Once we had a neighbour.
She was fat and sat on her porch from dawn to dusk.
She knew everyone's secrets.
She gossiped from dawn to dusk.
She had a weak daughter with a big mouth.
Her daughter was my mother's informer.
She told my mom about my escapades.
She told my mom the time I smoked with the high school girls.
She told my mom I was always at the detention and not tuition.
She had finally got my attention.
And I pulled her into a corner while she was coming from the grocery shop.
I disposed the hot sauce in her mouth for a warning.
My mother whipped me for an hour that night.
I couldn't sleep on my back for a week.
I had to cover the whip marks on my arms.
My mother traveled.
"Don't make trouble. " She said.
"I won't " I promised.
I saw her again passing by the corner I usually hang out.
Her pink dress had glitters and her hair was glowing.
She looked happy.
She looked radiant.
My body still ached due to the the whip.
I was pained and troubled emotionally.
Complete opposite of her upbeat mood.
I smashed her face on the wall.
Her whale like mother finally got up from the porch and called her husband.
He came from work and smashed my face on the wall of our house.
My aunt visited me to ask me to stalk her cheating husband.
I was not in a state to tail a man and his whores.
My aunt dialed my mother and informed her about the agonizing trouble that had befallen upon me.
"I wouldn't care if she even got stabbed. " Said my mother.
But at least I ruined that snitche's upbeat mood and crumbled it to my gloomy one.
