I am from a small living room in a small house
to a three floored duplex with a cold stone basement.
From an awkward silence at dinner
to loud family reunions with people I don’t know.
I am from midnight Pascha services
to early morning Christmas brunch at my Grandparents.
I am from thick hard covered books
to muddy soccer fields and standing in the goal.
I am from my dad coaching me from the sidelines
to late night reading and popcorn eating.
I am from arms filled with piles of books
to my team slapping me on the back and celebrating.
I am from running in unfamiliar neighborhoods and getting lost.
To running next to other girls on a track at howard wood.
I am from wearing a purple tutu with snow boots
to wearing polka dot dresses.
I am from getting my sisters in trouble
to getting in trouble myself.
I am from straight A’s in elementary school
to straight A’s in middle school.
I am from sitting in the spaceship reading during recess
to reading during lunch and freetime.
I’m from walking through the dirty street of Sioux Falls
to hiking towards the ‘M’ in Bozeman, Montana.
I am from my moms personalities
to my dads sports interests and beyond.
I am from my family and friends and everybody I love.
