Amber P.O.V

Silence filled between us when we got in his car.

Siya yung magda-drive.

“Hey, makinig tayo nang radio”

“Sige. Ikaw na mamili ng station.”

“Okey dokey”

Favorite station ko yung 89.9, so dun ko kinabit

A song just ended.

There was a song that was playing

And surprisingly, Stephen was singing along to it.

And he had a good voice.

Once again, you’re all alone

With tears running from your eyes, and I’m on the outside

Knowing that you’re all  I want, but I can’t do anything

I’m so helpless, baby.

Every day. Same old thing.

So you’re still feeling pain.

Never had real love before.

And it ain’t her fault.

He was looking at me when he sang the chorus part of the song

She knows better, but she can’t help it.

Wanna tell her, but that is selfish.

How do you heal a heart that can’t feel it’s broken?

His love is all she knows.

All she knows.

All she knows

All she knows

His love is all she knows…

He focused on the road again, but I can tell that he deepened the meaning with his voice nung kinanta niya yung 2nd verse nang song

You’ve been living this way so long

You don’t know the difference, and it’s killing me

Cause you can have so much more

I’m the one you’re looking for

But you close your eyes on me, So you still can’t see

Every day. Same old thing.

So you’re still feeling pain.

Never had real love before.

And it ain’t her fault.

She knows better, but she can’t help it.

Wanna tell her, but that is selfish.

How do you heal a heart that can’t feel it’s broken?

His love is all she knows.

All she knows

All she knows

All she knows

His love is all she knows…

All she knows

All she knows…

All she knows is the pain in the coat of an empty home, she’s too comfortable

I want her to know it can be better than this

I can’t pretend

Wish we could be more than friends…

She knows better, but she can’t help it.

Wanna tell her, but that is selfish.

How do you heal a heart that can’t feel it’s broken?

His love is all she knows.

All she knows

All she knows

All she knows

His love is all she knows…

“Wow. Ang ganda pala nang boses mo, no?”

“Hindi naman”

“Wooshoo. Pa-humble effect si Mr. Chua. Ahahaha”

“Sa totoo lang, ikaw palang ang unang nakarinig sa aking kumanta”

“Totoo? Walang halong biro?”

“Oo. Imagine kung paano ako aasarin nung dalawang saavedra kung malaman nila?”

“Oh no. It will be your worst nightmare! Ahahaha!”

He looked at me with his amazing brown eyes

“Oh, ba’t mo ‘ko tinitingnan nang ganyan? May dumi ba yung mukha ko?”

“Wala naman. Kasi…”

“Kasi, ano?”

“Mas bagay mo yung naka-tawa. Parang sunshine.”

“Bakit naman sunshine? Kasi yellow yung teeth ko?  (>3<) Bad ka, Stephen!”

“Hindi no! Parang sunshine, kasi you brighten up my day

Nag-bublush ako! >.< Buti nalang, may dinaanan kaming tunnel, kaya hindi niya nakita.

“UY! Boy Pick-Up yan, ah! Hahaha”

“Hindi ah. Galing yan sa akin. From the bottom of my hypothalamus.”

“Nakaka-tuwa ka, you know that?”

He smiled at me that showed his dimples.

Another song played on the radio.

It was my time to shine! Ahaha.

How can I just let you walk away? Just let you leave without a trace?

When I stand here taking every breath with you?

You’re the only one who really knew me at all.

How can you just walk away from me? When all I can do is watch you leave?

Cause we’ve shared the laughter and the pain. And even shared the tears.

You’re the only one who really knew me at all.

So take a look at me now.

There’s just an empty space.

There’s nothing left here to remind me, just the memory of your face.

So take a look at me now.

There’s just an empty space.

And you coming back to me is against the odds, and that’s what I’ve got to face.

I wish I could just make you turn around

Turn around and see me cry

There’s so much I need to say to you

So many reasons why you’re the only one who really knew me at all

So take a look at me now.

There’s just an empty space.

There’s nothing left here to remind me, just the memory of your face.

So take a look at me now.

There’s just an empty space.

But to wait for you, is all I can do, and that’s what I’ve got to face.

Take a good look at me now

Cause I’ll still be standing here

And you coming back to me, is against all odds

That’s the chance I’ve got to take

Take a look at me now…

“Wow. At kagagaling mo lang sa iyak nung kinanta mo yun, ah?”

“Church Choir. Yun ang naging training ko  (^-^)v “

“A pretty girl with a pretty voice. Perfect combination”

“Uyy! Ayan nanaman si Mr. Banat! Ahaha! Boy Pick-Up!”

“Oh, ‘di ba? At least may nalalaman na tayo tungkol sa isa’t-isa”

“Yeah. I guess this is a more fun version of 20 questions”

“You got that right!”

After maybe 30 minutes of driving, and a hundred questions later,  malpit na kami sa tagaytay.

“Gusto mo munang mag-merienda? I know a place”

“Sure! I’m starving. I haven’t eaten lunch yet”

“Me either”

After niyang pi-nark yung kotche, I was mesmerized with what I saw.

Rows and rows of roses were lines up to form a pathway that led to a mansion-like house.

“Uy, Stephen, sabi mo, kakain tayo. Ba’t mo ako dinala sa isang garden?”

“Kainan naman ‘to ah? See that house up there? That’s a restaurant.”

“Really? I’ve been to Tagaytay a million times, and I never knew that there was a place like this.”

“Because this place isn’t even open to the public yet. Only those with connections to the family that owns that restaurant can go here”

“So, how do you know the owners?”

“They’re my parents.”

May sumalubong sa amin na isang matandang lalaki, maybe in his mid-50’s, and has kind eyes.

“Good Afternoon ho, Senorito Stephen”

“Good Afternoon po, Tatay Ambo. Nakaluto na po ba si Nanay Celly? Gutom na po ‘tong kasama ko”

“Nasa kusina ho siya. Gusto niyo po bang tawagin ko siya?”

“Hindi na po tatay. Ako na po. Iiwan ko po muna sa inyo si Amber”

Siniko ko si Stephen. Tumawa lang siya at nag-peace sign.

Haay. Kung hindi lang dahil dun sa mga dimples na yun, magagalit pa rin ako sakanya! Hmp.

 “Hello po! (^-^)”

“Good Afternoon po, Senorita Amber”

“Good Afternoon rin po! Ang ganda naman po dito. Lalo na yung mga roses dun sa may garden”

“Ay, salamat ho! Ang asawa ko ho ang nag-tanim nung mga iyon, at siya rin ang nag-aalaga”

“Ay ganun po ba? Napaka-makulay po nila. Ang ganda”

“Amber! Naka-set up na yung table!

“Good Afternoon po!”

“Magandang Hapon rin po, Senorita Amber. Halina po’t umupo kayo, para maka-kain na kayo”

“Ay, thank you po nanay.”

“Walang anu man ho. Maiwan ho muna namin kayo”

“Sige po Nanay Celly. Salamat sa luto!”

Habang kumakain kami, kwento lang siya nang kwento.

Parang bata si Stephen. First time ko siyang nakitang ganito ka-hyper.

Para siyang batang na-stuck sa toys-r-us.

Ang cute niyang tingnan! >_<

“Amber. Uy! Amber naman eh!”

“Huh?”

“Kanina pa kaya kita kinakausap dito, hindi mo naman pala ako pinapansin >3<”

Aroo! Nag-pout pa yung mokong. Ang pogi-pogi tuloy. Kyaaah!

“Hindi. May iniisip lang ako”

“Penny for your thoughts?”

“I’m afraid it’s rather a long story”

“We’ve got time”

“Okay”

And you know what?

He just sat there. Patiently listening to the story of my life.

Most of them just wanted to be with me for 3 reasons.

Sex.

Influence over People.

Status.

Siya lang yung hindi man lang ako tinitingnan like an object.

He looks at me like I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to him.

And it feels nice to have someone like him…
