It's been two weeks since the whole the thing with my mom. Michael did serve those papers to her, and surprisingly, both my mom and dad signed those papers, now all I have to do is prove that I'm mature enough to live on my own, with the help of Michael and my brothers.
Right now, I was at Michael's apartment, staying the night. I just got out of the shower, feeling a lot better after today. Michael went out to get us something to eat, plus some chocolate cake, which I've been craving for so long.
It didn't take long before he came back with bags of food and a container that had the chocolate cake in it. I jumped up and smiled, ready to eat.
"What did you buy to eat?" I asked.
"I didn't know what you wanted so I got some stuff from mcdonalds, some stuff from Burger King, and stuff from Taco Bell." He said, setting down the bags on the coffee table.
I put my hands on my hips and looked at him. "Are you sure you didn't get the munchies and just got a bunch of shit of shit from different places?" I asked curiously.
He chuckled. "Alright, you got me, me and Ash did smoke before we decided to get something to eat, but we just couldn't decided what we wanted. So, Ashton is the one who bought most of the food, so you should thank him." He said to me.
And right on cue, Ashton walks in with Calum following behind.
"Calum, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"My mother thought it was a good idea to spend the night over here, so me and Ashton could 'bond', whatever that means." He said.
I chuckled. "When are you going to realize that Ashton isn't that bad of a person?" I asked.
"Never." He said. "Maybe when hell freezes over."
"Then I guess you'll be waiting forever."
"I guess so." He shrugged.
I rolled my eyes, kind of getting tired of Calum's whiny princess act, but I know he'll get over it once he sees the baby. There's two things the Calum loves, puppies and babies, as soon as he looks at the baby, it'll be love at first sight.
I grabbed some of the food and went in Michael's room, leaving both Ashton and Calum alone in the kitchen. I walked in and closed the door, sitting on the bed with Michael, who was texting someone again.
"Who are you texting?" I asked, shoving a fry in my mouth.
Michael snapped out of it and put his phone down. "No one, just a friend." He said quickly and nervously.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Just a friend?" I asked.
"Yes, a friend." He said, still nervous.
I sighed and nodded, but shrugged it off and continued eating. He's been acting weird at random times of the day. One minute, he'll be decently normal, but then the next minute, he'll start acting weird and nervous. I don't know what he's up to, but whatever it is, it better be worth my older boyfriend acting like a nervous child.
I was almost done eating, when all of a sudden, he got up and looked at me. "There's something I wanna show you." He said to me. I put my food down and followed him to where he wanted me to go.
"I've been working on this for a few weeks now, even Ashton and my parents pitched in some things here and there, but the rest was me." He said, before stopping at a door. I've seen this door plenty of times, Michael has said that it used to be their old roommate's room, but they turned it into a smoking room.
"Why are we about to go into the smoking room?" I asked curiously.
"Well, let's just say it's not a smoking room anymore." He said, but opening the door. I walked inside and it was dark.
"Michael, what going on?" I asked. He didn't answer me, he just turned the lights on and what I saw made me smile widely.
In front of me was what I would hope to be the the twins' nursery.
Oh what am I kidding? I know it's the twins' nursery.
"Michael, is this-"
"Yeah, it's the babies' nursery." He said proudly.
I looked around, looking at the walls, the cribs, the changing table, just everything. Was this why he was acting so strange? Because he didn't want to ruin the surprise?
"B-But how?" I asked.
"I may have used some more of the money that I saved, but only for the paint. My parents paid for the cribs and the changing table, and Ashton painted the picture on the wall." He said, walking further into the room.
I smiled, tearing up a bit from just overwhelming happiness. I didn't know what else to do, other than go up to him and hug him, which he gladly hugged me back.
"There's something else that I want to show you." He said. I pulled away, looking at him, waiting for him to show me something else. But soon, he took my hand and led me back out to the living room, where Ashton and Calum were sitting.
"Uh oh, it's happening." I overheard Ashton say. I furrowed my eyebrows, then looked at Michael.
"Michael, what's going on?" I asked, a bit nervous now.
He took a deep breath and took my hands, kissing them. I was still so confused, but waited patiently for him to say something.
"I never thought I would be standing here, about to say this." He said, before looking at me deeply with those bright green eyes.
"Luke...I love you." He finally said it.
My eyes grew wide and my heart started beating. Did I hear that correctly?
"You don't have to say it back, I understand if you don't feel that way towards me yet or at all, but I can't sit around and ignore this feeling anymore." He said. "I love your smile, your eyes, your all around personality, and I love that your the one carrying our babies. And even if you weren't pregnant, I would've still fell in love with you. I don't care that you're three years younger than me, if anything, you're more mature than I'll ever be." He said nervously, looking like he wanted to cry at any moment.
"That's very sweet, Michael, I haven't heard kind words like that in...actually I never heard kind words like that before." I smiled. "But umm, why couldn't you have just said this in the room?" I asked curiously.
He chuckled and reached down to take something out of his pocket. I looked down and saw that it was a small box. I gasped and watched as he slowly got down on one knee.
"Michael, no, it can't be-"
"It's not what you think...well kinda, but you'll see." He smiled, before he took another deep breath. "I'm not not gonna lie, when I saw you at that party, it was only suppose to be a one time thing. But then, I couldn't stop thinking about you. When we had sex, it felt more than just sex, and that's never happened to me before." He paused for a moment, collecting his thoughts. I'm still standing there, happy tears rolling down my face.
"Im not much of a religious person, but when I saw you again, it was like God was giving me a sign that you were too special to just forget about, and you being pregnant with our babies was just a super plus in all of this." He said, before shakily opening the box revealing the ring. I gasped looking at it.
It looked so simple but yet so damn beautiful.
"Babe, oh my god.." I said, covering my face, sobbing a bit.
"Luke, I love you, and I feel like that's never going to change." He paused to take the ring out. "With this promise ring, I promise to never let you down, I promise that I'll do whatever it takes to be the man that you want me to be, I promise to try not to be so stupid and immature, I promise to love you and these babies with all of my heart, and I promise that my love for you won't ever change." He said, looking up at me with tears in his eyes. "So what do you say? Do you want to be with me forever?" He asked, looking at me with hopeful eyes.
I smiled, tears still rolling down my face, probably looking so gross right now.
"Is that even a question?" I asked, my voice cracking a little. "Michael, yes, yes I'll be with you, you should already know that." I said, wiping my tears away. "You've been there when no one else was, you put up with my bullshit, you stayed when I didn't want anything to do with you, so I would be a complete dumbass if I just sat here and said no." I said, before watching him get up and take my hand. He takes the ring and slides it on my finger. I looked down on it and moved my hand around to see the diamond shine in the light.
"And I even have one." He said, putting out the chain that was around his neck, showing off the matching ring. "It wouldn't fit on my finger, so I decided to just wear it around my neck, close to my heart." He said, laughing at the last part. "But no, it really wouldn't fit on my finger, so I just bought a chain and decided to wear it around my neck." He said, smiling.
I smiled and just pulled him into a hug and pulled away enough to kiss his lips passionately. I could hear Calum and Ashton cheering in the background.
"Woohoo, that's my best friend!" Calum shouted.
I rolled my eyes at them and continued kissing Michael, until I couldn't breathe and needed to catch my breath.
"I have one for thing to show you." He said, before laughing.
"No, Michael, no more stuff." I chuckled.
"I think you'll like this though, they're for the babies." He said, before going to the hallway closet to grab something. When he came back, he had a bag in his hand.
"What is it?" I asked.
He pulled out the little onesies out of the bag. "I was hoping they could wear these when they come home from the hospital." He said, showing them to me. I looked at them and read it what it said on them. I chuckled a bit and smiled.
"These are cute, they can wear these when we left the hospital." I said, putting them back in the bag. He smiled and pecked my lips, then whispered in my ear.
"So do I get something in return for being the best boyfriend in the world?" He asked, smirking. I smiled and blushed, looking at him.
"Yeah, you definitely do." I smirked back.
