The girl hid inside the barn cowering from the storm and the rain that hammered down the roof. She cuddled up to the boy and continued to cry furiously.
"It'll be okay Alice" He soothed, although his thoughts decieved his words. "It's just a storm, a little storm"
But the girl was having none of it and looked at him, teary eyed. "You wouldn't hurt me like the storm would you?"
"Never" The boy whispered, hugging her tighter as if he could make the bruises that marked her disappear.
