But I have a fear of flying
A fear of flying high and soaring
Far beyond where I have ever been
You may jiggle my wings
And tell me to try
You may make taunt me or grow angry
Or maybe even cry
I understand your reasons, because I see you way up there.
I view you with my eyes shut,
Dancing among the cotton clouds
Waiting on me to join you,
Amongst the blue skies that only heaven allows.
But my fear keeps me grounded, properly anchored to the floor
I cannot find the ability; I do not need to soar.
My wings are not needed to be viewed from up above.
I am perfectly content, being just the one you love.
For my flying is done, when you are by my side,
And my fear is gone, when you hold me in your arms.
