I woke up to someone pulling me from the car. I blinked and recginized the uniform as that of a medic.
"Mam could you tell me you're name?" he asked shining a flashlight into my eyes
"Amber Johnson" I said feeling a major headache comming on
"Johnson? Is your father Bryan Johnson?" he asked
"Yes" I said
"Where were you coming from?" another medic who I hadn't realized was on my other side said shooting the first medic a disapproving look
"Uh school, he was supposed to take me to the hospital" I said feeling sleepiness about to take me over
"Why were you going to the hospital are you pregnant?" the first medic asked
"No my hand is broken" I said holding up my right hand that looked perfectly fine to me now
"Anyone you know still at the school?" the second medic asked
"My brother... Jace and my friends there's a lot of them" I said with a sleepy smile "and Jeff- Principal Carl Jefferson" I clarified "Oh and Sebastian he's cute he beat up the guy who I punched, isn't that sweet?" I asked
"Sure is, he you're boyfriend?" the first medic asked
"No... just friends" I said drifting off
"Alright try to stay awake" the second medic said as the loaded me into what I assumed to be a ambulance.
"Keep talking to her" the second medic said to the first before looking to a police officer who was outside the truck
"This is Bryan Johnson's daughter tell him what's happened immediatly we don't want a lawsuit on our hands" he said
"My daddy is a good man" I said frowning at the man
"Amber where is you're mother?" the first medic asked trying to distract me as
"She's at work she's a fashion designer" I said
"Get the brother too" I heard the second medic say somewhere in the background as the first began surveying me for more injuries
"What is you're mother's name?" he asked
"Miranda Johnson" I said
"Holy shit we better not fuck this up" he said to himself
"Why not?" I asked him
He looked at me surprised that I heard him "Honey, you're parents could buy the whole state of California with a snap of their fingers" he said seriously
"I'm going to sleep your acting weird" I said
"No stay awake!" he begged alarmed
"But I'm tired" I said before letting the darkness consume me
I woke up hearing a constant beeping noise.
I felt someone's grip on my hand and opened my eyes slowly. Luckily the lights were turned down low but I could still recognize everyone in the room.
Sebastian was the one holding my hand tightly kissing it repeatedly. My father was pacing enraged, Jace had his arm around Katie holding onto her for dear life, Alex had a crying Emily in his lap wiping her tears away and James had Marissa on his lap while Belle slept on his shoulder.
My mother had her head in her hands as she silently wept.
"It's all my fault, I'm going to kill the bastard" my dad said in the deadliest tone I've ever heard him use
"I should have just taken her" Jace said quietly
"She's going to be ok" Emily said attempting to lighten the mood
"Who was that guy? I thought Frank was supposed to be there" Sebastian said a heart breaking amount of sadness in his voice
"We don't know, that ass hole doesn't even work for me" my dad said
"He was most likely hired to kill her" James said
"Well it didn't work and you all need to cheer up because i'm awake" I said
All of their heads snapped to me in a comical way making me smile.
"Amber!" Emily exclaimed a smile taking over her face
"Emily" I said with a smile
"You bitch! Don't do that to me! I have to die first!" she said jumping off of Alex and hugging me tightly
I painful smile spread across my face and she instantly released me.
"My baby!" my mother said next kissing my forehead
"I'm so sorry" my father said slumping into the chair next to me
"For what? Dad this wasn't your fault" I said
"Yes it was if I had just left the meeting you wouldn't be here" he said
I looked at Jace who looked equally as guilty as my father if not more.
"I'll just go back to sleep then" I said laying back into my pillow
"Why?" Katie asked
"Well I might as well if you all are just going to feel guitly" I said with a smile
"It's our faults though" Jace said
"Were any of you driving the car?" I asked
They all shook their heads
"Exactly which means that the only person's fault it is is that man's and mine" I said
All of their haead snapped to mine again
"How is it your fault?" my mother asked
"I got in the car with a stranger" I said shrugging
"That doen't mean it's your fault" my father grumbled "It was one of the company cars"
"Alright it's no ones fault can we drop this?" I asked
They all nodded and I smiled again
"Can I go home?" I asked
"I'm sorry Mr. and Mrs. Jackson but Amber has a very low chance of waking up with injuries like this it's virtually impossible" the doctor said looking at papers as he walked in.
I quickly laid back down and closed my eyes pretending to me sleep. Everyone caught my drift and played along.
"What's the percentage?" my father asked
"2% chance at the most" the doctor said as I head him walk over to me
Everyone else moved away without a word
"Are you sure? She's their only daughter" Alex said
"Postive but I'll check her vitals just to make sure" the doctor said
I slowed my heart beat and held back a smile and he turned to me.
He checked my heart rate as he slowly inched his hand under the blanket feeling my ass. I caught his hand and opened my eyes.
"Handsy doctor who knew" I asked pulling his hands away from me
"Uh Mr. Johnson I can assure you-" the doctor said looking at my father with wide eyes
"Assure me what?" my father asked as all the males in the room stood and took a step towards him.
Emily, Katie Belle, Melissa, and my mother shot up trying to talk them down and keep them from murdering the man but I just looked on in confusion.
I heard a deep growl emit from Sebastian's chest and my eyes widened as his turned a darker color.
"Sebastian?" I asked
He looked at me and his face softened. He took a step away from the man and towards me which made Alex, Jace, and James relax enough for Emily, Katie, and Marissa to guide them back to their seats. The doctor bolted through the door and Sebastian sat in his previous spot right next to me.
"I'm sorry" he said kissing my hand
"It's ok" I said smiling at him and smothing his disheveled hair
"Amber I want you to know that I'll always be here to protect you" he said
"I kinda got that Mr. Alpha male" I said pinching his cheeks
He smiled and looked deeply into my eyes causing me to do the same. His eyes were captivating as they looked green at first glance but when you looked deeper they melted into a chocolaty brown
"So.. should we leave or..." Emily asked
I blushed slightly looking away from Sebastian.
I cleared my throat "I'm ready to leave" I said
"You can't you have a broken arm and hand and a concussion, along with 4 broken ribs and a sprained ankle" Jace said his eyes flickering between Sebastian and I.
"No I don't I feel fine" I said
"What?" my mother asked as I stood without difficulty
"Amber be real how much pain are you in right now?" Sebastian said appearing in front of me ready to catch me if I fell.
"None, I feel like that didn't happen" I said
Katie pushed Jace and Sebastian aside hugging me tightly.
I hugged her back realizing that when Emily hugged me it was painful but now I'm absolutely fine.
"Katie no!" Jace said pulling her away from me
"Jace seriously nothing hurts anymore" I said
Sebastian gingerly grabbed my right arm. I watched him inspect it pressing at certain points all the while frowning.
"She's healed" he said releasing me
"Great lets go" I said skipping out of the room
Emily caught up to me and looped her arms threw mine. I could hear everyone else following us and smiled at her.
"So you and Alex huh?" I asked wiggling my eye brows
"Same could be said for you and Sebastian" she countered
I laughed "Hey hot guy that's sweet and protective, I'm sold" I said giggling
"You're such a girl" she said nudging me as we all got in the elevator.
Everyone was silent and I wiggled my eyebrows when Alex came to stand next to Emily.
She blushed and Katie, Bella, Marissa and I all laughed.
Everyone else looked at us strangely wondering what was funny. The doors opened and we all piled out us girls still laughing. When I looked over I saw the 2 medics talking by the front desk.
"Hey it's them!" I said smiling before running over to them
"Hey do you guys remember me?" I ask
"Of course Amber, glad to see you're ok" medic #2 said
"Amber don't run off like that!" Jace said as the group caught up to me
"This is everyone I was telling you about" I told them
Their eyes widened and they took a step away from me
"Amber who are they?" my father asked pushing me behind him slightly
"These are the medics who got me out the car" I said
"Are they?" my dad asked
"Yes and they know you guys" I said
"Amber lots of people know us" my mother said trying to pull me towards the car
"Jace is it?" medic #1 said to my brother
He nodded "You were the first person she named after Mr. Johnson" he said
"Who's Sebastian?" medic #2 asked
My eyes widened and a blush spread over my cheeks. I shook my head quickly silently begging him not to say anything.
Sebastian looked to medic #2 when everyone looked at him.
"She appreciates what you did for her" medic #2 said glancing at me
"Ok we should go now" I said
"Aww is Amber blushing?" Emily teased
"I am not!" I said
Sebastian wrapped his arms around me hugging me tightly his 6'4 height towering over my 5'5 "You're too cute for you own good" he whispered making me blush a deeper red
"If you 2 ever need anything don't hesitate" My dad said handing the medics his card
They nodded awe struck as my mother did the same giving them her card "Anything" she emphasized
With that everyone turned and we walked towards the doors. I looked back to see the medics watching us. I mouthed a thank you and they held up the cards mouthing a 'No, thank you' with smiles.
When we got outside there was a limo waiting. We all piled in and my dad spoke to Frank who was driving.
"How long was I there?" I asked yawning
"A week" Emily said showing me my phone which was filled with missed calls and texts from our class mates.
"Tired?" Sebastian asked
I nodded and he pulled me onto his lap. I smiled resting my head on his chest and quickly falling asleep when he began running his fingers threw my hair.
