Rain drops

chapter 2

I have to get out. I can’t stay here. She could leave me on the street and not come pick me up a day later this time. I throw things around the room until I find my torn, beat up, old brown back pack. I shove five suits of clothes in there as I hear my mom leave for work. I zip it up and go into the kitchen. I grab cans of potted meat and ravioli. I also grab five bottles of water before heading out of the door.  I grab my old striped jacket that I got when I was eleven. Its sleeves climbed halfway up my elbow, but it will have to do. I race down the alley as I feel the cold rain pour down on me. I know where I can stay. My friend tyler and I have a secret hide out deep In the woods, and we both swore if we needed each other at any time we would meet up at the old tree house. I can finally see it in the distance. Its only about 40 feet away. I pop my phone out of my pocket and call tyler. “come on, answer tyler.” I say as I hear the phone ring. “Whats wrong Mariah?” Tyler says. I can tell he just woke up. “My mom threw me out on the street again. Secret hide out. Now.” “ok. I’ll be right there.” He says as he hangs up.
