Have you ever been in love?
Have you ever been so happy,
Knowing that someone loves you,
That someone cares for you,
And knows you better than anyone else..
I have.
I've been in love so many times,
So many mistakes,
So many days,
Empty.
Alone.
I never realized what true love was like,
Or how it felt to be happy for so long.
I was always alone,
Writing books and stories,
All about love,
And how it felt to be happy.
But all of that changed,
Because there was this one girl,
I met in High School,
She was beautiful,
Everything about her was perfect.
She was the only girl for me.
I loved her so much,
But she didn't know who I was,
And I was just a stranger,
In a crowd of a million faces.
I tried everything to get her to know me,
I would always just sit there in class thinking about how beautiful she is,
But then one day,
She came up to me,
And said in a quiet voice,
"Do you want to go out?"
I never knew why she asked that,
Even till this day that made me wonder,
But I said yes.
Because a girl like this,
Was one in a million.
This girl was beautiful,
She had the stars in her smile,
And the galaxy in her eyes.
I know that we're only in 11th grade,
But this girl made my life worth living,
And that's why I love her so much.
I've spent days, weeks,
Laughing with her,
Enjoying life,
Being happy..
I was happy,
And so was she,
She loved me and I loved her.
I knew that I couldn't live without her,
Because she was the only thing in my life,
That made it worth living..
We spent month together,
I think we lasted 16 months together,
16 months of being with her,
16 months of loving her,
But 16 months was nothing,
Because I would rather spend a lifetime loving her,
Than only spend 100 years knowing that a love like this could end.
We graduated High School,
Got married and bought an apartment in the city where we could spend our lives.
I knew it was to early to get married,
But it was worth it,
Because realizing that I was going to spend my whole life with her,
Made me the happiest man alive.
Our lives were perfect.
No matter what would happen,
I would still have her,
And she would still have me.
A couple months later she was pregnant,
We were so happy,
About to have a kid around,
Laughing and being happy.
I was the happiest.
Mostly because I was having a child with the girl as amazing as my wife.
Weeks pasts by and It turns out that it was girl.
I had a baby girl.
The happiest moment in life,
Was holding the baby in my arms and looking into wife's eye
And as I held the baby,
The doctor asked me for the name of the baby,
I then said in a quiet voice,
"Violet."
"Her name is Violet."
Years went by,
And when Violet was 3 years old..
Her mother,
The woman I love,
Said that she has cancer,
And that she only has a couple weeks to live.
Violet didn't know what she was talking about,
But Violet then ran up to her mom screaming in a little kid voice,
"I love you mommy!"
Violet then hugged her, laughing and being happy
Weeks past,
And my wife was getting sicker,
Weaker,
As I stood here in the hospital room,
Violet was outside playing with the dolls with the other kids.
My wife then told me to come closer,
She then said in a weak voice,
"When I'm gone, take care of Violet."
I then said in a quiet voice,
"Please don't go,"
"Please, don't leave me."
I then held her hand saying,
"Don't go, Don't go!"
Over and over again,
She then just took in a deep breath,
And closed her eyes.
My wife died at the age of 27,
The love of my life,
Died.
Violet then came in the room screaming,
"Daddy I made you a present!"
She then gave me a necklace she made out of cheerios.
I then hugged her and started to cry.
Because as you can tell,
Violet, my daughter was the only thing I had left.
I then said "Thank you for your time,"
And walked off of the podium,
Because as you can tell I was at my wife's funeral.
When the funeral ended,
I when to her tombstone,
And placed the necklace that Violet made me on her tombstone.
I then whispered in a tired voice,
"I love you, and I know your looking down at Violet and smiling because our daughter was the greatest thing that has ever happened to us."
I then walked away,
Holding Violet's hand.
Violet then said to me,
"I love you daddy."
