The red eye landed in Los Angeles at 3 am and it was far to late for me to see my mother much less my father. I pulled my iPhone out of my pocket and texted my dad
imessage : Dad, We've just landed in L.A. don't bother yourself about coming down Lauren and I are getting a hotel i'll come see you at the house tomorrow.
imessage From Dad: "Ok honey thank you for coming get some sleep you must be tired i'll see you tomorrow sweetheart I love you Honey"
imessage: Love you too Dad...
with that, I slid my phone back into my pocket and walked with Lauren to the baggage claim to claim our luggage my mind was still a bit distraught but I had to pull it together and keep it together for Lauren I glanced at her she appeared very tires and confused. We checked into our hotel suite and got ourselves situated I sat on the bed in our room the silence was so still you could probably cut it with a knife.
"Babe i'm going to go take a shower" Lauren said as she walked past me I grabbed her hand and stood up
"I love you you know that right?" I asked as I stared into her eyes Lauren glanced down sadly at the floor I gently lifted her chin up so that her eyes were focused on me as I leaned in and placed a soft yet passionate kiss on her lips allowing the kiss to linger for a bit before pulling away
"I love you too babe, I'm just scared you really scared me but i'm here for you okay and i'll be here with you through this just as you were with me through my time of need" She said a small yet sad smile crossed my face before I placed another sweet kiss on her lips. Lauren slowly made her way to the bathroom to have a shower as I sat back down on the bed and buried my head in my hands.
Lauren and I woke early the next morning around 9 am and had a small breakfast though I couldn't stomach food at the moment I ate a few bites just to give me enough strength. We met up with my Dad at the Hospice that my mom was being taken care of in Lauren and I walked to the nurses station and were given the room number as we walked down the hallway and rounded the corner to my moms private room my heart sank in my chest when I witnessed how small and fragile my mom looked my mom was a beautiful woman but her beauty had seemed to fade and she appeared old and tired her hair was completely gone. I felt the tears weld up in my eyes but I faught them back I felt a hand touch my shoulder and glanced over to see Lauren looking at me with the saddest eyes
"Hello, sweetheart are you y/n Mrs. y/l/n/ daughter?" a Nurse asked
"Yes, yeah I am her daughter " I said keeping my eyes on my moms small body laying motionless on the hospital bed
"I just want you to know that we are doing everything we can to make sure that you mother is as comfortable as possible though her condition is terminal we are sure to take the best care of her so you need not worry she's a bit fragile and can get sick easily she's a fighter but we've never seen this type of cancer progress so fast.. I'll leave you be" the nurse exclaimed as she left the room gently closing the door behind her.
I walked up to my mom and stared at her laying motionless as a tear fell from my eye I quickly wiped it away and Lauren came to my side the faint sound of coughing turned my attention back to my mom who was now looking at Lauren and I
"Hi Mom" I said with a shaky tone in my voice I glanced down to see my mom trying to reach for my hand which I calmly placed in hers.
"My baby, My sweet,sweet baby, I'm so sorry for everything I've said and everything I've ever done to hurt you baby I thought for sure you didn't care about me but now that I see you are here I know that you do"
my moms glossy blue eyes tailed to Lauren and a small smile crossed her lips
"Lauren, I know there's nothing that I can say to ever make you forgive me but I am sorry for what I said I am so sorry for hurting you and causing you to get hurt because of my ignorance I don't know how much longer i'll be here but I look at you two and I can see how much you love one another I look at my daughter and I see how much she is in love with you... Love is loudest Please take care of my baby for me" my mom cried as she brought our hands together and kissed them
"Take care of each other, and if you two should ever have a disagreement or argue.. don't walk away don't ever walk away instead always remember why and how you fell in love.. Take care of my baby please..."
The sound of a loud beep startled me from my trance and before I could react I was being surrounded by nurses and a Dr who cautiously pushed Lauren and I from the room
"We need for you two to give us a little space and step outside please" a nurse said as she quickly ushered Lauren and I to the door
"No wait! get your fucking hands off of me what's happening!! what's wrong with my mom!" I yelled trying to find my way back to her bedside I caught a glimpse of two nurses attempting CPR on my mom but failing to retain a breath or heartbeat
"GET OFF OF ME!! MOM!! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME MOM!!!! MOOOOOM!!"

"Dearly Beloved, We are gathered here to day on this day of a new beginning into recognize and honor the life of (Whatever you want the mom's name to be because I cant remember if I named her or not i'm tired ok ) She was a wife, a sister, and a mother to a beautiful daughter but her death will not be in vain her legacy will live on through her Husband John and her daughter Y/N which I as sure they will always keep her memory alive... Let's all bow our heads and pray .. "Ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil.. for thou are with me.... Amen
My mom passed away suddenly her cancer had progressed far faster than any of us could imagine... days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months and time went on my mother was gone and I missed her... I missed her more than I had ever thought . I sat outside on my balcony watching the waves crash into the rocks I had been sitting for over an hour thinking about everything. I stood up and walked to the edge of the balcony pressing my body against the railing as I closed my eyes and breathed in the cool sea breeze
"Baby do you need anything? are you ok?" Lauren's soft yet raspy voice asked I turned to see those beautiful Emerald eyes that I had fallen so deeply in love with.
"No, I'm fine baby just have a lot on my mind Lauren and I had now been together for almost 2 years and each day I just fell deeper and deeper in love with her I loved waking up with her sleeping beside me I loved holding her on cold nights and just having her in my life it had changed so much. I snapped out of my daze and stared at Lauren as she stood beside me staring out into the ocean I watched as the cool breeze gently blew her dark hair subtly into her face she was so beautiful (pic below)
Lauren appeared to be in deep thought so all that I could do was stare at her.
"Lauren..." I whispered as she turned to look at me a small smile crossed her face
"I love you..." I said
"I love you too baby" she replied her eyes still glued to me.
my heart raced and my breathing became rapid. as I reached into my pocket grasping a shiny metal object my heart pounded and I felt as if I may faint but I held myself together
with Lauren's eyes still on me her facial expression turned from one of pure love to one of concern
'Baby what's wrong?" she asked with furrowed brows. she watched as a single tear rolled down my cheek and I began to get down on one knee her hands quickly flew to her mouth and tears filled her eyes
"Lauren Michelle Jauregui, I know we've only known each other for two years, I know this may be too soon, I know I may even be looking a little crazy right now but ever since the day you came into my life I couldn't picture my world without you in it and I don't want to any longer, I've gained so much in my life and at the same time I've also lost a lot but the ONE thing that I know I can't bare to loose is you. will you marry me?" I asked still on one knee
at that moment Lauren completed lost herself and began crying she engulfed me in the tightest hug and we both cried together in each others arms. after a while I pulled myself together and glanced at her "Will yo-"
"Yes! ,yes i'll marry you baby yes!" She choked out as her tears fell from her eyes I gently wiped them away and kissed her before gently sliding the ring onto her finger.
"We don't have to plan anything now I want you to be completely sure that you want to do this and if you're not ready i'll wait as long as I have to until you are" I said reassuring her that there was no pressure for her to quickly decide even though she had already said yes Lauren stared at the rings and nodded her head as her tears flowed from her eyes
"I love you so so much" she said
"I love you too,always"
A/N three updates on this story in ONE DAY! you guys truly deserved this! I deffinatley pushed myself to the limit! I said to myself that I wasn't going to put this marriage thing in until later but as I started writing this chapter and the way that things flowed I figured I'd throw in a unexpected surprise! tell me what you guys think pls leave feedback l and comments OH another thing this story will not be updated again until next Thursday I am going to NOW start working on the other stories love you guys! peace n love always
