The pre-flight announcement rang in my ears before the rest of it got drowned out because I was so excited to see a particular someone again in just a few hours! VIXX was on their US tour and were currently in San Francisco, California. I was prepared to let Jaehwan focus on his tour with the rest of VIXX and not bother him while he was busy performing and sightseeing, especially knowing how he was so excited to travel to the US again. Of course, I missed him but that's how it's like to date an idol, I guess. However, it seems that he's the one who's missing me a little too much. Before I decided (or more like N convinced me) to surprise Jaehwan at their hotel, I received a ton of messages from all the members of VIXX, complaining about Jaehwan's constant whining.

Now, don't get me wrong. I didn't ignore Ken on purpose. I left my phone on silent when I was up studying for finals and I forgot to reply him because I was so preoccupied with my exams so he was the one who over-reacted and got on everybody's nerves, alright?
This went on for the whole week of finals with N complaining to me the most, a few times a day in fact. And he's always complaining about how Ken keeps whining or how he wasn't giving his best during practices or how it was so hard to get Ken out of bed. I guess N was so done with Ken, he texted me to visit them in San Francisco just to get Ken to shut up about me. Thankfully, I was having my vacation break after my finals so that meant that I was free to fly over to meet them. Just as I was waiting for the flight to take off, I got a call from N. Thank God I still had 7 minutes before I have to turn on airplane mode.
"Hello?" N's voice chirped in my right ear.
"Hello, oppa? What is it? I can't talk that long, the flight's about to take off soon."
"Ah, I see. I just wanted to remind you to put on a jacket or use the blankets that they provide. It's going to be a long flight and it might get cold--," N started to nag as I interrupted him with my laughter.
"Oppa!! You may be the mother of VIXX but you're not mine! Stop being like one!" I jokingly yelled at him on the other line. Though I say stuff like that to him all the time, I'm actually really thankful for VIXX because they're all protective of me like how a brother would towards a younger sister, of course, besides Jaehwan because he's my boyfriend.
"Yah! Don't be sassy with me, missy! I'm just looking out for you! If the members are my sons, and you're dating one of my sons, then doesn't that make you my daughter? You're my responsibility too!"
"....I don't understand you sometimes, oppa," I laughed.
"All of my sons don't, it's okay. Anyways, I'll be at Gate 3 waiting for you when you arrive but drop me a text or call me first so I know you've landed safely, okay?"
"Yes, omma... I mean, oppa" I joked at how he behaves just like my mother.
"Yah, you think I didn't know what you did there? Anyways I bet Ken's going to be so happy to see you again especially after how you almost gave him a heart attack thinking that you were going to break up with him when you didn't bother replying to his texts. I need to seriously scold you for that, by the way---"
"Ah oppa I need to hang up now, the flight's taking off!"
"Yah you-!" he shouted on the other line as I pressed the 'end call' button. I told him that I had to hang up because the flight was taking off (which was kind of the truth?) but really it's because I didn't want to listen to him nag at me again.
Before I knew it, the plane was already taking off and I was about to see my boyfriend and the rest of VIXX in a while.
-After arriving-
I walked out of the arrival gate trying to look for Gate 3 while dialling N's number. The rest of VIXX doesn't know about my surprise visit so N was the only one coming to fetch me back to their hotel.
"Hello, oppa? I'm--"
"YAH don't hang up on me again! And have you landed safely?" N scolded as I laughed at him. I loved how he was always able to switch from being angry to caring in one second.
"Yes, I have, oppa! Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to call you! I'm at Gate 3, where are you?" I asked as I chuckled at this 27-year-old oppa of mine.
Just then, I felt a hand on my shoulder and as I turned around, I saw that it was N, who immediately pulled me in for a friendly hug.
"Ah, my daughter. I've missed you," N sighed before pulling away. "But someone misses you even more so let's move!" N chirped before carrying my luggage for me and guiding me back to his car. During the ride, N updated me about their tour and how it went before, once again, complaining about Ken. Was Ken really behaving that badly because he missed me? It made me miss Ken even more as N talked about the stupid things Ken would do during practice or how he asked N to pretend to be me so that he could talk to 'me' face-to-face. Ah, I love my boyfriend so much but he can be so silly at times. Though, I wouldn't have him any other way.
Before we knew it, we had arrived at the hotel and was in the elevator going up to their hotel rooms. My heart raced as I became excited to see my boyfriend again after 2 months. I was pretty darn sure that the butterflies in my tummy were having an intense match of table tennis because I've never felt the urge to vomit as much as I do now. The boys were split into 3 groups to room with each other. Leo was rooming with Ravi, Hyuk was rooming with Hongbin and Ken was rooming with N. I went to greet the other members first since I didn't want to have to greet them later because I wanted to spend the rest of the night with Ken.
Coincidentally, Leo and Ravi's room was the first followed by Hyuk and Hongbin's and then N and Ken's. N and I knocked on Leo and Ravi's room, only to be greeted by Leo who had a small smile tugging at his lips as he ruffled up my brown hair.
"What brings you here halfway across the globe?" Leo asked in a small gentle voice.
"N oppa decided to plan a surprise visit so that Ken will stop whining about missing me," I stated as-a-matter-of-factly, shrugging my shoulders.
"Thank God, I was getting really annoyed at Jaehwan," Leo spoke as he rolled his eyes in a subtle way.
"Where's Ravi oppa? I haven't said 'hi' to him yet," I asked as I peered into the room.
"He's obviously asleep," N chimed, shaking his head at his member, earning a small nod from Leo.
"Oh, I see. The tour must have drained him. It's okay! I'll greet him tomorrow morning then," I shrugged.
"He's tired even when nothing drains him," Leo muttered under his breath before closing the door as N and I moved on to the next room; Hyuk and Hongbin's.
As I knocked on the door, I heard a loud thud in the room before Hyuk shouted " Ah hyung! It's _____ noona! She's here!" before the door flew open to reveal Hyuk and Hongbin with excited smiles on their faces.
"Oh my gosh, what are you doing here!"
"Have you seen Ken hyung?"
"He really misses you!"
"Yeah, he's going to cry when he sees you!"
Before I could even say 'hi', Hongbin and Hyuk were already flooding me with questions and whatnots. N quickly filled them in on the surprise before we said our goodnights and moved on to his and Ken's room.
"He's probably asleep by now, it's 2am," N reminded me as we approached their room. As we entered their room, I was greeted by a sleeping Jaehwan who was hugging a teddy bear soft toy that I gave him before he went on tour. It had the words 'I miss you' written on the bear's shirt to remind him that I would miss him while he was gone.
"He wouldn't sleep if he doesn't have that damn toy. He said it had your scent on it. Did you spray your perfume or something?" N whispered half-jokingly as I replied with a "Yeah, I did. He loves my perfume," with the most serious face I could come up with, earning a weird look from N. "...I'll leave you to him, then. I'll crash with Hyuk and Hongbin," N whispered while still looking at me weirdly as he placed my luggage by Ken's bed before making his way out of the room. Before he shut the door, though, he peered his head in to whisper-yell "No sexy business!" as I chuckled at him.
As I tip-toed over to Jaehwan, who looked like an angel while sleeping, I couldn't help but smile at his sleeping figure before I got an idea. I gently lifted the covers before tucking myself in and cuddling up next to Jaehwan, resting my head on his chest while shifting his right arm to put it around me.
"Ugh, hyung, I asked you to pretend to be her, but you don't have to sleep next to me, you're not really her," Ken groaned in his sleep as he pushed me off the bed before hugging the teddy bear and turning to back-face me. Well, so much for liking my perfume then! He couldn't even smell that it was me!
"Well, if that's what you want then I'll just take the next flight back to Korea then," I scolded softly as I stood up to dust myself off. I saw that Ken's body froze for a sec before he sat up in his bed and turned to face me. I expected him to jump up to hug me or something but instead, he just plopped back to bed while muttering "I miss her too much, I'm even hallucinating hyung as her. I'm going crazy," He mumbled into the pillow before falling back to sleep again. Ugh, this boy.
"Lee Jaehwan!" I yelled and that definitely woke him up because he sprang out of bed before you could even say 'snickerdoodles'. "Wha-what? Fire! Fire!" He shouted as he jumped in his bed like a headless chicken.
"Babe, it's me," I laughed at him as he calmed down and took a good look at me before rubbing his eyes and looking at me again. "What are you doing?" I laughed as he poked my right cheek. "Is this a dream? Is this some hallucination? Damn, this feels real," He mused as he continued to poke me in various places, earning him non-stop laughter from me. "Because it is real, pabo!" I yelled, grabbing him by his cheeks and scrunching up his face before placing a full kiss on his plump lips. He froze for a second before he pulled me closer and deepened the kiss.
As he pulled away, he looked at me wide-eyed before screaming "Oh my gosh! What are you doing here!" into my face as I saw tears well up in his eyes. "Awww, is our little Jaehwannie crying?" I teased him. "Yah, don't make fun of me... I really missed you," he whined as he pulled me in for a hug that was so tight I was sure I was going to suffocate to death soon. "B-babe... A-air," I managed to stutter out before Jaehwan finally let go of me while smiling sheepishly. "I'm sorry, I'm just so glad you're here. It's been hell being away from you," Jaehwan whined as he pulled me in to cuddle in bed.
"I think it's been hell for the other members instead," I chuckled as Jaehwan looked down at me with a confused look on his face. "They've been complaining to me about your constant whining," I continued before smacking his arm lightly. "Yah, I'm the one whose girlfriend is halfway across the globe. What do they know?" He complained as he pulled me in closer so that my face was on his chest.
"So, did you miss me?" Jaehwan chirped happily as he rubbed my right arm continuously to create some warmth.
"Hmmm a little," I stated as-a-matter-of-factly and he immediately stopped his rubbing action. I looked up to see that he was sulking and pouting altogether while giving me those puppy dog eyes of his. "I'm kidding, I missed you a lot too, but not to the point where I annoyed the living hell out of my friends," I chuckled as his face scrunched up into a huge smile before placing a small peck on my forehead.
"Kiss me," Jaehwan demanded with an authoritative voice and I was happy to comply. As I leant in for the kiss, we suddenly heard 3 knocks from the wall.
Knock knock knock
"Yah! I said no sexy business!" N's voice roared from the room next door before we heard Hyuk and Hongbin telling him off for interrupting our 'catching up'. Jaehwan and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes both at the same time. Well, at least I was back in his arms and everything felt perfect again.
