"Go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer"

Raven was tired of hearing Tina scold Newt, and was about to tell her to lay off when they walked onto the muggle's street. Her hand went to her mouth as she let out a gasp at the damage that lay around the house. The walls had fallen apart, leaving debris scattered on the street. Smoke wafted out of where the wall once was and an angry mob had formed in front of a police officer.

"It's another gas leak! I won't bring the children up there again unless you get it sorted!" An angry mother complained to the police officer. Newt whipped out his wand and cast a spell on one of the mob leaders, before running inside the building.

"Newt!" Raven cried, chasing into the house after him, while Tina was distracted by a creature that Raven recognised as a billywig. She followed Newt up the stairs and into the small apartment of a muggle. He was lying on the floor, and Raven ran to attend to him while Newt fixed the damaged building.

"Are you okay, sir?" She asked, helping him up into a sitting position, "Oh, your neck is bleeding! You're hurt! Wake up, sir!" She pulled out her wand, "Augamenti!" She muttered and water flew from her wand, splashing in the face of the muggle. Suddenly, a creature jumped out from behind the man. Raven yelped, falling back. Newt caught the creature, safely securing it in his case. He then pulled out his wand, pointing it at the muggle.

"You can't wipe his memory, now!" Tina yelled, entering the room.

"I'm sorry- you yelled at me the length of New York for not doing it in the first place..." Newt looked at Tina confused.

"He's hurt," Raven says, looking up at the two, "He looks ill."

"He'll be fine. Murtlap bites aren't that serious." Newt said, "I admit this is a slightly more severe reaction than I have seen but if it were really serious he'd have, well the first symptom would be flames out of his anus." The muggle's face turned incredibly white and he looked sicker than he did before. "It will wear off at 48 hours at most, I, uh, can keep him if you want me too."

"We cannot keep them, Mister Scamander. Do you know anything about the wizarding community in America?" Tina asked, baffled.

"I do know a few things actually. I know you have rather backwards laws about relations with non-magic people. That you're not meant to befriend them and you can't marry, which seems mildly absurd to me." Newt said, causing Raven to chuckle.

"I said the exact same thing when I moved here." She said, before attempting to help the muggle up.

"Who's going to marry him? You are coming with me!" Tina said, before going to help Raven carry the muggle. "Help me!" She said angrily to Newt, who took the other arm with Raven.

"I've got this Raven, but could you carry my case?" She nodded at him, letting go of the muggle's arm and grabbing his case.

"I'm dreaming right? I'm tired, I never went to the bank... this is a big nightmare, right?'

"For the both of us, Mister Kowalski." Tina exclaimed as she disapparated, Newt grabbing onto Raven at the last second.

Raven had the plan to bring the group back to their, Tina and hers, house. Tina was hesitant about the idea because in meant bringing the men around her sister, Queenie. Raven had reassured her that Queenie would be alright and that she worked with men every day so it wouldn't be her meeting men for the first time.

"Okay, before we go in, we're not supposed to have men on the premises," Raven said, looking back at the group.

"In that case, Mr. Kowalski and I can easily seek other accommodation-" Newt said, going to leave with Mr. Kowalski.

"No, because, to my knowledge, I am the only one out of us who has formal medical training, I would like to keep my patient, Mr. Kowalski, in my care. Now come on, but be quiet." They entered the building and started tip-toeing up the stairs towards the apartment. Suddenly a voice called out.

"That you, Tina?" A woman's voice rang out, "Raven?"

"Yes, Mrs. Esposito," Tina and Raven called back at the same time.

"Are you two alone?"

"We're always alone, Mrs. Esposito!" They said again, continuing on their way to the door. Once they reached it, Tina swung the door open and hurried them all inside. Instantly, Raven spotted Queenie in the corner, tending to a dress. She smiled happily at her roommate and sister before she spotted the two men.

"Raven, Teenie, you've brought men home?" Queenie said excitedly.

"This is my sister, Queenie." Tina introduced, "You want to put something on, Queenie?" Tina suggested, not liking how Mr. Kowalski was staring at her sister when she was only wearing a slip dress. Queenie nodded, pulling out her wand. Mr. Kowalski watched, entranced, as the dress floated up from the mannequin and landed on her figure.

"So, who are your friends?" Queenie smiles to the two.

"This is Mister Scamander," Tina introduces, "He's lost something and I'm going to help him find it. And that's Mister Kowalski; he's a No-Maj."

"A No-Maj?" Queenie's smiling face turns to one of worry, "Teenie, what are you up to?"

"He's sick, Queenie," Raven calms her friend, "I'm going to help heal him." Before Queenie can ask any more questions, Mr. Kowalski staggers and falls back onto the couch, sweat dripping from his face. Raven is quick to grab a towel and starts moping his brow.

"You need to sit down, honey," Queenie walked over to the man. "Hey... he hasn't eaten all day... and... aw that's rough. He didn't get the money for his bakery. You bake honey? I love to cook." She grinned at the man.

"You're a Legilimens?" Newt asked, intrigued, finally turning from the window he has been worryingly looking out.

"Uh-huh, yeah. But I always have trouble with your kind." Queenie said with a smile, "Brits, it's the accents." He nodded at her before turning back to the window. Trusting Mr. Kowalski in Queenie's care, Raven walked over to Newt.

"Hey," She alerted him off her presence, "Don't worry, we'll find your creatures." He looked back at her and she rested a hand on his arm. "I promise to do everything in my power to get your creatures back."

"Thank you, Raven." Newt smiled at her, placing his hand on top of hers, "It worries me that they're not safe." He walked away from the window, him still holding her hand, and headed for the door.

"Do you like strudel or pie, Mister Scamander?" Queenie asked, wand in hand.

"I don't really have a preference," Newt replied, taking his hand off the door knob.

"You like strudel, don't you honey?" Queenie had turned to Mr. Kowalski, who nodded in response. She smiled back at him and waved her wand, and the apple, pastry, sugar and almonds configured into the desert in the air, landing on the table. Newt still remained at the door and Raven gently tugged his hand towards the table.

"Come on, just stay for dinner." She said, gently pulling him over to the table. He let out a sigh, before reluctantly following her to the table. "So, what house were you in, Newt?" He looked to her surprised at the question.

"Uh, Hufflepuff. Which house were you in, Raven?" She smiled at him.

"Gryffindor, though it makes sense you're a Hufflepuff." Raven went to continue when a clasp of Newt's case flipped open. He was quick to lock it again, and looked back up to the red head girl.

"It does?"

"Because you are braver than any other witch or wizard because you care enough for your passion that you are not afraid of dangerous creatures." She smiled at him before starting to eat her meal.

About half an hour later, they were all still sitting at the table. Queenie talked with Jacob and Raven while Newt and Tina looked rather bored.

"We're orphans. Ma and Pa died of dragon pox when we were kids." Queenie responded to a question Mr. Kowalski had asked in his mind. "Raven ran away from her home when she was 15 because-" She was cut off when Raven stood up abruptly.

"Queenie." She said coldly, a drastic change from what Newt had heard earlier in the day. "That's my business and I don't need you broadcasting it whenever someone you like asks." Raven stormed out of the room afterwards. Queenie's smile fell from her face, and she looked over to Tina.

"I'm going to go check up on her." Tina said, looking at the group. Newt wanted to go help, but he knew it wasn't his place. Suddenly, Mr. Kowalski turned quite white again.

"Oh are you alright, honey?" Queenie asked leaning forward.

"Miss Goldstein, I think that we could all do with an early night, Besides, we need to all go looking for my creatures tomorrow." Newt said, standing up from his chair and helping Mr. Kowalski.

"You guys can bunk in Raven's room." Queenie said, showing them the way. "I supposed she'd like to keep an eye on her patient." She entered the room to see Tina and Raven sitting on one the beds, tear tracks streaking down her face. Raven quickly wiped her face as Newt and Mr. Kowalski walked into the room. Mr. Kowalski waved at the red head before climbing into her spare bed while Newt just stood by the door awkwardly by the door. Tina had left with Queenie to go get some hot drinks for the three.

"Oh, I can take the floor." Raven suggested, getting up from her bed.

"No, no, that's your bed." Newt said.

"Don't be ridiculous. We can both share the bed." Raven said, getting her pyjamas out of her closet while Mr. Kowalski took one of her books from the shelves. "I'll be back in a moment." She said walking out of the door to change. Mr. Kowalski put down his book and looked over to Newt, who was climbing into the bed.

"You like her, don't you?" Newt turned bright red at the question, looking over to the baker.

"Um... noooo?" Mr. Kowalski just sent him a look causing Newt to pull the covers up over his head. The door slid open again, and Mr. Kowalski picked up the book, pretending nothing had happened. Newt peaked out over the covers to be star-struck. Raven was wearing a light blue silk slip dress, her red hair clashing against the blue. She smiled at Newt, getting into the bed. He could only hope that she didn't notice how red his face had gotten.

"Hey," She whispered, turning to face him.

"Hi," Newt tried to keep his voice as steady as he could. Raven went to say something else, but was interrupted by her door sliding open again. Tina stood awkwardly in the door way, holding a tray with three cups of hot cocoa on it. She walked over to Raven's bedside table, placing the drinks down there.

"The toilets are down the hall, to the right." Tina said before leaving, shutting the door behind her. Raven instantly sat up, grabbing her hot cocoa. Queenie definitely knew her weakness.

"Mister Scamander, look hot cocoa." Mr. Kowalski said, also grabbing his hot drink. Newt still remained still, trying to look anywhere except for Raven. The light went off from outside and in one swift move; Newt got off the bed and opened his suitcase.

"Follow me." He said allowing himself to look at Raven, before opening his case and climbing down inside. He let out a sigh of relief when he was in his case, hopefully his face would turn back to normal before Raven came down. Raven looked over to Mr. Kowalski, placing her hot cocoa on the table.

"Aren't you coming?" She grinned cheekily at him before climbing into the darkness of the case.
