I wish all my tears were happy tears.
It pains me to admit they're not.

There's one.
Rolling down my face.
Clouding my thoughts.
Stealing my voice.
There's another.
And another.
Floodgates.
I hate them.
One after the other, they fall.
And somehow every tear hurts more than the last.
Impairing my vision.
Halting my breathing.
And a laugh bursts through my lips.
You can hear the despair, the sorrow.
Not every laugh is fueled by happiness.
I wish all my tears were happy tears,
But it seems very few of them ever are.
Crying at all is not allowed...not in my castle on a cloud.
