[WARNING: THIS CHAPTER IS KINDA SHORT(if compared to the previous one. Sowwwwiieee! *pouts*)]

Did he just hear her say baby?
Did she just call him baby?

He was ready to be her anything, as long as it made her happy.

"Manik?"
Her voice brought him back to reality.

He jerked out of his dream land. He was leaning in front of her. He caught himself staring at her like a freak. Her face was blank, a questioning look painted across her face. Her hazel eyes searching his face for an answer to his sudden silence in confusion, her cute nose, her full, pink, soft lips.

It was a dream. Nope. A day-dream. Damn it!

The Manik Malhotra has officially lost it, standing in his office in front of this girl, not working but day dreaming and fantasizing about kissing her.

She didn't really call him baby, did she?

Gosh! Why did it have to be a dream? Why couldn't it be real, just for once?
(please don't kill me for this🙈)

His eyes traveled to his lips, not meeting her eyes, still leaning in front of her, his hands on either side of her body on the table. Nandini's folded legs slowly unfolded as she slipped to her feet, still searching his face.

Her lips, are they holding the same sweetness in reality? Will they taste the same in reality? Will they mold just as perfectly as they did in his dream? Will they be just as perfect as they were?

He bit his own lip, trying to get the feeling back to his lips.

The kiss was the most magical that could have ever happened to him. That kiss, it took his breath away. It left him stress less, speechless and senseless.

"Manik? Wha..what happened? Are you...why are you blushing?" She asked, narrowing her questioning eyes at him.

His eyes snapped to her.

And now just the thought of kissing her was making him blush.

What was she doing to him?

He stood up straight and ran a hand through his hair and over his face, resting it on the back of his neck.

He chuckled.

If she was driving him insane, he was completely willing to embrace the insanity.

"And now you're chuckling. Honestly, you're acting a bit weird right now. Just an observation." Nandini pointed out to him.

"I know" he said, chuckling again. "Let's go get lunch. But before that, your wound needs dressing." He turned serious again, as he led her to a chair and grabbed a medicine bow before treating her wound carefully.

Nandini just sat there, admiring the man that she so badly wanted to call hers, a beautiful smile never leaving her face.

But then, what was stopping her?
---

She was walking beside him, their steps in sync with each other, their footsteps leaving a impression of their footprint in the wet sand with each step, the sea water erasing the old ones as they continued to leave new ones behind.

The sun was half into the water, the other half trying its best to illuminate their path, turning extremely orange, sad with the fact that it will be bidding adieu to the couple and the rest of the world for the night. Some of its orange painted the sky, but soon the orange faded to a pink, to blue. The colors of the sky reflecting onto the ocean surface, making it look ethereal.

They had had their lunch together, talking about random things. Over lunch, they had gotten to know each other. The real them. Not the people they pretended to be in front of the world. The mask of "i don't give a fuck" had been dropped. And not satisfied with the time they had spent together at lunch, Manik had stolen Nandini away from the world just for a few more hours, having her all to himself. His to talk to, his to complain to. His to open up to, his to stare at and his to hold.

His to hug, his to kiss and only his to love.

The cool wind blew, playing with her hair. They walked alongside each other in a peaceful silence, Nandini occasionally turning to look at Manik, only to find him staring at her. She, at first, ignored it. Buy after a few times it took over her curiosity.

"Why are you staring at me?" She asked him, looking into his eyes for an answer.

"Because you're the most beautiful being on the planet." He replied.

Nandini widened her eyes at him before turning her gaze to study the patterns on the sand, biting her lip to try to stop the blush from taking over her cheeks.

Her hair, as much as he loved them, were not letting him adore her red cheeks to his heart's content.

He tucked her hair strands behind her ear before a smile a took over her lips.

Seeing her blush because of him, it suddenly had become the most satisfying thing for him in the entire world.

She had slowly started taking over him and his world, he knew it.
And he let her.

He put two fingers under her chin and pulled at it gently, so she was facing him now, his eyes travelling from her eyes to her lips.

"I wish it would have been real." He whispered almost to himself.

But she heard it.

"What?" She asked, moving in front of him, blocking his steps.

Manik sighed.

He might as well tell her.

"It's just that, I had the really beautiful daydream."

"About what?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him.

"About us.."

Nandini bit the inside of her cheeks to hide the blush crawling onto her face.
"Kissing." He finished.

Nandini raised her eyes brows at him before chuckling.

"Well" she said, looking into his eyes, as she took his large hands in hers, entwining their fingers and holding up the knot their hands were in, in front of them, as her eyes shifted from his eyes to their hands, back to his chocolate brown eyes.

"I am glad the kiss was as beautiful for you as it was for me." She said as her lips stretched into a beautiful, peaceful smile, her eyes twinkling, her cheeks having a hint of red coloring them.

"I am glad, I am glad the kiss was so ethereal for you, you mistook it for a dream."
