Chapter 15

Riley's POV:

Giles announces it is time for the riddle. I stand side by side with James and Michelle.

I run around the entire house by my self looking for a clue. That's when I run straight into Daniel. Literally, I bonk right into him and start to fall over.

I'm sure I'm gonna fall on my face, when arm wrap around my waist pulling me up. It's Daniel!

"Thanks" I blush. I always blush when these things happen...

"No problem and sorry for running into you" he tells me.

"It's fine. I ran into you anyway" I smile. He smiles back.

He realizes I'm still in his arms (before I realize it myself) and he unhands me.

"Sorry" he mumbles.

"Don't be" I say.

He smiles. "So um..." he says. "Th-the riddle" he says looking into my eyes.

I bite my lip and nod. Then, we take off on our opposite ways.


Daniels POV:

When I saw Riley falling because she had run into me I couldn't just let her fall on her face! So I grabbed her to make her not fall.

Now I'm running to find the library. Giles said something about a place where you find information so I thought books. Library.


James's POV:

I was walking by the railing looking for a clue when I hear a small yelp from downstairs. I look over he railing to see Riley falling, then Daniel quickly grab her. In his arms! And didn't let her go for like 2 minutes! And Riley was SMILING!

I really want to know if something's going on. I mean I know there isn't anything GOING ON, but the way he looked at her...I might just be being paranoid.

I quickly run downstairs to find Riley.

I see her and I stop her from running. "Hey!" I say.

"Hey" she says. "What are you doing?"

"Um nothing. So where were you...two minutes and 34 seconds ago?" I ask. I'm estimating okay...

"Umm...I don't know. In some hallway. Why?" She asks innocently.

I laugh. She giggles. "What?" She asks.

"Oh nothing" I sigh in a laugh.

She smiles at me. I look her in the eye. "We should really get back to that rid-"

And she just kisses me. Her arms around my neck and mine around her waist.

Why do we always kiss during riddles?

I guess I was just being paranoid. I love Riley and she loves me. Nobody can stop that.


Emily's POV:

I run down to the library. I try to open the door. What the fuck it's locked.

Ugh!! I KNOW the answers in here! I start pounding on the door.

All of a sudden I see Michelle walk out with a satisfied look on her face.

I walk into to the library to see if any things left. Nothing! Unbelievable! If I'm scared again-

The estate bell chimes.


Michelle's POV:

I knew the clue would be in the library because Giles said an informational room. I only realized that a couple minutes ago. I took off straight for the library praying I would be the first to get there.

I was. I ran inside and locked the door, just in case. Then I looked around. I seen a safe. I used the code 123456 that Giles had given us. And there it was. The answer.

It had some plans on it. The most important thing on it was the word Cyanide.

I remember from school we learned that cyanide was a poisonous gas. The most deadliest toxin in the world. That must have killed Chloe.

I run to find Riley and James who are sitting on the piano bench.

"Guys I solved the riddle!" I say now that we're a team again.

"Yay!" Riley says jumping up to hug me.


West's POV:

Daniel, Giselle and I sit at a table in the living room.

"She died of blood loss." I state. Daniel gives me a look.

"There were like...four tiny specks of blood on the cabinets. She couldn't have died from that." Daniel tells me.

"Right, right." I say. "A heart attack!" I exclaim. Riley and Michelle turn to look at me.

"She could have had a heart attack" I whisper.

Daniel shakes his head.

"Actually that could be true," Giselle says. "Her face was all red and her hands were blotchy" she says.

"See" I say.

Daniel shakes his head once again. "I doubt it" he says.

"Come on Daniel" Giselle says.

"How?" He asks.

"From seeing the mountain lion! She could have been so scared!" I answer. Daniel just rolls his eyes.


Stephanie's POV:

"Ugh," Emily says. "Now we're all gonna die"

"Not necessarily" I mumble.

"What?" Emily asks.

I think for a split second. "Michelle likes you so couldn't you just get the information?" I ask turning to Eldon.

He gives me a warning look. Then I realize what he means. Emily is staring at us wide eyed and an eye brow raised.

"Good job" Eldon mutters to me under his breath.

I just roll my eyes at him.

"Excuse me?" Emily asks.

"Umm..." Eldon says.

"Michelle likes Eldon, but don't worry eldon doesn't like her back" I explain with a lie.

"Oh" Emily says less tense.

Eldon so owes me right now.


Eldons POV:

I so owe Steph right now.

She didn't have to back me up. I was rude to her.

But I still don't know how to ask Michelle for information...I mean i do like her...it's just that-

"Okay so go ask" Stephanie tells me.

"I don't think that's the best idea" I whisper.

"Why not?"

"Just."

"Do you want us to die?" She asks me. Ugh.

"No" I mutter standing up.

I walk over to Michelle, Riley and James.

"Hey Michelle can I take to you?" I ask.

"Sure!" She smiles. I take her over to the stair case. "What is it?" She asks.

"Um well I was wondering if..." I say but trail off. How am I supposed to ask her this without sounding like that's all I want from her?

She sighs. "You want information." She says. I nod. "Well I'm sorry I can't tell you. I mean I'm really really sorry" she says.

My facial expression falls. "Why not?"

"Because Riley and James are on my team. You're on...Emily and Stephanie's team" she says.

She must think I still like Emily!

I open my mouth to speak but she talks first.

"Sorry" she says walking away.
