Once in a while,
when thinking becomes too much,
I have a psychiatrist
who has a magical touch.
She captures these thoughts
and studies them very well.
Once examinations are done,
a story, she does tell.
“I know just what the problem is.
And it’s really not that bad.
It doesn’t stem from drugs
or problems with your dad.
“It’s as simple as ‘Trust Me’.
For, Trust Him, you know you must.
Just rely on the work of our Father
to turn your problems to dust.”
Once in a while,
when living becomes too much,
I have a confidante
who has a magical touch.
She listens to me for hours,
as I recount the hours of my day,
and takes note of each of my problems
so that she knows just what she must say.
“I know just how you are feeling,
for I’ve been in the same boat.
And I’ve found an amazing remedy:
it’s writing on sticky notes!
“Just simply write “Trust Me”
on a million of these squares,
and post them on everything!
from the ceilings to your chairs!”
Once in a while,
when being a friend becomes too much,
I have a wonderful friend
who has a magical touch.
She’s there for me always,
as I sink into despair.
But I never drown completely,
because I know she cares.
She may not always be gentle.
But I know she’s always kind.
And she may not always have an answer,
But she still always sooths my mind.
For she reminded me to Trust Him,
When times couldn’t be more low.
“Let Him lead your life,” she said,
“And just enjoy the show.”
