As I glance at the daisy
slowly wilting away in a vase
I examine
the intricate, designed
fragile petals
The perfect arrangement
Which was all by nature's design
The stem once attached to the growing, moving earth
now floating around in some kitchen water
soaking up the purified water
after bathing the rain;
Here it serves a purpose
but only one;
a decoration
just another ornament
to flourish my dull bedroom
While, when he was outside
he was apart cosmos
serving in the circle of life
worms feeding on his roots, sun kissing his petals
to attract the bees which would pollinate the world
Looking gorgeous while doing all his little jobs
but once he was plucked
he was relieved of his services
And I think to myself,
Did we do him a favor,
or a disservice
