A week after the tragic incident in the hospital, everyone slowly got back to what they were doing before. Rayyan was still trying to figure out how to help Trent, much to his father's disapproval but the man did save his daughter's life; the only way he could repay him back was to get Trent back to his own daughter.
Y/N came back to school and was welcomed by the entire school while she and Camila became inseparable. Today marks the day that they've started talking to each other for 3 weeks and even though it doesn't make a big significance in the relationship, Camila can't believe she's in a relationship with her crush for 3 weeks already.
However, Y/N's been hiding something from Camila and it irritates her in a way. It first started when Y/N got discharged from the hospital and instead of hanging out with Camila, the team captain made an excuse and said she was gonna hang out with Shawn and Ally.
Now, Camila understood that she probably just wanted to spend time with her best friends so she didn't make it a big deal at first but now, Y/N would whisper something to Dinah, Normani or Lauren and it gets to the Latina.
Currently though, Camila was watching Y/N from afar as the team captain was talking to her basketball team mates, trying to figure out what could the taller girl be hiding from her.
Dinah, who was next to the shorter girl, noticed this and snorted at the sight of it before saying,
"Are we back to the staring days again?" Dinah teased but Camila didn't break her eye contact as she added, "I thought the whole point of dating her was to be able to see her up close and not stare at her the whole day?"
"Y/N's been hiding something from me and I don't know what it is," Camila said with furrowed brows. As Camila said that, Dinah's whole body tensed up because she knew; she knew what Y/N was planning and she was scared that Camila might find out before the surprise as she added, "I know it isn't anything bad but I hate surprises if it involves me not knowing."
Dinah chuckled nervously, grateful with the fact that Camila didn't notice her peculiar behavior as she said, "Maybe she's trying to surprise you with her costume for the bazaar?" Dinah said, trying her best to convince the shorter girl.
This peaked Camila's interest which inevitably made her turn her head around as she said, out of the blue, "You know something," Camila said with narrowed eyes, her voice intimidating and low, making Dinah gulp in nervousness as she added, "What do you know?"
Dinah backed away slowly and avoided Camila's eye contact as she finally locked eyes with Y/N, who was watching their interaction the whole time, silently asking for the team captain's help as she said, "What are you talking about?" Dinah chuckled out nervously, cursing her damn nerves because that was the reason why Camila was suspicious of her.
"What are you not telling me, CheeChee?" Camila asked slowly while her eyes still narrowed at the taller girl as she cornered Dinah.
"Uh, I uh," Dinah stuttered before she widened her eyes at a random spot, feigning surprise as she yelled out, "Woah, it's Eminem in a M&M costume!"
Camila knew Dinah was fooling around but by instinct, she turned her head around and gave Dinah the chance to run away. Camila realized what just happened and just groaned in frustration as Y/N walked over to the Latina, an amused smile formed on her lips as she asked,
"You okay there, sailor?" Y/N asked teasingly.
Camila could help but pout at the team captain as she whined out, "Dinah just bailed on me when I was interrogating her."
Y/N found Camila's pout so adorable that it took everything in her to not kiss it away as she laughed lightly and said, "What were you interrogating her about?"
"What I'm gonna interrogate you next." Camila simply said, making Y/N widen her eyes at her statement.
It was the team captain's turn to laugh nervously as she asked, "Interrogate me about what?"
Camila narrowed her eyes at the taller girl as she crossed her arms while saying, "Oh, don't try to bluff me, Y/L/N," The Latina said suspiciously as she quickly added, "You can't lie about the fact that you've been hiding something from me."
Y/N's whole body tensed and she laughed, maybe a little too forced as it raised Camila's suspicions even more as she retorted with, "I'm not hiding anything from you, babe," Y/N tried to say cutely, hoping that she won't ruin the surprise as she quickly added, "I've just been planning something."
"Well, if it's not that important, tell me what you've been planning then." Camila deadpanned, her face so serious that the team captain was somewhat intimidated.
Y/N sighed defeatedly but she knew better than to give in so cupped Camila's cheeks and gave her a light peck on the lips as she said, "What's the point of planning it so well if I'm just gonna ruin the whole surprise?" Y/N chuckled out.
Camila groaned in defeat as her arms fall to her sides before she played with the hem of the team captain's sweater as it started to get chilly while she said, "I know, it's just that I have a love-hate relationship with surprises," Camila breathed out, making the taller girl laugh as her hands were still cupping the shorter girl's cheeks before she added, "It's like everyone knows but me; I feel like Sofi even knows!"
"Sofi's not a part of this, I promise you," Y/N reassured with a warm smile before she placed another chaste kiss on her forehead as she added, "I can't say the same thing about the girls and your parents, though." The team captain teased.
Camila gasped at Y/N's revelation, couldn't believe that her parents were a part of this before she playfully hit Y/N on the shoulder as she said, "You made my parents hide a secret from me?!"
The team captain laughed loudly at this, finding her angry expression extremely adorable as she said, "Not by choice!"
In all honesty, Camila wasn't mad because deep inside, she's just frustrated that she can't figure out what Y/N's been planning. She was also somewhat excited for the revelation considering Y/N and the gang could've done a lot in a week and that's what made Camila excited but frustrated at the same time.
Camila sighed in defeat before she walked closer towards the team captain and wrapped her arms her waist as she said, "There better be bananas with whatever you're planning," Camila mumbled against Y/N's shoulder, earning a chuckle from the taller girl as she said, "Is it anytime soon though?"
Y/N placed another kiss on the top of Camila's head as she rested the side of her face afterwards before saying, "It's definitely before November."
Camila pulled away slightly as her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she asked, "But tomorrow's already Halloween which means November is in 2 days."
Y/N's lips formed a grin while she nodded in excitement as she said, "I know." The tall girl simply said, making Camila's curiosity increase even more.
Camila groaned once again before stomping her feet childishly, earning an amused response from the tall girl as she whined out, "See?? This is why I hate surprises!"
Before Y/N could reply though, she was dragged away by Shawn as he and their basketball team mates chanted 'Y/L/N' repetitively. Y/N turned her head around and gave Camila a sympathetic look as she mouthed, 'sorry' to the Latina.
Camila wasn't really affected by the action but was more amused by the entire thing. She laughed at the fact that because of the team captain's injury on her left shoulder, none of them dared to be on her left side as they were probably scared of making it worse.
As Y/N was dragged away and a pair of brown eyes were locked on the sight, Camila didn't realize when a certain blonde began making her way towards her.
Which also means Camila jumped slightly in surprise as Hailey tapped her on the shoulder, making Camila place her hand on her chest as she gasped while Hailey gave the shorter girl an awkward laugh but a comforting smile as she said, "Hey... Camila right?"
Camila nodded with an awkward smile, honestly wondering why she was talking to her as she said, "Yeah.. And you're Hailey?"
Hailey nodded with a smile before saying, "That's right," Hailey confirmed with a smile, rocking back and forth on her heels as she said, "I know this might be a bit awkward considering we've never talked before but after hearing Y/N talking about you this whole week, I can't help but get to know her famous girlfriend too." Hailey chuckled out, sincerely wanting to be friends with the shorter girl.
Camila blushed at the recognition of her being Y/N's girlfriend and also the fact that she now knows that the team captain had been talking about her the whole week which makes her insides flutter. What surprised her the most though is that she completely forgot how Y/N and Hailey has been talking more often considering they're in the same art class. Even though Camila has whined out how clingy Hailey was with Y/N, the Latina thought that she was probably just over reacting, especially with how nice Hailey was being to her right now.
"She talks about me?"
Hailey grinned and nodded, remembering very well how much the team captain complimented Camila during every one of their art classes together as she said, "Like a broken record," Hailey chuckled out, earning a light laugh from Camila herself as she added, "She even said how she hoped that you'd be her first and last."
Camila smiled dreamingly at that, couldn't believe that the girl she was seeing had that much hope in their relationship as she asked, "If you don't mind, can you tell me what she said?"
Hailey laughed lightly at Camila's curiosity before she linked arms with the shorter girl which caught Camila off guard a bit, and made their way to the cafeteria as it was currently lunch break, "Well, she wouldn't stop saying how you're such an amazing singer and how you made her see things in a way she's never seen before," Hailey started off, earning a content sigh from the shorter girl as she added, "I also couldn't help but realize how she had this content look in her eyes whenever your name was mentioned; it was as if you were her encouragement and weakness at the same time."
"Believe me when I say this," Camila started off, earning a curious look from the taller girl as she added, "She didn't have that look all the time; actually, I think - no, I know, she still has that one particular look that I'm not a fan of." Camila admitted, slightly surprising herself as to how easy it was for her to tell Hailey this.
Hailey frowned at the revelation, couldn't help but worry slightly for the team captain as she softly asked, "And what look is that?"
Camila sighed heavily as she shook her head and said, "I can't tell you unless Y/N tells you herself," Camila said, earning a nod from Hailey before she adds, "What I can tell you is that Y/N's life isn't easy. I mean yeah, she may seem like she has the 'perfect' life in high school but really, she probably was and still is one of the hardest person to figure out and that's coming from someone who's dating her." Camila admitted sadly in one breath.
Hailey was actually surprised at the revelation, especially when it's coming from Camila. She felt sorry for her though; after being friends with the team captain for a mere week, she already knows how guarded she is, especially when it comes to her family.
Hailey took a deep breath and said, "Whatever's the case, just remember that she cares for you deeply, Camila," Hailey reassured the shorter girl, trying to go for an optimistic route as she added, "Yeah, maybe she has her bad days but without a doubt, your presence alone can change that for her." Hailey said softly with a warm smile.
Camila's heart fluttered at the sentence, a warm smile inevitably forming on her lips as she said, "Thanks Hailey; that means a lot," Camila sincerely said, earning a grin from Hailey herself as she added, "And I'm sorry if I was ever awkward around you before; I just get insecure when girls are around Y/N."
Hailey laughed, really thought that Camila was joking until she saw the confused expression on Camila's face which prompted her to stop laughing and ask, "What? You were seriously threatened by me?" Hailey asked incredulously.
Camila grew even more confused as she asked, "Why are you surprised at that? Have you seen yourself?"
"Have you?" Hailey scoffed out, couldn't believe that Camila was that clueless on her own beauty as she added, "Plus, I don't see Y/N in that way considering I'm not gay; actually, this is probably the first school I've been to where most of the girls are either bi or gay as fuck." Hailey chuckled out, earning a laugh from the short Latina.
"Well, we're a Trump-free state so everyone here is mostly accepting," Camila said with a smile before she added, "And you can't get anymore right about this school. I mean, it's a bit odd but honestly, it's nice to see people comfortable in their own skin and not worrying about their safety."
Hailey smiled at the shorter girl's optimistic behavior as she said, "And you're worried that I'm gonna steal Y/N away when it's so obvious that I'm no competition." Hailey chuckled out.
"Camz!"
Before Camila could answer Hailey, her name was called out by a familiar husky voice and to her surprise, Camila saw that Lauren was coming over to her with a hurried expression which instinctively made Camila furrow her eyebrows in confusion as she asked the green eyed girl, "What's got you so rushed?"
Lauren stopped in front of her shorter best friend, a bit out of breath as she replied, "Everyone in the hallway just forgot it's school and bumped into me as if their lives depended on it," Lauren breathed out, clearly irritated by the event as she added, "Anyways, it doesn't even matter, real question is - where's Y/N?"
Camila furrowed her eyebrows even more as she turned her body towards Lauren, giving the green eyed girl her full attention as Hailey watched them with curiosity as Camila asked, "Why? Did something happen to her?"
Lauren sighed heavily, well prepared by the fact that her best friend was gonna question her as she said, "No but-"
"Then why are you looking for Y/N?" Camila asked with crossed arms, not backing down any second.
Lauren groaned in slight frustration before she exasperated, "Camz, just tell me where Y/N is!"
Camila was about to say something but Hailey, knowing the reason why Lauren wanted to see Y/N very well, decided to interrupt and say, "She was with Shawn the last time we saw her."
Lauren immediately looked at Hailey with grateful eyes as her lips formed a small smile before saying, "Where were they going?"
"Hold up," Camila interrupted, raising her hand mid air as Lauren and Hailey look at her expectedly as she said, "Seriously though, why are you looking for Y/N? What did she do?"
Lauren playfully rolled her eyes at Camila's endless questions before she started walking backwards towards where she thought Y/N and Shawn might be while saying, "Can't talk, gotta look for your girlfriend, bye!" Lauren rushed out before turning around and jogging through the halls, in search of the team captain.
Camila was confused; so confused but she was annoyed at the same time. She turned around and faced Hailey who was just standing there, acting as innocent as she can before Camila asked with furrowed brows, "What the hell was that about?"
