What? Who?" Vanessa exclaims questioningly.
Ivie puts her hands on her head. "I don't know! I can't remember."
"I wonder if hypnosis might work...?" Selynn suggests jokingly.
"I can't stay any longer, I need to get back before Lena. I told her I was staying home." Although Ivie doesn't need to be home for hours, she doesn't want to talk to her friends anymore. So she goes home and watches TV in her room until she falls fast asleep.

Vanessa watches sadly through the window as Ivie leaves. She's worried about her best friend and wonders how they're going to get through all of the weird stuff going on. She has a bad feeling that once everything calms down again, none of them will be the same.
Vanessa sees Selynn staring blankly at her from the reflection in the window. She turns to Selynn, kind of creeped out at first. Her stomach drops to the floor as she sees that Selynn isn't moving or breathing. Their parents aren't home so she has no one in the house to help. Panic sets in quickly.
"Selynn?" Selynn doesn't answer, just keeps staring blankly. Vanessa steps closer and speaks louder. "Selynn?"
Vanessa is full on panicking now, grabbing Selynn's arms and shaking her. "Selynn! Selynn!"
Selynn suddenly takes a deep breath and sways on her feet. Her sister pulls her over to the couch before she can fall. "Selynn, what's wrong?" Vanessa asks as Selynn blinks warily.
"Nothing. I'm fine." Selynn replies unconvincingly. "I think I had another vision." Selynn admits as she puts a hand on her head.
"About what?" Vanessa asks quickly.
Selynn gives a quick, one word answer, "Ivie."
"Ivie?" Vanessa questions, knowing that there has to be more than that.
"But not Ivie. Ivie with green hair and glowing green eyes." Selynn explains, wondering what could happen that would turn her friend into that.
Vanessa stands and asks protectively, "Do you need some ice? You could have something wrong with your head."
Selynn shakes her head. "I'm good. And weren't you the one who said we have to listen to my visions?" She arches an inquisitive eyebrow at her twin sister.
Vanessa sits back down so Selynn continues on as if she wasn't interrupted. "Ivie was running, no, being chased, through the woods."
"Lucas and Mason were following her." Selynn's eyes flit back and forth, making it seem to Vannessa like she's is still sorting out the images in her mind.
She pats Selynn's shoulder and reassures her gently. "Take your time." She has no idea what the visions are like, and she doesn't want to find out.
"No, they're chasing her. Lucas and Mason were chasing Ivie!" Selynn says with a gasp, rushing on before Vanessa can comment. "They tried to talk, but she attacked them."
Selynn pauses in thought. "Ivie was controlling vines. She trapped the boys. They were all going down. Fighting back...but with their hands. It happened so fast, but somehow Lucas and Mason were slashing the vines. Oh, they have pocket knives with them." Selynn says.
"Ivie is controlling vines in your vision?" Selynn nods in answer, continuing on, still stuck on deciphering the vision.
"They got overpowered, then some blond guy popped up out of nowhere. So fast...so strong..." Selynn's eyebrows crease in thought. Vanessa notices her eyes moving like she's watching or reading something.
"It's so confusing... Okay, I see. The guy saved them. They're okay." But Selynn gasps and jerks back into the couch where she's still sitting. "No, the guy attacked Ivie! And that's it. He wasn't helping, he was hurting. He was hunting Ivie!"
"Okay, Selynn. Do you know when this happens?" Selynn blinks and seems to refocus on the world and on her sister.
Selynn sounds tired when she tells Vanessa the answer. "It was night time. And sometime soon."
