Chapter 29
Transylvania
My eyes were glued to the ceiling the whole night. I glanced at the clock… 6:23 am. I shot out of bed, and walked over to the kitchen.
I poured myself a glass of water, and gulped it down. Water was the only other thing that I ate/drank besides blood.
I put the glass in the sink, and washed the remaining dishes. I through my old clothes from yesterday in my hamper, and grabbed a new pair of blue jeans, and a black V-neck.
I put on my old silver chain, and put an extra pair of clothes in a grocery bag just in case. I put it beside the door, and I checked the time.
7:02 am.
I grabbed my phone and pressed number 1, which was taxi.
I put the phone up to my ear and a guy answered, “Hello, welcome to taxi services, what is your address?”
I muttered, “787 Courtney cress.” He replied, “Okay, I will be there as soon as I can.” I mumbled, “Bye,” and hung up.
I grabbed my keys and my bag, and locked the door. I sat on the bench in front of my house, when a very pretty girl walked by.
She looked at me, and stopped walking. I smiled, and she smiled back.
She said seductively, “Hey there pretty boy.” I bit my lip, and muttered, “Hey there, sorry I have a girlfriend.”
She looked around me and replied, annoyed, “I don’t see any girlfriend.”
I scowled and barked, “She’s at home.” I lied. She nodded her head and rolled her eyes. She mumbled, “Lucky bitch,” and kept on walking.
After a couple of minutes the taxi pulled up in front of my house. I got up, and picked up my bag.
I walked over to the taxi, and got in the front seat. He asked, “Where to?”
I told him, “To the main Phoenix airport.” He nodded, and started to drive.
The whole car ride was silent, and when he pulled up in front of the airport, I gave him $50, and muttered, “Keep the change.”
He nodded and thanked me, and I opened the door. I got out, and he drove off.
I gripped onto my little grocery bag tightly, and bit my lip, looking at the signs, trying to remember which gate to go to.
People will probably think I’m stupid, traveling with just one little grocery bag that’s half full, but I don’t care.
I’m doing this for Carissa. Gate 3! That’s right! I ran up to gate 3 and entered.
I looked at my phone; it was 7:59 am. I have 2 hours before the plane leaves… I have plenty of time.
I sat down at a lounge booth, when a beautiful waitress came up to me, holding a tray with water, black coffee, and tea.
She asked, “Would you like a drink sir?” I replied, “No thank you.”
She smiled, and sat down in front of me.
I felt kind of uncomfortable… first of all she is supposed to be working, not flirting with me… but she was gorgeous, so I didn’t mind.
She asked, “Are you sure? You look a little… pale.” Well no fucking duh I look pale, I’m a vampire!
I spat back, “No I don’t want a freaking drink.” She narrowed her eyes, and changed the subject, “Okay, where’s your flight going?”
I muttered, “Transylvania.” She nodded her head and smiled, her perfect teeth flashing me. I bit my lip, and she fluttered her eyes.
She remarked, “Oh, home of the bloodsuckers.” Then she winked. At that instant I thought of Carissa, when she said that when I was explaining everything to her.
Oh God how I miss her! I smiled back nervously, and she asked, just to make sure, “Are you sure you don’t want anything to drink, or maybe eat?”
I shook my head. She nodded, and stood up, picking up her tray.
She waved good-bye with her fingers and whispered, “Bye, nice meeting you.” I nodded my head, waving bye back.
I checked the time… 8:32 am. I rolled my eyes. God the time was going by so slow! I might as well just get my boarding pass.
I got up, and grabbed my bag. I walked down to the boarding pass line, and waited there for 15 minutes.
When it was finally my turn, I walked up to the counter, and the guy greeted me. He greeted, “Hello sir, can I have your information?”
I nodded, and told him my name and where I was going to. He found it, and printed out the boarding pass.
He handed it to me, and told me, “Put your luggage onto here please.”
I lifted up my grocery bag, and mumbled, “All I have is this carry on.” He looked at me funny, and I glanced at his name-tag.
His name is Ted. He winced, and replied, “Um, okay.” I walked away and heard him scream, “Next!”
I went back down to the lounge, because I’ll just go through security when it’s an hour until my flight leaves.
I sat back down at the same booth, but this time put my grocery bag beside me, not on the ground. I held the boarding pass in my hand, not wanting to lose it.
The waitress waved to me again, and I waved back. She was sweet.
I called her over and asked, “Actually can I have a glass of water?” She nodded and handed me a bottle from her tray.
I asked, “How much?” She mumbled, “$1.” I nodded, and handed her a buck.
She thanked me, and went to give it to the girl working the cashier. I checked the time… 9:04 am. I got up, and waved good-bye to the waitress.
She waved good-bye back, and I grabbed my grocery bag. I walked over to security, and everything went fine.
I grabbed my grocery bag again, and walked over to my flight waiting area. I waited for 15 minutes, and checked the clock…
9:46 am.
My flights going to be here soon and it doesn’t say delayed so I’m good.
I tapped my foot, wondering what will happen when the King and Queen see me burst through the doors.
The thought just makes me scared. After a little while of reading a newspaper I found beside me on a chair, they announced that you can start getting on the plane.
I got up, grabbed my bag, and my boarding pass. I waited in line, and then finally they scanned it, and I went through.
Now, nothing bad can happen, except the plane crashing.
I buckled my seat belt because the captain said, “Prepare for take-off.” I lay my head back, and rested.
It took a couple of hours to get to Transylvania, but we finally landed and I got out onto Transylvania airport.
I got out of the airport, and found a guy on a horse drawn carriage to take me to the King and Queen’s palace.
I said, “Okay, hop on.” I nodded, handed him the money, and he started up his black Friesian and white Arabian.
We arrived in front of the King’s palace, and I thanked him.
He rode off, and I walked slowly up to the doors. There were 2 guards, not letting me through, but I lied and said I was a very good friend of Nathan’s.
They believed my ghetto lie, and let me through. I stormed in, seeing the long red-carpet aisle and the King and Queen scolding… Carissa.
They all looked at me, when Carissa dropped the tray, and yelled, “Tyler!”
