Sometimes my eyes are so focused on the sky
that I forget that the earth lies at my feet.
I forget the power I possess.
I could make the ocean speak if I wanted.
The door to possible and potential
stays closed so the feeling of safety won't leave me.
I don't remember the last time I opened that door.
I don't remember the last time I allowed my dreams to take flight
rather than hiding them away until a time that won't arrive.
