Once when I was in grade 3, there was a smart girl who lived next to us.
My mother admired her and wished I was like her.
And so she forced me to be friends with her.
Perhaps she would rub off her smartness on me.
When we were studying science, I would draw fish and eat cookies and leave her to study.
She would call me dumb.
She was the only one who spoke to me in class.
I didn't tell her to fuck off for that matter.
When she got the test results she flashed her A's on my face and I flashed my F's on her eyes.
I didn't know grades mattered.
Our class teacher called me dumb.
But so did my mother.
I thought dumb was my second name.
My mom told me to go out and play with her.
Perhaps she would brighten up my dull mind.
When I asked if I could play with her, she hit the ball on my eye.
She laughed.
Her friends laughed.
I laughed.
At dinnertime, mom saw my red eye.
I told her what happened.
She took the steak away and gave me sausage.
I hated sausage.
But liars got only sausage in our house.
Honest kids ate steak and candy.
"Do not sleep before finishing that sausage " My mom said.
On Monday morning, I went to class early.
She was always the first one in class just to get praised by the teacher.
I was counting on that.
And when I found her alone reading an encyclopedia, I locked the class and shoved the sausage in her mouth and hit the encyclopedia on her eye.
I was suspended for a week.
I ate sausage for a week.
I didn't watch cartoon for a week.
But at least I had the last laugh.
Fuck her.
