I slowly slide out of my bed trying to keep my eyes open long enough so I can make it to the bathroom. I look at the time and it reads 7:30 letting me know I have 30 minutes before class starts.
I pick out a pair of leggings with a white simply southern shirt and make my way to the bathroom so I can grab a quick shower before school starts.
Turning on the faucet, I let the cold water run on my hand before switching it to the warm, streaky tempature I usually use in the shower, and step in, pushing the curtains back.
I let the water run down my hair and all the way down my back as I start to drift back into my thoughts. I remember laying with Ace yesterday morning, after I met with my dad.
Ace comforted me. He made me feel safe and made me feel like I was at home again, but to my luck, he has only been acting as a friend lately. A kinda friend where they comfort you when your sad, someone you can tell all of your secrets to and you can trust them to not tell a single soul if you didn't want them to, that kind of friend.
I have to admit it is kind of depressing that we can't be more, but I am okay with that. I don't want a huge relationship, because my last one did not end very well. I ended up getting hurt.
Ace is one of the players in my school. He didn't seem like one when I first met him, but from what I found out from what he's been trying to do with me, when he's dating Rebecca, shows a lot, and I'm not ready to let my heart fall for someone who will probably do the same as he's been doing to her.
I finish washing out the Vanilla Bean shampoo from my hair, and grab a towel from the rack right next to me, placing it around my slim body letting all the water sob up into it, before placing it all around my hair so it can dry too.
I slip on my white simply southern shirt, and my comfortable black leggings, before stepping out of the bathroom and walking over to my dresser.
I pull down the towel that was wrapped securely around my hair and comb through it with my wet brush. Deciding that I want to actually look decent today, I put on a small dab of mascara around my eyelashes before looking in the mirror at my daily look.
Before I know it I hear a loud car horn in my front yard, and I know it's Nina. Skipping down the steps, and out the door I meet her in the car, sliding into the passengers seat and she starts driving while I play with the music.
There's really no good music channels in the morning, it's mostly just morning talk shows and boring shit.
"You know we could play my One Direction CD?" She says with a suspicious smile on her face batting her eyes as she exchanges glance from the road to me.
I look at her for a minute thinking if I should, I mean it would be better than listening to boring talk shows all the way to school, so why not?
"Fine." I say and she begins bouncing up and down in her seat as she squeals.
"Focus on the road!" I yell and do a quick silent prayer to myself that we live the drive to school.
"Oh right." She says and begins driving again and I do a small face palm to the side as I open the case to her CD and slide it in the CD player.
I play around with the arrows that change the songs, before picking one that I like, called History.
I sit back against my seat and listen to the melody before I hear Nina singing to my side.
"You and me, gotta whole lotta history duh duh, we can be the greatest thing-"
"Nina." I say and she turns her head my way.
"Yes?" She asks with a guilty look on her face, and I can tell she knows what I am going to say.
"Sorry." She says before I even say anything and I laugh.
We finally pull into the school parking lot, and Nina gets the parking spot we always get. I grab my bag and my phone in my hand and push open the door to the car, and stepping out.
Nina does the same before meeting me in front of the car so we can walk in together.
"Doesn't it just feel like we were here yesterday?" I ask making my way to the double door where the entrance to the school is.
"It really does, I don't even feel like we had a weekend." She sighs and we walk in before being crowded by the people we always see.
"I'll see you at lunch." She says and I give her a small smile and a nod before she walks to opposite direction from me. I walk down the hallway trying to find my locker, before I finally spot it. Next to it, is Justin, of course.
I don't know how long it takes these guys to get the hint of being uninterested, but I move alone anyways, slowly may I add, over to where he stands.
I look at him for a minute, and he moves aside so I can get into my locker. I study him for a minute and his messy brown hair is pushed to the side, with his hands nervously in his pocket.
"Hey." He says and I send a small smile his way.
"Hey." I respond, pulling out my math books and shut my locker.
"So I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with me today, and my friends." He asks and I begin to try to think of an excuse to say no, before I look out of the corner of my eye, and see Ace with his tongue shoved down Rebecca's throat. A hint of hurtness flows through me as I see the horrifying image that I will never be able to unsee from this day, but then return my gaze back to Justin.
"Id love to, on one condition." I smile and he nods his head waiting for me to tell him.
"Nina gets to sit with us too." I say.

Math drags by, and so does History, but they are finally over. I grab my belongings, and head out the door walking down the hallway before I reach the lunchroom.
I look around and Nina hurries over to me, meeting up with me.
"So, Justin told me we were sitting with him today?" She says puzzled. I skim the room, and find Ace sitting with Rebecca.
"Yes we are." I say pulling at her arm and dragging her over with me to Justin's table. What? Ace has obviously moved on from the kiss, so why can't I?
I set my tray down, and Nina sits right beside me. Justin smiles at me.
"Hey Nina, Maddie." He says and we both respond with a quiet, and shy "Hey"
"These are my friends, Rick, Hunter, and Allen, if they annoy you, just tune them out, they annoy everybody." He says and I give a small laugh, before turning around and looking at Ace. His eyes meet mine. I try to search his face for some type of emotion, or feeling, but I get nothing. Nothing at all.
Guess he has really moved on.
Oh come on, it's been three weeks since we have kissed, that's plenty of time to move on, I need to get over the fact that he's back and happy again.
And plus, I'm the one who said no to him, he has every right to try to move on.
I turn back to Justin and he is over talking with his friends.
"So is this your plan to get over Ace?" Nina says and I turn towards her confused.
"What would make you think that?" I ask her.
"Oh come on Maddie, you have been looking at him all day, especially when your with Justin." She laughs.
"That means nothing."
"Maddie, quit playing, I know you better than you know you." She says, and this is true. Sometimes Nina can figure me out before I can figure myself out.
"Fine." I say, excepting the fact that of defeat.
"I knew it." She says, sending a wink my way, and I burst into laughter, Nina really can't wink.
I turn back to Justin and he studies me.
"Maddie, would you like to go on a date with me Friday night" Justin blurts out, and I look at Nina, and she has a smirk on her face.
"Why not, where to?" I ask.
"Aces party." He says, and my heart drops. This should be fun.
"Sounds perfect." I smirk.
