“What?” I asked him as I saw the look of confusion that was now plastered across his features. For a few moments he said nothing and it bothered me and made me worry. Who could this person be and why did Niall seem so flustered that he or she was here. Niall sucked in a deep breath through his gritted teeth and opened his door. “Thats my Ex’s car” is all he said before getting out and walking around to my side and opening the door for me.
I got out of his car leaving my bag on the seat telling myself i’ll return for it later, and followed him up the long walk way to the beautiful beach house that looked amazing next to the ocean. “Why would your ex be here. How can you be so certain that that is her car?” I asked as we reached the front door. “I would like to know myself and I know it's her car because I was there when she bought it. I mouthed the word oh without saying it as we entered the house.
I decided it would be best not to question him anymore about it thinking he’d probably tell me in time.
As I looked around the house and noted that it was huge. It made my flat look like a hole in the wall. The ceilings were high and vaulted in the main room where only a few people had began to gather. Some people had already started setting up and I could see a beer pong table against the far wall near door that ran outside to the beach. There was a staircase off to the left of the door which i’m guessing ran up to the bedrooms.
I followed Niall through the living room into the kitchen where i saw Zayn setting out snacks.n How many people are coming “ I asked Zayn as he set a bag of cool ranch doritos onto the counter. “Oh hmmmmmmmm….. now that you mention it I don’t really know”, He answered with a chuckle. Oh goody there could be hundreds. Niall and I began to help set up with Zayn. Niall and Zayn had to carry the beer kegs, I couldn’t because they thought i’d hurt myself, which was probably true because i’m very clumsy.

About an hour and a half later everything was set up and ready. Alcohol was on the counter ready to be drunk, however I didn’t plan on having any because im underage and I didn’t want to make any decisions I would regret later. There were also what seemed like a year supply. A lot more people had started to show up now. I estimated about 50-60 people in the massive living room alone. Most were dancing to the loud house music and laughing. Others were talking and playing beer pong, or daring each other to take shots of mixed liquor.
Niall had wandered off about 15 minutes ago and I hadn’t seen him since. In grabbed a Soda from the cooler and walked into the living room, in a sad attempt to socialize. I stood against a wall for about 20 minutes before a peppy brunette walked over smiling. “You must be Hunter!” she shouted to me over the loud music “I’m Eleunor, Louis Girlfriend. He told me you would be here.”
“Yeah Niall invited me” I say to her in a lame attempt to keep the conversation from dieing. We wound up talking for about an hour about why i'm here, how long i’d be here for her and of course I asked some questions of my own. They were mainly about the boys and why they seemed so friendly. She ended the conversation by telling me she had to go find Louis and make sure he was behaving himself.
By this point my soda can was bone dry and I was beginning to get a headache from the loud music. I decided I would go and grab another soda and head outside for some much needed fresh air.
As I walked into the Kitchen I saw Niall leaning against the counter with his hands on some blonde girls hips her hands placed against his chest. I don’t know why but for the first time since my previous relationship I actually felt jealous and slightly hurt by this. I know i’ve only know him for a few days, I didn’t understand why I would be feeling jealous we were just friends. I walked over to the cooler, since the fridge was filled with beer. I grabbed a coke and glanced toward Niall and instantly regretted because when our eyes met his face fell. He pushed the girl away and called my name as I walked away but I pretended that I didn’t hear him and kept walking making my way outside with ease.
I pushed past all the people who lead outside and down onto the beach. There was a bonfire going and people laughing and casually talking.I could hear Louis, Eleunor, Liam and Zayn laughing after Louis finished what he said. When Eleunor’s eyes met mine she smiled and waved beckoning me to come over but i smiled and shook my head not feeling like socializing anymore. I’m glad I lost Niall in the sea of people walking out here because I no longer felt like talking to him. I was slowly starting to realize I avoided parties for a reason. They were too loud and just not where I liked or wanted to be.
Instead of joining everyone else at the fire I walked down the beach along the water and sat down to where I could no longer hear the noise of the party. The sound of the crashing waves must be drowning out the noise. I popped the soda can open and sipped at it. It didn’t taste like the coke we had back in America this stuff was less sweet.
Finally feeling relaxed for the first time since arriving at the party I looked up at the sky and watched the stars. The peace i was enjoying was cut short by the sound of approaching footsteps scrunching through the sand. Snapping my head in the direction they were coming from I was surprised when I saw that it was Harry.
“This spot taken?” he asked gesturing to the spot next to me. I simply shook my head and answered no. I watched him plop down beside me and stretch his legs out in front of him before I turned my attention back to the rolling waves of the ocean in front of us. “So why are you sitting out here alone, away from everyone” He asked his voice a bit raspy. I gave him a dull stare before answering him “because I hate parties.” He had this mischievous light dancing in his eyes.
“Then why bother even coming if you’re so antisocial?” he spoke again his voice even more raspy and a bit snotty.
“Because Niall asked me too and i'm to nice to tell him no.” I answered him a bit irritated at the way he was speaking to me.
“Hmm…. is that so, then why aren’t you hanging out with him?” he questioned again his voice taunting me.
“Because I lost him inside” I half lied as I answered. I did lose him inside but thats not the reason i was out here and I didnt plan on telling Harry that right now.
“Why all the questions? Why in the hell do you even care?” I snap back at him. He is so irritating.
“Whoa….Chill I was just curious, you don’t need to get all defensive” He said his snotty tone vanishing.
I sigh and take a deep breath. “Sorry…” I huff “I didnt mean to snap at you, but you ask a lot of questions and you’re interrupting my peace and quiet.”
He gives me a small smile and holds up his hands “oh im so sorry” he says placing his hand over his heart. “I didn’t know this beach was reserved for you your majesty .”
I couldn’t help but chuckle “har har you’re so funny”
“I try” He smiles and slightly chuckles. His laugh was actually enjoyable and made me smile.
I turn my attention back to the water. Nothing else being said we sat in silence next to each other for a long time before Harry finally speaks again. “I’m the one that should be sorry.”
“Why?” I ask and he lets out a long sigh before finally giving me the answer to the question.
“Because when we met earlier today at the cafe I was very rude and disrespectful to you. I didn’t even say hi. I was being rude for no reason at all and for that I'm sorry. Will you forgive me?”
I felt my cheeks heat up as I blushed at his sincerity. “It’s okay, really” I say back to him giving him an understanding smile. This Harry wasn’t the same one that i had met earlier today. It was nice talking to him without his condescending attitude.
To change the topic I decided to ask him a question. “Why are you out here away from the party?” I sat back and waited for his answer.
“Because I have a headache and too many drunk girls were trying to get into my pants.” My mouth fell open a bit. “what?” I hear him question?
“Oh nothing” i say back “I only thought that happened in the movies” I give off a nervous laugh and Harry smiles at me.
We talked for a long while. It was now one in the morning, however I didn’t care because Harry and I surprisingly had a lot in common. I also found out that he was extremely easy to talk to just like Niall is. “So do you have a boyfriend” he asks and my heart sinks. I was hoping that tonight I wouldn’t have to think of Luca. I was praying tonight I would be able to escape the overwhelming guilt that I felt. I luckily didn’t have to answer him because our conversation was interrupted when I heard Niall’s Voice
“There you are…..I’ve been looking for you all over.”
