Chapter 2:

"Why is that so hard for everyone to believe? I am a girl so what! Just because I'm a girl, it doesn't make anything different. I'm still a human being!" The three guys were all so confused and just bluntly stared at me, not bothering to hide it at all. Oh, I give up!

"Wait, I've been calling you a guy all this time? Damn it, how could I not tell that you were a girl?" Sam basically screamed at me. Jeez, crazy much? He is so fucking loud he's worse than a fucking banshee!

"Please, it's not really that hard, all you had to do was look at the jeans, because I don't think a guy would be able to fit into these things, unless they had like girl's legs, then they might fit but just because you can't see my face or hear my voice most of the time and not be able to see my body, doesn't mean I'm a guy, you're all bloody Neanderthals, except maybe Felix, cause he actually knew I was a girl." And I was getting off track, my gender is not important! "But— my gender doesn't really matter right now because we are meant to be trying to win a 'race', but now that you all know who I am, I guess I can take this stupid hoodie off," to be honest I was getting quite hot so I didn't care as unzipped the jumper and tied it around my waist. I saw all of the boys staring at me. I shook my head at them, annoyed as all hell,

"What?" I growled at them and they all snapped out of whatever they were in and went on walking.

Not too long after we continued walking, Jake groaned when we reached a dead end. I turned to look at Felix and I saw he slightly released his grip on the paper but it wasn't enough, I nudged him and he let go of the paper fully and the wind picked it up, sending it over the edge, all of the boys freaked out and went tumbling down the cliff side trying to get to it, umm— awkward. Was that supposed to happen?

I watched as if flew back up to the top while the boys were stuck at the bottom, I didn't want to be stuck at the top by myself plus I needed to stay with the guys and I didn't really want to get messy, so next thing I know, I'm standing up at the bottom of the cliff, no dirt on me at all.

There's this thing I can do. An ability that my Mum hates and she says she wishes I didn't have. It's called a glitch, and it means I have the ability to be one place one second, and another the next, but I can't go huge distances or take anyone with me, I tried it once and I collapsed and passed out. I was asleep for a week.

All the boys recover from their fall and looked up to see me standing there without a single scratch on my body. When they finally stopped staring they stood up and dusted themselves off, while I just stood there smiling at them, I don't really know why I was smiling. Of course Jake took the lead again,

"Come on we've got to find a way out of here," everyone nodded in agreement, I rolled my eyes, they're not going to find a way out of here. Well, not until tomorrow that is, but that's just because of a certain someone. I hate my visions sometimes! They only show me certain things and I do know one thing. We are spending the bloody night in this god forsaken bush!

We kept on walking around looking for a way out of the cliff's drop off thing. We've been walking for hours and it wasn't funny I was getting annoyed and I was dead tired, plus the storm that had formed a few hours ago, was getting bigger and to add onto that, from the looks of things, there was no way of getting out of here. So how will we get out in the morning? Well for them there isn't. For me there is, but I need to be here for some reason, the boys were getting restless, and loud.

Eventually, we decided to camp down for the night since it was getting late and nearly all sunlight was gone. We found a shelter of some sort by pulling tree branches and moving them so that they held together and didn't move, and then we started a fire, by using Felix's lighter. Why the hell does he have a lighter? It was finally night time and Andy was complaining about how he wouldn't be so cold if he had a poncho. Stupid Jake and stupid Andy for that matter! These boys are going to be the death of me! That's if I don't kill them first!

I looked at all the boys who look really tired and when I turned to look at Sam who was saying he could eat anything right now, whatever, I had my food in my bag, I hadn't touched them at all and grabbed out two granola bars for us all, Sam was the first to notice and almost screamed out,

"FOOD, WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU GET IT OUT EARLIER, I'VE BEEN STARVING FOR AGES!" Nothing came out of the others and me, so I grabbed a sandwich out for all of us each. We all ate slowly, savouring the food and making it go as long as possible since we don't know where we were getting our next meal from.

It began to rain and I knew what was next. I turned to look at Felix, who was sitting next to me, and I nudged him. He looked at me confused and I diverted my eyes to his bag that was sitting next to his feet. He must have understood what I meant and went to his bag. He needs to read that note, no matter what's on it.

Felix's P.O.V

Blake kept on telling me to go into my bag, but there shouldn't be anything weird in there, right? When I opened my bag, I saw a note in there, I pulled it out and it read

'Felix, when you read this, get your phone out and play your spell, don't question this letter, just do as I say, otherwise it will be too different, make it look like you were going through your bag to look for your phone, the realize it's in your pocket, throw the paper away, when no one's looking. DO IT NOW!

B A W'

Crap, I better do as the letter says, otherwise, I'll be in some shit, and I 'looked' for my phone and did as she asked. When the others were arguing with each other, I threw the letter into the fire. I saw Blake nod out of the corner of my eye; I didn't want to know how she knew I turned one of my 'spells' into a song. So I had this little diary. It wasn't a diary, but I treated it like one, no one was allowed to look in it since it had private stuff in it, and I kept it close to me at all times. It was actually a book of shadows, but I'm not a real witch, I just do everything Goths do. I pulled my phone out of my pocket as the rain came down harder and asked everyone,

"Well this is gloomy, who wants to hear some music to cheer them up?" the guys just shrugged and Blake just smiled, it was kinda scary, but perfect at the same time, her teeth were completely white, contrasting against her blue lips, and they were all straight and in order, it made it look like she had braces, but if the rest of her is perfection then she mustn't have had braces. I turned away from her blushing, weird— but I turned my music on,

'WATER, FIRE, EARTH AND AIR,

WATER, FIRE, EARTH AND AIR,

ARE THE ELEMENTS WE ALL SHARE,

ARE THE ELEMENTS WE ALL SHARE,

WATER WASH OUR SINS AWAY,

EARTH GUIDE US TO OUR PLACE,

WIND BRINGS WITH IT FEAR,

FLAMES OF FIRE WE MUST FACE,

WALK UPON THIS EARTH AGAIN,

WALK UPON THIS EARTH AGAIN!' I was mouthing along to the lyrics, and by the looks of it, so was Blake. But how could she know my song? But my question is how did she know it was a spell in the first place, and how did she know I existed? The song turned off, and the rain washed out the fire, us all now being thrown into both darkness, and coldness. Andy commented,

"That was supposed to cheerful?" Both Blake and I made a face at him. He jumped back a bit, but I think it was because of Blake's face, she can look pretty scary sometimes, and I've only known her a day, not even.

"Let's call it a night guys, there's nothing we can do until tomorrow," Sam declared, finally something smart actually came out of his mouth. We all agreed and lay down, Blake laid down right next to me, she was actually surprisingly warm, and she didn't even have her jumper on or anything.

Just before I was asleep I felt Blake sit up and throw something onto my lap. I sat up and saw it was her jacket. I nodded my head silently thanking her; I watched as she shoved her bag in a little hole, hmm, must be to hide it from animals that mean Sam, dirty little pig. Then she lay back down next to me spreading the jacket that was around her waist over the both of us. She put her head up to my ear and whispered a few words before lying back down and going to sleep.

Whoa was all I could say. I never thought those few words would change my world. She just seemed so normal; I never actually could think that she was part Wiccan. How could she be part witch if she's never actually shown any real powers? Well, she did manage to get down the cliff without getting dirty or falling. And she did make the wind happen when she nudged me, but I don't think that was her. I think it was just a dream time story spell. But maybe this is actual magic. I give up, it doesn't matter, and we'll be home tomorrow. But I really don't want now to end, because, after this, I may never see Blake again, I may not know her very well, but she must trust me enough to tell me her secret. And believe it or not, I feel like I love her. And on that thought, I fall asleep.

*Several months earlier*

Jake's P.O.V

I slowly counted as I finished my sit ups. They were part of my morning warm up before a footy match. Once I had finished them, I moved onto hand weights. These were harder than the sit up and wore me out quicker. I huffed and puffed while I was doing them.

I was finished with them quicker than the sit ups though, so I walked out of my small room, all it consisted of was a double bed, a built in wardrobe and a bed side table. I had all my footy gear sitting on my bed waiting for when my Dad, Gary showed up to take me to my footy game. That's if he shows up— stupid jerk. No, I shouldn't be saying that, this guy is my father.

I went into our kitchen slash dining room. We had small house and it only had one bedroom, and Mum gave it to me, so she sleeps on the couch whenever she does sleep. I tell her she needs to sleep more, but she never listens. She is trying too hard to give me a better life, but what she doesn't understand is that I don't care, I'm fine the way we are, I just want her to stop over working herself.

I go over to the ironing board, and ironing my Mum, Sarah, a new cover for one of her jobs. She works two jobs, and only just covers the rent. Dad doesn't bother to do anything with his life. He's like the world biggest loser, and not as in fat— as in loser. And he thinks it is fine to borrow money off of people, and never give it back.

I walked back into the more kitchen part of the room and started to make Mum some breakfast, her favourite, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Or a BLT if you want to be smart— it's the least I can do for her in the mornings. I'm not normally nice to people, just my Mum, my Dad is too much of a deadbeat for me to really have much care towards him. Mum works so hard for me. And there is barely anything I can do for her in return.

So this is what I do. I do things for her in the morning that make sure she is taking care of herself, which is making her food and letting her sleep as much as possible, and have her not worry about her work gear.

I sat the BLT on a plate nicely, and walked into the lounge where Mum was asleep on the couch. She looked so beat, sometimes I just never want her to wake up, so she can have a nice long break and not have to worry so much, or at least for her to give up one of her shifts.

I gently nudge her on the shoulder making her come around from her much needed sleep. Fuck she looked wreaked after this last shift. She turned her head and looked me for a quick second before returning to her previous position,

"Hmm, Jakie, I couldn't keep my eyes open," I smiled and moved the plate towards her, hoping to entice her to get up and eat, as much as I wanted her to continue sleeping.

"I made you your favourite—" Mum turned to look at me with her eyes open, looking both tired and worried, "—Bacon, lettuce and tomato," she reached her hand up grabbed the plate, sitting up. As she was moving to sit up she asked me,

"Won't you be late?" I knew she was talking about my footy game, I normally walk but—

"No, Dad called. He's going to drive me to the game," Mum looked at me with narrowed eyes messing about but her initial worry was still there. I know I shouldn't really trust Dad to take me to my game, but he promised he would this time. I smiled at Mum,

"Really," Mum finished sitting up and looked at me. While she was looking at me, I pointed behind me to show her the uniform I ironed,

"I ironed a fresh uniform for you," Mum put her plate down on the bench in front of us, coming over to me. She grabbed my head and gave me a kiss on the temple,

"Mm, you are my rock," smiling as she pulled away. There was something I had to tell her,

"Can't you just give up one of those shifts? I mean you look so wrecked," she sighed,

"Oh Jakie, I just want to get us out of this house— get us into a proper place you know? Something big—" She was eating her food as she talked,

"—Get us a car to hoon around in, hmm? Hey?" I smiled as she rubbed my back and pulled me into a hug, sighing. I wasn't going to get her to cave in goddamn it. Please Mum, just rest! I smiled slightly at her words.

"I am so lucky to have you," I smiled a bit more, hugging her back. When she's like this, she loves me even more. She is always grateful for the things that I do, it makes me feel like a better human being instead of the bully I am seen as at school.

"We're both lucky Mum," I stated, it was true. I don't know what I would do if I were to live with Dad full time. I hated it there, but Mum doesn't know that, I just tell her that the stay is fine. We only got to have a quick hug as someone knocked on the front door. Mum and I separated and I got up to go and answer the door.

When I got there, I saw a huffing and puffing Dad standing on the other side of the wire door, knocking again. I went across after getting my footy bag off my bed. I went over to the door opening it, moving past Dad to get to the car. But he stopped me,

"Jake, Son— geez, you look well," I stared at him wondering why he looked to sweaty, I replied shortly with,

"Yeah— you too," I didn't really mean it but I couldn't be bothered doing anything right now. I continued to walk past him, and he just kept on talking,

"Hang on a sec, is your Mum home?" and he didn't even wait for an answer. He just wiped his feet on the doormat and walked in calling out,

"SARAH?" I was confused. What the hell does that guy think he's doing?! I need to get to my footy game!

"Um yeah—" and he just kept on walking— I looked around outside and didn't see the car— just a bike. What on earth? I walked back in to see 'Gary' asking Mum if he could 'borrow' some money, I scoffed and called out,

"DAD?!" he turned to face me, "Where's the car?" he looked a bit annoyed at the question. He came away from Mum and closer to the front door,

"Oh, umm— yeah mate, a bit of trouble on the home front. Long story short, no car this week, got the trusty bike though," I leaned on the door frame,

"You were gonna drive me to the game remember?" now I was pissed. I could tell by his face he forgot,

"Every time, I'm such an idiot," I pushed off of the door frame and into the house; I shoved past him so I could see Mum,

"Don't give him a cent," and with that, I left the room, really pissed. Gary kept on saying things to get me to stop but it didn't work— I needed to get to the bloody footy field, on the other side of town. I'm going to hurt him!

*Now*

Blake's P.O.V

"Mm," I finally came around from my sleep; which was actually surprisingly comfortable. Way more comfortable than my bed— and so that means— I'm not in my bed. My eyes opened and I launched up sitting up off the ground, not being able to stand up because something was holding me down.

I furrowed my brows and looked down beside me to see a gothic boy laying there next to me, asleep. Felix? I thought. His arm was wrapped around my waist holding me down, and I don't know how it happened. I remember going to sleep next to Felix, but we were lying next to each other, not— cuddling.

I didn't want to wake him, so I laid back down into his warm arms and tried to fall asleep again, but was interrupted but slurping. Umm what— the— fuck? This time all of us woke up. I didn't want to get up, but I opened my eyes anyway to see Felix staring at my face, just inches away. I instantly blushed wanting to look away but I couldn't break eye contact with him,

"What?" I asked him and he shook his head, suddenly moving and sat the both of us up. We then looked away from each other and turned to see Sam eating pawpaw cream— gross! What the hell! Why would he eat that?! Everyone was soon awake and staring at Sam, who didn't seem weirded out at the fact he was eating pawpaw cream. Andy stared at him the longest and spoke to him first.

"Sam, what you're doing?" Sam blinked and ceased his eating to turn and stare at Andy, a weird smile on his face.

"Eating pawpaw, it's a fruit right?" Andy was really grossed out, along with the rest of us. Jake's face remained the same but the disgust was visible in his eyes. Andy then continued talking to Sam and I really wished he would stop. I already had to put up with his talking last night.

"It's for itchy crotch," When Sam heard Andy's words, he started choking and coughing on his own spit and some of the pawpaw. I started laughing at him but at the same time, was majorly grossed out and wanted to spew. To stop myself from feeling sick, I began talking.

"Jeez Sam, how could you be so stupid, why would you eat pawpaw?" he stopped choking long enough to say,

"Well, its pawpaw, why wouldn't I eat it?" I gagged and covered my mouth with my hand, seriously scared I was going to spew. I knew Sam was stupid— I just didn't know he was this stupid.

"Come on guys—" Jake hesitated as he began talking to the guys, forgetting I was there, "And girl—" never mind, "We better be getting back home," At least someone here was being smart, nice one Jake. For a jock, I guess he had a pretty good IQ and seemed like a nice guy in moments like this— never mind, I only just met the guy!

We all agreed to Jake's words and stood up to leave. I grabbed my bag from where I buried it and gave everyone another sandwich each; goddamn it; now I was all out of sandwiches. And they were my favourite. Now I'm sad. Sam ate his so quickly it looked like he never had one. I gave him a bar and pushed him onwards, I walked next to Felix, who was walking at the back, and we kept walking till we came to a path clearing,

"Hmm, maybe if we follow this it will take us home, how about it guys?" I said and they were all about to say something when the sky opened up, but it didn't rain. A tornado came down, and it was heading straight for us. Jake freaked first, then me following. THIS ISN'T NORMAL! I cried in my head and turned to Felix who was just staring at it.

"RUN, EVERYONE RUN!" Jake screamed and we all agreed again and ran for our freaking lives. We ended up going back through trees and bushes, getting even more lost than we were. Fucking hell, I just wanted to get home! Now I was being chased by a tornado through the forest! This is not my day!

"FASTER NERDS, FASTER," Jake shouted, seeming the most scared out of all of us, but since no one else had talked, I can't say anything. But far out, even though we were being attacked he still treated us like, well, dirt. But for some reason, we did what he said anyway.

"IN HERE!" Sam yelled at us, there was a small path that was too small for the tornado to fit through.

We kept running until, we ran into a camp. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS PLACE?! Why is there a camp site here! As I was thinking, I didn't see the Man that came running at us with a stick that had a knobby end. All six of us screamed, at each other— when we stopped screaming the Man we ran into asked,

"What are you doing here? Why are you attacking me?" Andy commented in return to the man, confused as all hell,

"Wait, you're the one attacking us aren't you?" the Man looked confused, and lowered his weapon when he noticed we were all unarmed.

"No I wasn't. But if you aren't attacking me, then what are you running for?" Felix spoke next,

"It was like, a tornado but bigger, and way meaner, and it was following us," the Man looked behind us and all around, not believing our story, but not completely disagreeing with us.

"I don't see anything there, but—" but Sam cut him off by yelling 'FOOD' and the Man rolled his eyes and said,

"Yeah just have what you want, it's not like it matters. Henrietta's have laid plenty more eggs." We all looked up to see Sam eat all of the scrambled eggs in the tray; this pissed Jake off the most,

"Yeah, just don't worry about us, you eat up. We don't matter at all," man was he being sarcastic, but I guess I would be too so I can't say anything. Sam frowned at us sadly, possibly regretting what he did, but I don't think that was the case.

"Sorry, but I was literally starving to death," I rolled my eyes at his stupidity.

"You said that last time you dickhead. And I quote Andy, Do you even know what literally means?" he nodded and looked away in defeat.

"By the way— the name's Roland." We all nodded at him and stood there awkwardly while he walked off.

Unannounced, we all decided to wander around looking at the different things around the campsite. I stood still with Felix, while Jake went over to annoy Sam about the food and Andy went over to the solar powered car and asked Roland about it.

"Where did you get such good solar panels?" Roland stuttered out,

"I-I-I-I salvaged them, Fr-from a junkyard," liar, pfft as if anyone would believe that,

"Wow," damn it, I spoke too soon, stupid Andy. Jake spoke up again, directing his words to Roland, a slight cheer in his voice.

"Hey, do you think you could give us directions to Bremin?" Roland laughed happily,

"I can do one better, I'll take you there myself," all the boys smiled. I would have too, but I realized something and stopped their parade,

"We won't all fit into the car, there six of us and five seats, and there's no way I'm travelling in the boot," the boys all frowned except Sam, who was wearing a cheeky little smirk,

"Why do you just sit on Felix's lap, it looked like you guys were pretty close this morning while you were asleep," I shut up instantly,

Nothing came out of the boys mouths while Felix and I blushed. Jake had a weird face and said,

"You guys slept together?" Felix's eyes widened and I blushed even harder at the accusation,

"What no, we didn't— oh she did sleep next to me, but that was it," Sam rolled his eyes,

"Your arms were around her when you both woke up, you made it seem like the pair of you were in a relationship. So sweet," he made a kissy face and walked off towards the car, Felix and I looked at each other, and blushed.

Nothing came out of Jake and Andy. I looked away from Felix, pulling my jumper back on and headed towards the car as well,

"Come on boys, if you want to get home. There can't be any more damage done. Let's go, because I really don't want to be stuck in a car with Sam longer than I have to," I was standing at the open door, as all the other boys ran and hopped in.
