Chapter 33
2 years later
Waking up I dragged myself out of bed with Damien' s help. I feel like I'm as big as a house and yet all the guards still look at me with lust filled eyes. I got to my feet and Damien got to his knee's talking to my bump like he has done every day for nearly six months now. Today is my due date for our first baby. I couldnt help but laugh when our baby kicked Damien into the side of his face, leaving him looking shocked.
"Our baby is already kicking ass" he laughed.
"Definitely with the kicks I have been getting, hopefully our little baby is ready to come today so we can meet him or her" I told him hopefully as I rubbed my bump.
I have to say, I have loved every minute of being pregnant. Feeling our little baby move for the first time and feel it's first kick is amazing. The rush of love I get every time I feel our baby move is unimaginable, I already feel so protective towards my little bump. He or she is going to be spoilt rotten by Marcus, Lily, Amelia, Jacob, the king and the queen, our baby is the first new royal to be born since kyle and with what the king told us, our baby is going to be the first of the new stronger royals to be born. Marcus is worse than the women, he and Damien constantly talk to my bump, sometimes I think they forget that I'm carrying my bump around, at times the baby has kicked my bladder and I have to literally kick them off to run to the bathroom. But I can't blame them any chance I get I talk to my bump aswell. I waddled downstairs and outside to meet Lily and Amelia. Since we found out I was pregnant the king has given Damien and me a gorgeous cottage a little distance from our house. We have changed a few things in the house and freshened it up with new furniture and done each room to the way we want things. We're going to check that everything is ready so Marcus and Damien can get the guy's to help move our stuff over today so we can bring our baby home to our own house. It's only the baby's room that needed to be done but that should have been finished this morning. I heard the girls before I saw them. I turned and faced them smiling as they tried to wrap their arms around me and my growing bump.
"Any sign that baby is going to come today" Amelia asked excitedly.
"Not yet but I have my finger crossed, there is know more room to grow" I said hopefully.
"I'm hoping you start today, I can't wait to meet him or her" Lily said smiling.
"You just want to go baby shopping and look at all the cute little outfit's" I teased her smiling.
"I know but some of the baby clothes are so cute Lexi" lily said obviously having the baby blues.
"I think you and Marcus should start trying to have a baby, you would both be great parent's especially with how Marcus talks to my bump" I said smiling.
"We are trying, but nothing is happening yet" she said with a sad smile.
"It will happen when you least expect it and for now you will have this little baby to spoil" I said reassuring her.
"I hope so, anyway let's go and see if your baby room is ready" she said linking one arm as Amelia linked my other helping me walk.
We opened the door and stepped into our new home. Everything looks perfect, the colour and the furniture makes it so homely looking. I checked each room, happy that everything is in place, even our room looks perfect, the bed is already dressed and looks so comfortable right now. The room is done in a warm wine colour on one wall and the rest are done in cream. We have a large queen size bed dressed with a wine and cream duvet cover with loads of pillows on the bed. There is even a fire place in the room and it's already lite. That's strange. I walked into the room and opened the wardrobes to find all my clothes and personal belongings already in there. I looked at the girl's who were smiling.
"When did all my stuff get here?" I asked.
"This morning early while you were sleeping, the boys brought everything over" Amelia said.
"I must have been out like a light" I said embarrassed thinking of everyone coming in and out of the room while I looked like a beach whale sprawled out in my bed.
"Come on, you need to check out the babies room" Lily said.
I closed the door and walked towards the babies room. I opened the door and the biggest smile appeared on my face. It is absolutely perfect. The walls are done in a light but warm cream colour, there is a rocking chair near the fire place which also has a fire lite. The cot is a gorgeous, solid oak swinging cot dressed with white cover and a white canopy over it and held back with with white hooks, it has little stones on it that are sparkling from the flames of the fire. A solid oak changing unit is placed neatly in the corner from the fireplace to the wall. The curtains are white but heavily lined and a blind to help keep the light out. Little butterflies were sown into the curtains, but standing out off the fabric. The other wall beside the fireplace has a built in wardrobe. It is perfect, more than I could have imagined. I looked at the girl's to find them smiling.
"This is amazing, it's perfect" I told them.
"You really like it?" they asked.
"I don't like it, I love it" I replied.
I turned around to walk out of the room but stopped when I felt a pain in my stomach. It didn't last long and soon it was completely gone.
"Are you okay Lexi, is it starting?" Amelia asked.
"I'm not sure, I felt a pain but it's gone now" I told her. I went to walk again when the pain returned, this time lasting a little longer. I took in long slow breaths trying to breath through it. Eventually it passed.
"I think it is starting" I told them.
"Okay, Amelia get her into her room and into bed, I will go get Damien and the doctor and let them know it's starting" Lily said running out the door.
Amelia helped me into bed and grabbed me my night dress from my wardrobe and helped me get dressed. We had just got on the night dress when another contraction tore through me, I took deep breaths in and out, breathing through the contraction. I laid back on my bed, panting as Amelia held my hand.
"You're doing brilliant Lexi, just think at the end of this you will have your beautiful baby" Amelia said with a smile.
I was just about to answer when another contraction ripped through me, where the hell is Damien and the doctor. As if my thoughts were answered, they came running in through the front door and into my our room. I couldn't even smile at him, I just concentrated on getting through this contraction.
"Your doing great Lexi, I just need to check how far along you are" the doctor said calmly.
I nodded and breathed a sigh of relief when the contraction eased. Damien walked to the other side of our bed and took my hand, kissing it gently.
"You are fully dilated now Lexi, when your next contraction comes, I want you to push when I tell you and stop and breath when I tell you" the doctor told me.
"Okay, I can feel another one coming" I told him, panting.
After over an hour of pushing, I finally heard our baby's first cry.
"Congratulations, you have a beautiful little girl" the doctor announced.
"We have a daughter" I said looking at Damien, he looked at me with so much love in his eyes.
"I didn't think it was possible to love you anymore than I do, but I was wrong Lexi, you have made me the happiest man alive" he told me with the biggest smile on his face.
"I love you, what does our little girl look like?" I asked him.
"Just like you, breathtaking" he answered.
The doctor walked towards us, holding my daughter and carefully placed her on my chest. She is so tiny and delicate. Perfect. Like me she has golden blonde hair, porcelain skin, a button nose and full red lips. I watched her as I snuggled her into my chest, keeping her warm. Ever time I look at her another rush of love races through my veins along with the strongest need to protect her from everything bad in this world.
"She is so beautiful just like you, I can't believe we made something so perfect and tiny" Damien said as he sat beside me and gently took our babies hand in his. Her hand looks so tiny as it rests in Damien' s large strong hand.
I cannot believe how lucky I am to have all of this, that night the old Lexi died was only the start of a new better life for me, a life where I am loved and I love back wholeheartedly.
"What should we name her?" Damien asked looking at me.
"Ruby is the only name that keeps coming into my head, what do you think?" I asked him, as I looked amazed at our daughter.
"It's perfect for her" he smiled and kissed me before he kissed our daughter head.
I couldnt take my eyes off her, wishing she would open her little eyes. After half an hour I got my wish, she opened her eyes slowly to reveal her beautiful deep blue eyes like her father's.
"Ruby has your eyes" I smiled at Damien and he looked down at her with so much love.
"We are going to have our hands full with this little beauty, we will be fighting off boys when she gets older" Damien said laughing.
We were interrupted by a knock on our door. Damien got and walked to the door to see who it is. Marcus is the first face I saw, followed by lily, Jacob, Amelia, the queen and king.
"Is it okay to come in?" Marcus asked smiling.
"Of course, you're all more than welcome to come in and meet Ruby" I said smiling.
Marcus practically shoved everyone out of the way to get to Ruby first. When he saw her, he stopped and looked amazed at the tiny bundle lying on my chest.
"She is beautiful and so tiny, can I hold her?" he asked with hopeful eyes.
I gently lifted ruby from my chest and wrapped her in her blanket and handed her to Marcus. I thought she looked tiny with Damien but nothing compared to how she looks in Marcus' s arm's. I watched him hold her gently and pull the blanked from her little face to look at her. Ruby looked up at Marcus with her beautiful blue eyes, I knew from the second he saw them she already has him wrapped around her little finger without trying. The others moved around Marcus, looking at the newest member to the royal family. The girl's fell in love with her straight away, I could hear their thought's. The king held her looking at her in amazement,
"I can already feel her power, she is going to be powerful like you Lexi" he said smiling down at her. From his thoughts she already has him wrapped around her finger like Marcus.
She won't ever be left unprotected or unloved like I was, she will have everything she will ever need, parent's who love her unconditionally and a family who love her and will do anything to keep her safe. That is more than I could ever dream of for her and she hasn't even met the royals guards yet.
I did notice one thing in the king' s thoughts. It seems my family have finally started to look for me over two years later. The king recognised the pictures of me from the memories I allowed him to see. Why look now, over two years later, has guilt finally set in or are they trying to look the part of concerned, worried parents. I put it to the back of my mind, I will ask him about it later, right now I just want to relax with my daughter, my beloved and my family.
