My thoughts how they drown me like a raging sea,
My hopes how they burn me like a dried up tree.
My dreams how they cut me like a framer's scythe,
My kindness how it betrays me like a wretched wife.
How I seek to understand the softness of my heart,
It weighs me down, lifts me up, and then tears me apart.
How I seek to understand this storm within my soul,
