Almira's POV
Sometimes it easier to pretend that you didn't hear anything , cause hearing something that kills you inside? then I'll just have to act like I don't care , like I used to do .
I know Stephanie , very well . Ever since we were kids , and become teens . I've always got her back , I always spy on her . Not for my sake , but for her .
There's a time na nalaman kong trinaydor niya ako , but all I have to do is to pretend . I don't care how many times do I have to pretend to be okay , all I know is to take care of her and to her feelings .
Kasi alam ko sa sarili ko na sobrang sinsitibo ni Stephanie , and I don't want us to be separated . Kahit na labag sa kalooban kong maging manhid at hayaan nalang siya sa mga pinaggagawa niya , what should I do? she's my best friend after all .
Pero , ang pinagtataka ko lang , ay kung bakit niya iyon ginagawa . Wala akong ideya sa mga rason niya , para gawin niya ang mga yun . But whatever her reason is , I'll try to understand . Even though it's hard to understand , I'll try .
We're currently heading home , with this stranger . Gosh! bakit pa kasi sinama eh! may gusto ba talaga siya sa lalakeng ito? ano bang nakita niya sa kanya? except sa pagiging gwapo , pero still! PERSONALITY IS A MUST! right? mas uunahin pa ba ang itsura kesa sa pag-uugali?
" Where do you live , anyway? If you don't mind . " tanong ni Stephanie. Sinabayan nya ang paglalakad ni Mr. Stranger, habang ako nasa likod nila.
" Somewhere " he said
somewhere? pa mysterious pa!
" Pero bakit ka nandoon sa school? are you a former student there , during your elementary days? " wow , interesado talaga siya? seryoso?
OH MY GOSH!
" Nope. I just happened to pass by , and I suddenly heard you . " napakunot naman ang noo ko .
Heard you? anong ibig sabihin niya?
" Ahh , you might heard me screaming when I'm about to fall down , right? " she said .
No. Isn't just that. If he's just happened to pass by and suddenly heard her shouted or screaming or whatsoever! you think , isn't it too fast? I mean , sobrang bilis naman ata niya para makapunta agad sa rooftop ng school di ba? and analyze about what he said , HE JUST HAPPENED TO PASS BY . Right?
Yeah right , I shouldn't do this to some random guys . But hell! nakakapagtaka lang talaga! isipin niyo? nasa baba siya , then kami nasa itaas! ano siya? si flash?
" Deep thoughts? " I suddenly gaps , when he whispered on my ears .
WHAT THE HELL!!
" Excuse me? we're not close to tell you my thoughts! " well said . But I creased my forehead , when he step closer to me . Hell yeah!
Hindi ko pala napansing sinasabayan na nya ako sa paglalakad.
" Now , is it enough? " he said and step closer to me.
I pushed him , but every pushes I did , seems not enough . What is he? why is he so damn strong?!
" Seems not enough , try harder ? " he said while looking at me , intently .
" What's going on? "agad ko naman siyang naitulak ng malakas , ng mapansin ni Stephanie na wala ng nakasunod sa kanya .
" this guy is so ---- " magsasalita na sana ako ng biglaan niya akong inakbayan , dahilan para madurog ang puso ni Stephanie .
I know how much he likes this guy
" She's just too cute , to be ignored . Right? ang cute mo! " he said and pinched my cheeks .
" Yeah , you're right " malumanay na sabi ni Stephanie , so that agad kong inalis ang braso ng lalakeng ito sa balikat ko at dali-daling umakbay kay Stephanie .
" Don't believe him Stephanie , bolero yan! " sabi ko
" How did you know? did you already met before? " she said , dahilan para kunotan ko siya ng noo .
" Of course not! at kung Oo , dapat ay sinabi ko na sayo. " paliwanag ko
" Eh bakit parang close na agad kayo? " sabi niya
Ano daw?
" Listen to me Stephanie , we didn't know each other . Nagkakamali ka lang ng akala , okay? " I explained . But no matter how many times I explained the situation , she didn't ever understand . Kasi mas uunahin niya pa ang kanyang nararamdaman , kesa sa nararamdaman ko .
" Shut up! kahit pa man noon , inaagaw mo na ang lahat na dapat ay sa akin! nakaka-inis ka talaga Almira!!!!!!! " she said and walked out . What?
She left me dumbfounded .
I was looking at her while she left me dumbfounded , I really don't understand her . I almost forget myself because I always think about her , but look how she acts stupid !
" Why? why did she always walking out like this? Am I wrong? then , what's wrong with me? " I asked myself why , cause there's no one out there will .
" It's because , she's insecure " napatingin agad ako sa kanya .
But why?
" Maybe, you're too pretty? or maybe, the way things go , the way people treated you like a precious thing , and the way your family loved you . Those things , that's why she hated you , like a criminal . " he said
Like a criminal?
" Pero , nandito naman ako para sa kanya ah? family ko , friends namin . We're here for her , pero talagang manhid siya . O sadyang hindi lang sapat sa kanya ang lahat " sabi ko
I was about to cry , but I hold back my tears . Because at the time like this , I must be the one to understand .

But when I'm about to follow her , I was so shocked when he suddenly hugged my back . What is he doing? At the second time , I was left dumbfounded .
" It's okay to hold back , but don't lose care of yourself . Remember that " he said
What's with this guy?
" Tears can be trusted more than smile , because you can easily smile at anybody , but can't cry for anyone without true feelings . You really are something , Almira " he said while still hugging my back .
" Umiyak ka , umiyak ka hanggang maubos ang luha mo , umiyak ka hangga't gusto mo . Because for me , it's better to cry than to be angry . Because anger hurts others , while tears flow silently through the soul and cleanses the heart . So , cry . Just don't be shy . " when he said that , hindi ko na mapigilan pa ang mga luhang gustong-gusto ng pumatak sa pisngi ko .
I cried not because of her , I cried because I can't handle it anymore . If I insist , it may cause me a mental breakdown . At iyon ang ayaw kong mangyari sa sarili ko , dahil pag nagkataon sisisihin na naman niya ang sarili niya . Gaya ng nangyari dati . It's a long story , at kung maikling storya man iyon , I'm too tired to tell you .
" Why? why did she have to be insecure? I don't fucking understand her anymore! " I asked him , with my tears falling down .
He wiped my tears , slowly . Like slowly to be surely .
" Why? why are you so kind to me? " I said , while looking at him . Like a beggar .
It was like a Romeo and Juliet moment , it's like my ending is near . My feelings . Tho.
" I just have this urge to be kind to those people who carried a lot of burden , you know? " he said , and I smiled .
