Following on from 'Christmas Special: Kitty Cat'.
You are a (A/T) for now...
Who has ever looked at a cat, and wanted to put a bow on it?
"You've got the wrong man!" I screamed at him again.
"Why won't you listen to me!? Callum hasn't doesn't anything wrong!"
No-one was listening to me.
Nothing could beat spending a good sunny day in a cozy spot in a forest reading a good book, which is exactly what (Y/N) was doing.
With no Chaos Emeralds missing and the Master Emerald intact she decided to take the chance of free time and finish her book Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman, which she had started about a month ago but had to keep putting down because of mainly Eggman attacks.
The book had reached an intense scene and she was eager to find out what would happen with the end in sight....
"What are you reading?"
"Wah!" (Y/N) jumped.
Spinning around still startled she glared at her Echidna friend who had just appeared and was laughing a little at her.
"Knuckles! Don't make me jump like that!" She yelled at him clutching her book to her chest, her cheeks holding a pink tinge.
"Sorry it was too good an opportunity to miss." Knuckles shrugged.
"Well that was very rude of you! And you shouldn't read over people's shoulders!" She continued to scold him.
"Well you need to improve your senses." He teased her.
"Anyway just don't make me jump or read over my shoulder again. I don't like it." She huffed, not wanting him to get any wrong ideas about what she was reading from a few brief sentences.
"Why? Worried I'll find out about what your reading?" He continued to tease.
"If you must know this book is about racism, there's nothing inappropriate about it." She explained with another huff.
But her muzzle was still a pink, threatening to turn red, as she refused to tell him that there was a couple of heated scenes in the book, one she had read a couple of chapters back.
"Your sure about that?" He asked snatching her book off her.
"Hey give it back Knuckles!" She pleaded reaching for the book, but he was taller than her.
She was growing even more embarrassed at the thought of him thinking she would read 'inappropriate' things.
"Why so eager to get it back?" he asked continuing to snatch the book out of her grasp every time she went to grab it.
"Because its my book! Give it back!" she whined.
"Why worried that I'm going to see what your reading?" he teased again.
And with that her blush exploded visualizing what he would think if he read any of the heated scenes in her book.
"Knuckles you jerk!"
*POOF!*
"What the!?"
It was Knuckles' turn to be made jump as a poof of smoke originated from nowhere temporarily blocking his sight. And when he could see again, the last thing he was excepting was to see (Y/N) had now turned into a cat!
What in Chaos was that!? (Y/N) screamed in her head, but she quickly observed her change in height and that she was standing on all four limbs.
What the!? Glancing at her hands she now had dainty paws and glancing behind her a cat tail was swishing.
Why am I cat!?
"(Y/N)?"
Snapping her head towards Knuckles she saw he was just as confused as she was.
"Can you understand me?" he asked hesitantly obviously not knowing how to approach the situation.
But (Y/N) saw the chance to save herself further embarrassment and also get a little revenge on Knuckles, killing two birds with one stone.
"(Y/N)?" he asked unsure again.
But her response was to lie down on her back as if she were scratching it plainly ignoring his question.
"I'll take that as a no." he sighed.
She continued to act like a cat sitting up and scratching behind her ear as she thought a cat would.
"I wonder what could have caused you to turn into a cat." he thought out loud.
Well I don't very well know myself Knuckles, but I'm not exactly going to tell you I know everything your saying, she thought devilishly.
Knuckles was a bit stuck with what to do though, he first thought about going to Tails for help but he'd feel as though he'd have a hard time trying to convince the kitsune that this cat was (Y/N), yes they had the same (F/C) fur and (E/C) eyes but that was about it.
And if Sonic was with Tails, which he most likely would be, then he'd sure to laugh at him and call him an idiot as he did on many occasions.
So with that uncomfortable proposition hanging over his head he gave another sigh gently as he could, picked (Y/N) up. And holding her book in his spare hand.
"Hey just what do you think your doing!?" (Y/N) tried to ask him, but he only heard feeble meows.
"I guess I'll take you back to Angel Island, and if this... whatever this is, doesn't ware off soon, well I'll think about that when it comes to it." he said to himself and just in case (Y/N) could understand him a little.
It was a quick flight back to Angel Island, which was hard when you had to carry a cat and a book as well. But nether the less Knuckles made it back to the Master Emerald with both of them in one piece.
As soon as Knuckles put (Y/N) down she continued to act like a cat acting interested in her new surroundings, peering up at the ME. So Knuckles took his usual spot sitting down at the top of the shrine.
Not knowing what to do with himself he flicked through a couple of pages of the book (Y/N) had been reading and his eyes caught onto chapters titled 'Callum' and 'Sephy', and he quickly decided that the story line wouldn't interest him so put the book down. Wondering how (Y/N) could read such intricate novels.
A few more minutes passed and he was aware of the sound of (Y/N)'s paw pads dotting around as she looked around the shine, but the peace was quickly disrupted when he felt something sharp claw at his tail!
"What in the name of chaos!?" he yelled standing up.
And he frowned when he saw (Y/N) fall back onto all four paws, quickly figuring out that she had clawed at his tail.
You should have seen your face Knuckles! It was a picture! She laughed inside.
"I swear if you weren't aware you were a cat I'd be tempted to punch you." he mumbled sitting back down.
Well that's what you get for being a jerk earlier.
After coming back to the ME (Y/N) had continued acting like a cat but now she planned to irritate Knuckles to the moon and back. Not even a couple of seconds later she had hopped onto his shoulder and started messing around with his dreadlocks.
"(Y/N) get off!" he grumbled at her pushing her off his shoulder.
"Your no fun!" she whined.
"Jeez I hope you turn back to normal soon..." he sighed.
And then that thought struck (Y/N). What happened if she stayed like a cat her entire life? But with how easily she'd turned into one she must be able to turn back with just as much ease. She took on a out look like Knuckles deciding to cross that bridge when she came to it.
Little did she know though that poor Knuckles felt rather bad about his friend turning into a cat, despite him not knowing how it happened he was convinced it was somehow his fault.So if she didn't turn back soon he'd be sure to find a way to get her back to normal.
However as Knuckles ran through solutions to his friends problem (Y/N) couldn't fight the inner cat.
The sun had come out creating a wonderland for the little cat as green lights illuminated the stone slabs of the shrine, as light reflected off the ME.
Ohhh there so bright! But I'm not really a cat, should I even be chasing these stupid lights? But then again I do need to keep up the 'act' that I'm a cat....
With that final thought (Y/N) couldn't take the temptation anymore and dived for the many lights, every time she failed to capture one of the lights though she felt a surge of frustration before moving to the next light that was closet to her.
Knuckles was watching her and couldn't help but give a small chuckle, he knew (Y/N) definitely didn't know she was a cat at that point, otherwise she would never have done that.
Oh Knuckles if only you knew....
"And just when I thought I'd be able to steal that lovely Master Emerald!" a voice soft as silk called.
(Y/N) was too preoccupied with her light hunt to take notice of the new voice, but Knuckles let out a quiet growl.
"What are you doing here Rouge?" he asked not even bothering to look at her as she landed.
"Well that's not much of a welcome, especially after I flew all this way to see you." she answered in her usual sassy tone.
"Are you talking to me or the Master Emerald?" he asked with a sigh.
"Who knows?" she smirked.
"Meow..."
At the little sound of a cat Rouge caught onto the sight of a (F/C) furred cat trying to catch the light reflected by the sun on the Master Emerald, and instantly was besotted by the cute thing.
"And what do we have here? Are you keeping another treasure from me Knuckles?" Rouge asked stepping past him and to (Y/N).
(Y/N) herself was made jump when she felt someone pick her up suddenly, and she was surprised to see that it was Rouge.
"Rouge? What are you doing here?"
"You sure are a cutie pie. What's her name?" Rouge asked petting (Y/N) a little.
And (Y/N)'s first reaction was to purr at the contact, whereas Knuckles' instinct at the current moment was to panic. He needed a name fast!
"Uhhh... Sehpy." he quickly said remembering the name from (Y/N)'s book.
"Sehpy? That's a fitting name if you ask me." she said more to (Y/N) then Knuckles.
But Knuckles was just worried about (Y/N), for some reason suddenly that something might go wrong.
"Ohh I have an idea!" Rouge suddenly beamed.
She then sat down with her back to Knuckles with (Y/N) on her lap.
"Hey! What are you doing to (Y- S-Sephy!?" he asked, knowing if it was Rouge it was probably something mischievous.
"Oh don't worry, I'm not hurting her." she reassured him waving him off.
She sat there for about another minute or two hiding from Knuckles what she was doing. She then stood up holding 'Sephy' out to him with a flourish obviously pleased with herself.
"There you go! And now she looks like a proper lady, I'd say my work here is done." she smiled to herself.
But Knuckles wasn't too sure as he looked down at (Y/N) in his arms now decorated with a bright red ribbon tied around the end of her tail, and a pink white diamond studded collar around her neck.
"I'll let Sephy have those, besides a girl needs her accessories. But I'll be back another day for the lovely Master Emerald."
Before Knuckles could complain Rouge flew off leaving him with a kitted out kitty.
Hmmm, I'm not too sure, I like the ribbon but the collars a bit itchy, (Y/N) thought to herself admiring her reflection in the ME after Knuckles had out her back down.
"Why does that bat always have to get involved with everything." she heard Knuckles mumble as he sat back down.
She would have gone back to chasing the lights off the ME or to irritating Knuckles but as eveing started to fall there were a couple new guests to the shrine.
"Chao!"
A couple a regular Chao's had come to the shrine most likely to get some attention off Knuckles, with one starting to play with his dreadlocks, another sat on his head and another tugging at his arm.
"Hey guys..." he greeted them.
So he doesn't mind little Chao's annoying him and climbing all over him but the moment I turn into a cat and pester him a little he gets pissy with me, (Y/N) grumbled to herself.
But she made jump as something yanked on her tail!
"Hey what do you think your doing!?" she hissed at the Chao pulling at her tail.
"Chao! Chao! Chao!" it chimed happily.
"Let go of my tail!" she hissed again.
More Chao's then came over and started to pester (Y/N) thinking it was some sort of game. Knuckles seeing the commotion though brushed the couple of Chao's on him off.
"Come on you lot get along." he sighed at the sight trying to get the Chao's off (Y/N).
Hurry up Knuckles they wont stop pestering me!
Picking (Y/N) up out of reach of the Chao's the chaos didn't end there though as one Chao jumped up at Knuckles knocking him off his balance! Tumbling to the ground in a jumbled mess of echidna, cat and many Chao's, (Y/N) fell out of Knuckles grip and she felt something soft brush against her lips for an instant....
Before they all crashed to the ground!
"Ouch..." Knuckles winced sitting up a little as the Chao's continued to pest him and he tried to sort them out.
What the heck was that!? And what did my lips touch!? She thought standing up on all four limbs again.
However her thoughts were cut off when a sort of pinkish mist started to shroud her.
What the!?
*POOF!*
As soon as the cloud of smoke disappeared (Y/N) felt like a changed person, and that's because she was. Sat on her knees she looked down and saw she no longer had paws, her tail was back to its original length and her size was back to normal!
I'm back to normal!
Well, not counting the collar and ribbon Rouge had given her, which had oddly changed in size as she did.
"(Y/N)!? When did you turn back!?"
Looking behind her she saw that Knuckles had only just noticed her, having just calmed the Chao's down.
Crap! I can't let him know I knew I was a cat!
"What do you mean?" she asked giving a large yawn.
Knuckles quickly caught on realizing that maybe she didn't know she'd even turned into a cat.
"And how'd I end up here any how? Doesn't matter I'm tired." she said, not lying about that last comment.
Being a cat had taken it out of her. So without giving it much thought she lay down using his lap as a pillow and quickly dosing off, leaving Knuckles as a blushing mess and left to figure out how in Chaos she had gotten back to normal.
Eventually he gave up on any thoughts like that though and just decided to stay still as not to disturb his once kitten of a friend.
I swear that I'll never let him know I knew what I was doing, the entire time...
