With foster children, there are a set of squiggly lines. A whole area of "maybe" that no one really seems to have the answer to. Some of them have horrible back stories and others just stayed for five minutes. Still, there were times when we felt more lost than usual. In a spectrum of sex and gender, there were questions and talks which we had to have answers to. Those talks were awkward and cold. Sometimes parenting was making sense of the borders.
