Christmas...
The (supposedly) most wonderful time of the year but for me, it's the craziest.
Since my birthday is December 21, and since I met Alexx, we have a tradition, A tradition that Zach has no idea about. But we have the celebration tomorrow, and I don't plan on telling Zach about it coz it's embarrassing.
Right now, we're putting decorations on the Christmas tree, one of my favourites as I'm dressed up in my favourite outfit, a white dress with black tights. Zach stands next to me and puts up ornaments. I pick up the most valued possession I own from my mum, her angel wings ornament. She gave it to me when I was little, when grandma had passed.
"I like that one." Zach whispers from beside me, snapping me out of my daze. "Mom gave it to me." I say as I hand it to him. "Where do you want it to go?" he asks. I point to the top and he laughs coz I'm so short I have to get on my tip toes. He puts it up near the star and smiles at me. I can't help but admire him, he's been here when I've cut, he's been here when I'm sad or depressed, He's always been there for me and I think his present will surely show how much I'm thankful for him.
"Dakota! Zach! your needed in my office!" Alexx calls from upstairs.
Shit, please don't make this happen early.
I turn to walk up there and Zach doesn't follow, "you coming?" I ask him. "Oh um y-yea, just one more thing." he walks up to me and kisses me softly on the lips. I kiss him back as I wrap my arms around his neck and his around my back. "jump" his whispers. I do as told and I wrap my legs around his waist tightly as his hands hold me by my thighs to keep me in place. My cuts have healed by now but Zach is still careful about them. "SOME TIME TODAY?!" Alexx yells which scares me and Zach. He softly chuckles and sets me down. he takes my hand and leads me up the stairs to Alexx's chamber of secrets.
I open her door and she's sitting in her vanity chair with obviously fake glasses."Were you two making out?" she asks.
"Noooooooo." I sound like a lying 5 year old. "Mhm now sit your little asses down, story time."
Fuck, she's gonna tell Zach.
"Alexx please don't tell him, it's hard enough with you every year!" I tell her. "Sorry babe! but rules are rules, if one is part of ones household, he shall be notified of all traditions aka pretty boy here must know." She says gesturing to him. I take Zach's hand and we sit on the bed. I bury my face in my hands before Alexx speaks.
"Zach, as you must know by now, Dakota's birthday is tomorrow, but we have a tradition. Every year on December twenty first through twenty fifth, we celebrate Dakota's birthday and christmas in the most crazy ways. Every year is the same for me, you and her except she gets more days. Everything is planned out for tomorrow and you will participate." Alexx concludes.
I look up and Zach is looking at her like a crazy person.
"Are you serious Al?" he asks.
"Dead serious." She says.
"what are we gonna do tommrow?" I ask.
"We're gonna hang up the lights and decorate cookies!"Alexx yells excitedly. "thank god! I thought you'd make us streak or something!" Zach says in relief. "I'm gonna go take a shower." I say as I stand up. "ok babe," Zach says. I walk out of Alexx's room and I grab some of Zach's clothes and I walk into the bathroom. I turn on the shower and I strip down to nothing before I get inside.
