"Hey Babay!" Rick said as I watched my mother run down the stairs with a bottle of wine in her hands and a silk night gown.
Rick turned grabbed her, gave her a kiss and said:
"Give it to me baby!" I winced.
"Oh stop it!" Mom giggled. "Alex so nice of you to make it down!" She said pulling out of Rick's arms. Rick gave her a pat on the bum and walked out of the room.
Once he was out of ear shot, I quipped:
"Mom what is going on?"
"Oh come on in, going on with what dear."
"Him" I whispered. Mom laughed:
"He is handsome isn't he treats me like a lady and if I may say so he is quite a super freak too!"
"Mom!" It was odd to hear my proper mom, talk about sex. It used to be taboo.
"So what is going on with you? How is your husband and where is my grandbaby?" She asked looking out the door. I walked in dropped my bags and slouched onto the couch.
"He is not coming. But he is fine" I said dejected.
"Fine Oh no! dear, why? where is he?"
"With Prince" I whispered hoping Rick would not hear.
"With Prince?" Mom yelled out. "Have you lost your mind?" Mom asked out loud; that's when Rick came running out.
"Everything ok? What did ol' Princey do? He is not messing with my baby girl now is he?"
Fuming, I replied: "No sir."
"What do you mean no, he just took her child on tour with him."
"He did what? Now a baby needs to be with his mama! That ain't right baby girl. Let us call him right now."
"I can't," I said.
"Why not?" Rick Asked.
" he does not have a cell phone."
"what? In today's world? Sign of the times!"
"I think we should just calm down. It's okay" Mom said sitting next to me.
"Well, so what are we going to do?"
"I guess you're just going to have to wait, baby girl," Rick said leaning on the wall.
"Rick why don;t you make us some tea my" mom said trying to hurry Rick out of the room.
Rick raised his eyebrows but soon got the message. He walked out the door and into the kitchen.
"I guess we are just going to have to wait right mom?" Then I began to whisper:
"where is dad?"
"Honestly dear I have no idea the last time I saw him was back in Africa or somewhere but rest assured, he's doing OK! Honestly, dear, I'm no longer attracted to your dad."
Mom pulled me closer and whispered into my ear:
" Rick is the one for me. He's handsome; he really gives it to me. He is everything I need at this stage in my life."
Enough! I felt as though she had said everything she needed to say so I rose to my feet and asked:
"Where is the bathroom, oh and mom beautiful house."
"Well, you know your love and husband, Prince got it for me."
"Yes, of course, say now that you mentioned Prince, I'm a little sore."
"Sore did he do anything?"
"Nah nothing to worry about mom."
"Hmm, I see it in your eyes a night of passion!"
"Mom! if you don't mind I think I'm going to lay down some."
Of course, I felt sore, which is not surprising after last night's romp with Prince; I began to worry about Nate: "I Hope he is okay" Plus my breasts were getting engorged need to empty them out right away!
Later that evening, I tossed and turned in bed. So I got up and walked to the kitchen, Mom and Rick were watching a movie. That's when My phone rang; it was a call from Prince.
"Hello, Athena?"
"Hello, how are you" I began whispering. "where is my baby?"
"Nate is okay he is with Mel, he has been really fussy, but she is a pro."
"Please I want to see him, plus I need to see him."
A silent pause followed for a few minutes, then he said:
"Maybe a few days how's your mom?"
Just then Rick came over and took the phone away from my hand. He said
"Hey, Princey! What kind of jive mess do you have going on? You know that baby needs his mama."
I cringed hoping he was now going to make it worse than it is.
Prince responded, "who is this?"
"You know who this is this, boy, the man that gave you a shot when you didn't have nothing! Now do the right thing and return that baby to his mother, or have her come over to show. Where are you today."
"That's only for Athena to know" Prince replied calmly
"Boy don't play with me."
"All right Rick she can come when she's ready."
"Oh yeah how about tomorrow."
"I have an award show tomorrow, I got nominated," he said
"Congratulations! Why that's even better! Why not send us the three tickets. One for our baby girl, her mom, and mine!"

Rick handed the phone back to me
Prince then said:
"Got to go, Athena, consider the ticket purchase done!"
I thanked Rick.
For some reason, he was able to convince Prince.
I could not believe Prince invited me over to see him at the next tour stop in Los Angeles, and he said I would be attending the award with him! All must be forgiven!

Following day my mom, Rick and I took a flight to Los Angeles

"I already called someone to pick us up we don't need his limo we have to show him we got this, he will understand; we are not tied to him," Rick said
That's OK we might as well take the limo now that it's here I said mom agreed so we got in the limo, and the driver said
"Our first stop would be shopping on Rodeo Drive."

"Yes madam, the boss, wants you to pick out an outfit for the evening."
"Well I could get used to this," my mom said. I must confess all I cared about was seeing my son; I needed to see him.
Once we got to Rodeo Drive, I kept on prompting my mom to hurry up.
"please, I need to get to the hotel my son needs me."
"Hold your horse's, that's fine we're going to go just relax in the hotel," my mom said
"Hey babe, check this out," Rick said picking out a silk shirt "you think you look good on me how much is it?"
"$3000."
"$3000 for this?"
"That Sir comes from the finest Silk; I am pretty sure it made it way to us from the Himalayan mountains" the attendance replied
"Oh yeah? Well, then I am not a hills fan!"
"I understand sir" the Attendant replied.
Mom finally picked out an outfit and asked: "do you think this would look good on me."
I replied:
"You look fantastic mom can we now go because I really do need to see my son."
We drove to the Beverly Hills hotel; I took a deep breath as I waited in Anticipation of Nate getting placed in my arms.
Mel met us in the lobby and handed a fussy Nate over
"He missed you, madam, we had a rough night," Mel said as Nate cooed and smiled at me while tugging gently on to my dress wanting to nurse.
"Well, my grand baby, is so handsome, Isn't he dear?"
"Yeah baby girl he looks like you, not like Princey

Prince walked into the lobby looking magnificent;
A lady held on to his arm, her knees were kind of dusty if you know what I mean.
"Athena, this is my stylist for the day Stephanie, do you think she did a good job?"
"splendid" I replied, coldly feeling a wave of jealousy overcoming me.
"Step meet my wife, Athena!"
Stephanie's eyes widened, she said:
"Pleased to meet you" and promptly excused herself.
Prince looked at My Mom smiled: "Looking as beautiful as ever."
Then he turned to Rick:
"Glad you could make it I got nominated tonight, for an American music Award. Mel will show you to your rooms."
He turned to face me and whispered in my ear: "Hot thing you are my date this evening. Let's get you dressed, be waiting in the car."
Was all forgiven? I took Nate to the room, breastfed him and pumped some milk for Mel and hurriedly got dressed. Mom and Rick decided to stay put at the hotel opting to check out the spa instead. I got dressed in a purple sequined dress, five-inch pumps, and hot makeup. I looked the rock star part.
As soon as I got into the limo, Prince glanced at the Champagne bottle in the Limo. I looked at him and said:
"Perhaps we should celebrate?"

"Yes, you are going to win tonight! The Purple family will not let you down!"

Yes! I said reaching for the Champagne bottle.
Prince picked up both glasses. He watched amused as I tried to open the Champagne bottle. That is when I realized it was my 21st birthday in a few hours.
Apparently, Prince remembered, he took the Champagne bottle and popped it open. Then poured two glasses and handed me one.
"To winning tonight babe! Prince quipped. I raised my glass;
"It's your big birthday tonight, enjoy your first drink," Prince said. "Happy legal happy 21st!"
"Yes it is, baby, it's already midnight in New York, there is nowhere else I would rather spend my 21st than with you, my soulmate," I said, as our glasses clicked and I took a sip. If only he knew, this was not my first drink. I began to pour and drink some more!
"Maybe we shouldn't" Prince urged. "I don't think you can handle too much."
I laughed and took in a big gulp!
"I can handle my drink!" I said.

We drank a whole lot in the Limo until we got intoxicated.

We got into the grand ballroom stumbled up the stairs giggling and holding on to each other; then we mischievously rolled back down the stairs to the chagrin of the prim and proper guests at the award show, who all let out a loud gasp!
