Serene's POV
...I must be stupid...
why would i like a man i never even met before?
Anyways...Its been going on since i was still a kid, around after my sister was killed, til i was my present age, all this time we had been writing each other, now mind you i was still young and irritably naive despite everything that had happened...
But we wrote all the time, about lots of things...and one of the best parts: was my mother never suspected anything cause the letters came in hidden places where only i would ever look, i never thought too much on how he knew where i lived in the first place...but I kept quiet about it, but now and then my mother would catch me day dreaming, being anxious, or at meal times i would poke at my food or when playing by myself in the parks i would gaze out into the distance...
i would always tell mom it was nothing, so she didn't push it, thank goodness, but she would poke in my room seeing me write down things on the paper rather fast and always seeing a cheerful smile on my face, something she never saw too much of.
So she assumed i had a crush on someone and thought it was Casey, cause we were always hanging out together. we had returned to New York by then. I didn't want to say to her that we are only friends cause i wanted to spare myself irritating questions.
So here's where things start to shift with this guy: We may have talked for years about everything...or what i thought was everything...but i would somehow be thinking that there was something missing...that there was more to him than what he had told me...soon i began to become more anxious, to know what he looked like, and he soon wrote to me in a letter one day as if he read my mind that he would like me to come meet him in a few days. i was excited about that so much
But...
As always something has to unexpectedly happen to me: i got kidnapped by these robots called Kraang, and i was mutated into a snow leopard,
and then I met mutated turtles and their rat father as well that day and to my surprise Casey knew them! Casey took the chance to tell my mother what had happened to me and she thanked him, but when i got home, nothing seemed to change, i just locked myself in my room and sat in the dark, looking at myself, my new tail was the longest and bushy -est thing ever, but in a way i kinda liked my new look... most people would hide in fear and want a cure, but me? i didn't want nothing of it. But....I couldn't think about anything else but...him...what would my pen pal think of a mutated freak?
Guess i would have to find out in person...and when the last letter came, it had a picture of a park, i recognized it almost immediately and at the first chance, i slipped out of the house, it was 11 pm but i didn't care, i had to put my nerves to rest. I was careful to avoid the main streets of people and cars, for obvious reasons, i was a mutated cat!
When I arrived to a abandoned ally way and passed under the bridge, where the train had passed over, i looked around for any people, and once I set foot inside of the park a uneasy feeling started to nag me, maybe it was the trees dancing in the wind all around me or just the dark shadows...

Normal POV
Serene felt a chill go up her arms and she stopped in her tracks
'Yeah this was a bad idea...but...i want to see him' she thought, how stupid of her to think this way of a stranger...she may have been older now, but still had a bit of her innocent naivety

Serene stiffed and looked at the path to her right, for some reason besides the obvious noise she heard, she felt like she was being watched...from far away, Serene looked up at the trees, there was no one but when she looked back down and to her left three guys came out of the shadows, Serene took a step back as they came closer to her
"well well, what have we here?" the skinny one said
Serene glared at them, not saying a word
"Aw you lost cutie?" the bigger one Sid taunted the middle sized one Tsoi, laughed and crossed his arms. These guys had to be in a gang or something
Serene felt her cat ears turn downward into her head, it wasn't out of fear, she let out a soft growl, one that a house cat would make, when mad.
when she felt something touch her "Don't touch me!" she hissed as her paw smacked one guys hand away from her hair, the middle skinny one Fong rubbed his hand from the scratch and smirked at her as Serene crossed her arms "run along home before you get hurt more" she warned, which only made him lick his lips in a sick way
Sid had bared his teeth annoyed
"oh is that right? you got some spunk talking to us like that" he said as he grabbed a hold of her wrist pulling her to his chest, Serene did not want to touch this idiot but he was too close so she moved her arm against his chest only to get forced more close, she groaned, also getting a whiff of the reeking cologne and alcohol mixed in this guys clothes. She wanted to gag as she covered her nose, the scent being stronger than she thought
"lets teach her some respect" Fong said pulling out a knife, grabbing her arm, Serene struggled against his bony hand and managed to punch him in his chin, breaking free for only a moment before getting grabbed this time, by both wrists and by Sid, his grip on her wrists began to hurt and she whimpered softly making Fong grin and licked his lips
"mm this girl is a cute one" Serene glared at him as he took her chin in his hand turning her head a bit to each side, Fong glanced at the two guys as Tsoi spoke up
"Yo, shes a freak tho!!" he said
"So what?" Sid said
"yeah, you thinkin what i'm thinkin guys?" they two of them nodded
"oh yea, lets teach this bitch not to talk back to us" Fong said
serene glanced at each of them before struggling even more, "Let me go, you creeps!" having a faint idea of what he meant, but before they could start however, Fong got knocked out by a big fist, he groaned on the grass and a deep voice sounded off soon after from the shadows of the trees near them
"If you desire to keep breathing, release her now" the two guys and Serene looked ahead of them seeing a tall silhouette in the shadows,
Sid shoved Serene to the side and stepped toward the shadows
"Oh yeah? who tellin?" he yelled soon the stranger grabbed Sid's face and dragged him into the Shadows roaring, Tsoi look terrified and ran to help Sid. Now alone, Serene rubbed her wrists a little before hearing pleas of mercy and blows landing, when the stranger picked up a picture off the grass he knocked out the last of the gang members and once it became silent
Serene wanted to smack herself 'way to be a damsel, you weakling!' she thought harshly of herself, she hated the fact that she had to be rescued especially when she had weapons on her now. She snapped back to reality, when she heard footsteps approaching her she prepared herself for a fight but stopped when the stranger revealed himself, it was a mutant tiger he crossed his arms and her face was a bit shocked....
Was this the person i was sensing around...? what was he doing out here?
"Do not be afraid. They won't bother you again" he said in a soothing voice and for some reason Serene calmed down a bit before standing up straight and looked down at the ground
"I'm not...but, thank you..for what you did" she said brushing off a leaf and taking off her hood, seeing no need to hide herself if her rescuer was a mutant like herself, she looked up at him seeing a shocked expression across his face before it turned serious moments later
Tiger claw - "..."
'She was mutated...' he thought
Serene felt a bit uncomfortable with him staring at her, she moved her paw onto her arm nervously
"what?" she asked in a soft voice
"You didn't look...did you?" he asked, Serene gave him a confused look
"Look at what?"
he lifted the picture up to her view, she gasped and felt the inside of her pocket where the picture uset to be
"I must've dropped it when those jerks had me...wait" she took a few steps toward him and reached for the picture "How would you know if i...-"
"because i was the one who sent you this" he said referring to the picture "on the back, it showed instructions on which entrance of the park to enter from...the one you went in was the purple dragons territory.." Serene's ear twitched hearing that name
'those guys were purple dragons?' she thought as she glanced back at the beaten down men on the grass then back at the tiger "the one entrance with more people was the more safe main street..., you are either very brave or very stupid to come for a stranger" he interrupted and answered so matter a factly, he let go of the picture when her paw touched it Serene smiled mentally
'well that answers the part where that was him i was sensing...'
Serene put the picture into her pant pocket this time before looking up to meet his gold eyes "Well, i couldn't exactly walk around with tons of people, looking the way i am now...that was the reason why i went through the ally way it would annoy me if i heard them scream or being called freak or abomination...i wasn't trying to be brave either...i just wanted to put my nerves to rest and see this guy finally"
Tiger claw remained quiet as she continued "those guys almost jumping me was just my great luck" she looked up at him again, trying to not stare at this man tiger "I'm assuming that...you're--"
He simply nodded to her
Serene smiled just a bit 'So...your my guy' she thought
"hmp..it is strange...how you would know what i looked like, i mean i didn't have the chance to tell you i was...." she looked down, something about this guy seemed odd but than again...she shook it off and talked again "And i'm surprised your a mutant tiger but either way...its nice to meet you officially....."
"Does my appearance displease you?" he asked
Serene-put her hands up in defense- "huh? oh no, not at all...i actually think your...beautiful"
'and...so hot' she thought to herself
Tiger claw looked at one of his paws- "Beautiful?"
'I am anything but that'
"...um...I-I think you are but--" she stopped, just now realizing what he had said a few moments ago she looked away
"does my appearance displease you?"
she grew quiet, becoming quite embarrassed 'and i said no to him...but why would he ask that to me, in such a disappointed tone?'
her eyes shifted to him once more then he spoke again
"i am a monster...but hearing what you say about me is strange...and yet i am pleased to hear it" he said closing his eyes and smirking just a bit
"I..dont think you are a monster" she said as she felt her cheeks warm up, after that she couldn't find any other words to say...what could she say, when she knew she would be stuttering once she spoke?
~i think it was twice now at that moment i began to really like him more... it was something about him, in all honesty he was magnificent...i felt the urge to ask if i could see him again, but maybe that would be too much...wait...am i really crushing on him? ahh..maybe it was his voice....the way he talked...i don't know~
"Oh...you never told me your name..." she said in the same soft voice
"Call me Tiger claw"
"Tiger claw..hm" she had a disappointed face on, which he immediately noticed
"whats the matter?"
"Nothing...but is that your real name...?"
"No, it is an alias...i'll tell you someday...but not now" Serene could hear the firmness in his voice, but she chose to believe in his word, so she didn't bother trying to whine about it, they did just meet officially after all, but with them knowing each other through endless letters all those years back til now, she figured they weren't strangers..not too much. She shrugged her shoulders a little and sighed
'at least he is honest about it' Serene thought to herself, she really did admire him more because of his honesty
'Something people that are closest or are suppose to be to me seem to lack' she bitterly made fists with her paws, bearing a little bit of her sharp teeth, she looked down that ground as she spoke up again
"well alright, tell me when you feel safe" she finished by looking at him with a small smile
When their eyes met, he could see a tint of sadness in her piercing blue eyes, he felt guilty for a moment, as she continued to speak
"I have nothing to hide, so i'll tell you anything more you want to know..." a breeze picked up between them and it felt nice on her fur, but she froze up when she saw him uncross his arms and approach her
Tiger claw stopped one foot ahead of her and spoke in a smug voice "Really..."
Serene looked at him seeing his eyes glow just a bit "mmhmm"
'Those intense eyes'
she jumped a little when she felt his paw graze her cheek gently "It seemed you were unpleased by my answer...."
"It wasn't fully at you, I...just reminded myself of how it wasn't until now that honesty was never part of my life, meaning the way you said you would tell me your real name one day,...it assured me, nobody had ever done that with me, it was always no answer......." her voice as soft as a whisper once more as she stared up at him feeling her face become warm once again, not only that but she could feel her heart tighten up and her legs suddenly feeling like jelly.
Tiger claw already knew that she would be unhappy about his answer...it pained him to see her this way...but he just wanted to hear her say it through his ears instead of just seeing it on a paper...for all those years ago. Something about her and the way she was, drew him to her. ever since that fateful night, he felt it was his calling to protect her
